I'm getting right down very suspicious of that hedonistic playboy, most of his jobs are turning out bad. I should have told that Spartan soldier that he was the one who sent that stupid thing in the box.
Yeah, my Kass felt the same too. Alkibiades is just a cunning version of Markos. I had him have it a couple of times down the line.

Omg, I want to kill him. His nonsense is unbearable. I wouldn''t be surprised if he's a Cultist.
Kass hit 50 and there're still a few islands not open yet. Also finished the Arena at level 49 but I declined the special fight; I've a bad feeling about it. Unlikely to initiate it. There's also a mercenary with no title to fight though I don't know why he's in the list of opponents. Perhaps he's supposed to be a warm up before the player hit the list of five champions. Finished the questline about Diona. She's too smarmy so I rejected her at every opportunity and I have to say her demise is not regretted. Also rejected the second encountered male healer; he's being ridiculous or rather, written badly. They really need to do a lot better with all these one night stand build up dialogues / encounters.

Has anyone managed to recruit Hippokrates onto their ship? This isn’t possible as far as I know. It would be very out of character for him, allowing himself to be pulled away from his work. Obsidian Gryphon and I like different characters. I liked Roxana better than nearly any other of the shallow “romance” arcs. At least she and Alexios spent some time together. They made a lasting pact, and we were able to see her again later. Alkibiades is my favorite NPC in the game. He was clearly much more than he pretended, and I couldn’t wait to see his long game unfold. Some of his quests were absolutely hilarious. I put aside Odyssey to play some Spider-Man, but I think I’m truly still in the mood for Odyssey. The thing is, I want to continue with Aleksios’ story. I wasn’t nearly as invested in Kassandra’s story. Something about Aleksios’ smartass, humorous approach is more engaging for me. I’m ready for these community events to get started, since more gear and cosmetics are always fun. I’ll put them to good use in the eventual NG+. Speaking of NG+, I hope we’re able to switch protagonists when beginning a NG+ save. I might be able to stick with Kassandra a bit better if I don’t also have to experience the early game level grind. The game doesn’t truly become fun for me until at least level 30. I was playing on Nightmare this second PT. It wasn't particularly harder, just duller. Having to strike someone 30 times with a sword is both boring and completely immersion breaking. This game is weird in that it’s difficulty is all over the place. It’s never hard, but it’s often a slog. Enemies soak ridiculous amounts of damage. At times, Normal gives me the experience I think best. At other times, Hard seems a bit better. At high levels, Nightmare is sometimes good and sometimes a waste of time. The game needs a lot of work in terms of gameplay balance. I think level-gating is trash, and should just be dropped. Make a few enemies that can’t be fought until high levels, like the Isu guardian constructs. Otherwise, if we’re doing character levels, just let the game level with us.

I agree, but there are a couple of walkthrough videos where you can ask him to join at the end of a quest. Didn't happen for me though.

If you kick the captain of a certain type of ship overboard and kill them then loot them, the game automatically installs a mannequin as captain of the ship which you can then recruit!!!!

dazk, I assumed that was some sort of bug. I’ll have to look at the video. A mannequin can’t be worse than Tekton, whom the game won’t let me dismiss. I won’t recruit him next time.

Yeah damn Tekton I just tried to dismiss him about 30 minutes ago. The video explains that apparently those ships have to happen a capt. so if you kick him off the ship and kill him the game automatically puts one back on their but its just a mannequin. Not sure if last patch fixed it, not sure how old the video is.

I played a bit with each save tonight.
I fired up Alexios and took on all of the available posted jobs. I likewise sunk a handful of Spartan triremes in order to clear two long-standing quests. I encountered an Alpha vessel south of Paphos for the first time and got a new cosmetic option. It’s probably my least favorite, but I’m still glad to have found it. I engraved a few more things and switched saves.
Kassandra is currently near Delphi and level 21. I got sick of monotonous combat and turned it down from Nightmare to Normal. I find Normal to be the most consistently satisfying setting in Odyssey. They really botched the Nightmare setting. I’m optimizing Kassandra more toward Assassination and finding it enjoyable. She was one-shotting brutes even before I swapped settings. Also, call me sexist, but I prefer the light armors and robes on Kassandra. The heavier armors look way better on Alexios. I like Kassandra’s animations better. Alexios, much like Bayek, sometimes moves like an ape in deep mud. Kassandra looks more natural.
I only played briefly, but Kassandra cleared a few sites and will reach Delphi the next time I play. I sadly closed Odyssey to try the new Spidey DLC, only to discover that PSN N America won’t upload it until tomorrow. I should’ve stuck with Kass. I need to sleep anyway, so it works out. Plenty of time tomorrow and the days that follow.

Plenty of time tomorrow and the days that follow. I encountered Deimos for the 2nd time in the game today on the island with the spear forge. I cannot see myself playing as Alexios if that is a typical example of his VA and animations. The lip synch (on PC) with the voicing was terrible and the voice seemed really forced. I hope it is just because of the role he plays when not the protag. Stumbled on two Cultists within 30 minutes today, happy days!!!!!! Stripped for cash atm have been guilty of too much upgrading.

They really need to do better with the stupid elimination grounds. If you hit friendlies on the conquest battlefield, nothing is slapped on you. I headed straight to main story point once I reached the island, did not do any other quest. It's totally absurd that doing a main story event in which you have to fight pirates and free Spartan soldiers, a bounty is slapped on you the moment you finished talking with mom. That meant the "murder" occurred during the fight. WTF??? The stupid bounty sponsor was standing right there. After the dialogue ended, he started screaming; I spotted her!! I ran to shake him off, backtracked and climbed to roof top to pop his head off. You can shut up now, you stupid sponsor.

Origins’ scenes were really well done, but a bit over the top in a few cases. I don’t miss them in this particular game. I think Unity did it best by far, with Arno seeing flashes of the target’s life as they died. It was cool, and made way more sense than a conversation in a dreamscape. dazk, I haven’t heard Aleksios as Deimos, yet. I think I like him a bit better as the protagonist than I do Kassandra, so far. Kassandra was definitely a good Deimos. Aleksios is really good in the emotional scenes. He drops his humorous, sarcastic attitude and gets serious. It feels very real to me. I’ve not yet reached any of those type of scenes with Kassandra.

If you have millions of drachmae like I did, you can buy materials from blacksmiths. I disassemble everything I don’t want to keep and buy every smith’s stock of materials. I eventually ended up with excess materials, but that’s better than excess money. I’m going to squeeze in some more Odyssey before Spidey’s DLC appears on the PSN. I think it’s going to be short, so either way I’ll be rejoining Kassandra shortly.

I did Atlantis and found Kass's real father there, with the staff. I knew what to expect when the staff was handed over. The question was; how long? I got my answer in the present. Though I was happy to see her, I knew it's time for her to go when she appeared and I was sad. But she has lived and bore the burden long enough; it's never an easy thing to watch friends (if she stayed around long enough in one place to make them) grow old and die. To have to change ID over and over as she progressed into the modern era. Time for her to rest and be at peace. Meanwhile, continuing Kass's journey.
