SO been testing out the video capture of FRAPS on ACOD to see how it impacts gameplay. I don't get any major impact but the quality isn't great but have no idea if that's my fault or just how it is. Anyway here's the first one, it's when Kassandra is trying to track down The Monger and finds his sex dungeon. I really like Kass's VA's delivery in this one and in particular like stabbing the hell out of the guy. Hope the link works!!!!! EDIT the link should work now Hrungr if you get a chance can you try it for me?

Live service when done right is awesome. After doing some research since an update was installed onto the ole PS4 I was pleasently surprised to find out that I have missed like 3 LTOG missions. Thanks to being in a bit of a grey area in my time tonight given that I was not able to continue on with DAI I fired up Odyssey for the first time...where I was also quite surprised to discover a quest line specifically involving Atlantis. Even more surprising: Found out to be playing Layla. Man is she weak sauce though, one spike to her...bits...and she died...instantly. Didn't make it too far though but figure I need to practice considering I am probably getting both DLCs soon and then after that going to be starting on a second PT of Odyssey with Kass.

The thread ran away on me. But I saw a coding issue yesterday that is too good not to share.
I am level 28, playing the part of the storyline on Silver Islands, the one where I destabilize Delos region to kill cultist #12345678. It fits really badly with my pro-Athens main, but whatever. The long story short...
That Spartan dude took Kassandra out for a quality sparring time, the trail of flowers an’ all, but once they started trading blows as a part of the Spartan seduction thing, guess who shows up? A bounty hunter! Looool.
The poor coded Spartan dude just keeps laying into Kassandra together with the bounty hunter, the true knight that he is, so she had to keep fighting both of them. I was laughing so hard.
Well coded, Ubisoft, well coded.

I kinda neglected to post Alexios's progress for quite a while, so here goes.
- Alexios has been reunited with his dear family. The Adrestia is a family run business now. - All but two malakes cultists have been eliminated and their leader has been revealed. It was the person Alexios had suspected for a while now. - He's now a top tier misthios! The hell horse skin looks impressive, but I'm still going with "Spartan Renegade" for Phobos. Matches Alexios's "Spartan War Hero" look very nicely. - Turned out there was more to the tale of the Minotaur than just a funny dude with a cow's head. That Minotaur is history now. - All those legendary animals Artemis wanted dead have been hunted down now. Imagine the enthusiasm when the last one turned out to be a... farting pig. Alexios refused to kill Daphnae afterwards. Just because some crusty goddess supposedly made that rule? Fuck that shit. - Oh, and he's the king of the arena now, but has no desire to go back.
Now if he could only find that ostraka in the palace of Knossos...

Now if he could only find that ostraka in the palace of Knossos... That f*****g ostraka is not in the palace. Blatant lie. Took me quite a while checking every stupid tree in, out and on top of the buildings to no avail. "Tree on top of palace" must sound the same in Greek as "tree on top of a hill".

Ran out of time and ideas yesterday, will have another look later today. Cheers

So finished the Heir of Memories: Kind of funny how this ended up being just one long advertisement for the Atlantis DLC. Funny. But it was interesting. For the second live service...thing...in a row Ubisoft played with things like loyalty, making us think that someone was betraying them. Also brought up interesting implications overall for what is going on in the overall story. So pretty enjoayble though maybe a little weird.

So second attempt and posting some video.
This is another of my favourite Alkibiades interactions post quest and demonstrating his Machiavellan strategies. Who'd have known an Olisbos could be the "tool" of such conniving tactics.

So yesterday, headed off to do the one of the lost tales in Elis "Setting the Stage" but when I got there I just wasn't in the mood to do it. I decided to run the 2,000+ metres from the nearest FT point and it was great, I really like just roaming for roaming's sake, opening up the map, clearing what I want and not just going here and there because you have to. It's also a rich area for Boar, Wolf and Bear hunting so Kass used over 100 arrows slaying multiple of the beasts and also picking much loot from unfortunate victims of the beasts as well.
Picked up Phydias's quest and will complete that today to get it out of the way.
Then ended up near The Legendary Ermanthian Boar who lulled in me into a false sense of security until I got him down to about 30% and who then caused me no end of grief requiring me to heal at least 4 times before I took him down.

I feel like I should regret that, but know I won't. And Natakas...that guy is just...all the facepalms. I'm not sure if the animators were intending for him to be cute and shy...but he's coming off as weird. It's like, back off dude - you're way too skinny for Kass. I haven't played that far with Alexios but Neema is a much better romance option.

So yesterday Kassandra ran from Elis to the end of the centre finger of Lakonia, about 2,000m I think for the hell of it and then hopped on a falaka to head to Kythera but it broke after about 200m so she swam the last 1,500m to complete one of Phydias staue quests, Athena I think. During her running she explored several tombs, cleared camps, killed Alpha Animals, harvested resources, synchronised FT points and did a couple of the two arrow black and white quests she came across. One was particularly funny as a woman was inspired by me insulting Hippokrates bald head and had decided to make Bear Fur wigs. Kass had already cleared those bears so that was easy!!!! Nice easy day, have been feeling a bit under the weather. Yep another tomb <iframe width="22.1800000000001" height="12.9" id="MoatPxIOPT1_67123849" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 92px; top: 169px; width: 22.18px; height: 12.9px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="22.1800000000001" height="12.9" id="MoatPxIOPT1_26018204" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 1127px; top: 169px; width: 22.18px; height: 12.9px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="22.1800000000001" height="12.9" id="MoatPxIOPT1_19707189" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 92px; top: 752px; width: 22.18px; height: 12.9px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="22.1800000000001" height="12.9" id="MoatPxIOPT1_21629567" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 1127px; top: 752px; width: 22.18px; height: 12.9px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> I am sure Bear Fur wigs will be all the rage again soon The Bears are already seeking protection Death by Wolf - obviously an Olympic Gymnast 2,000m in open water on a Falaka what could go wrong???? I finished up chapter two of Legacy. I must have made a mistake, though, because, despite never giving the whiner a moment of encouragement, he shows up at the house when he was supposed to be on a boat and the next thing I know, Kassandra has a kid! What. The. Hell? I mean, I didn't like him, but I feel like this was excessive. That feeling when you have to rescue a kid you didn't want, but had with a guy you didn't want. The baby is adorable, though.

I think this is part of the reason I have not done LotFB yet. It does look good, and has some important parts, but the baby happens regardless. I don't mind it being canon, only that you can actively avoid the relationship (from what I have read/ seen) and it still happens. It just seems more jarring than if you were given no option to avoid it at all. I am still interested to see how it will be linked into future games or stories.

I will say, though, the VA for Kass is approaching god tier for her performance in this chapter.

Cloning and artificial insemination didn't exist back then, only the natural way is left to have a descendant...that appear in AC Origins (Darius's blood is important too). I suspected Layla was a descendant of that AC Origin character before I even heard about Elpidios. Now I just think the AC Mythology trilogy is going to be a big family affair that span over ~2400 years.

And their entire life has been ruined because of their blood, as well as literally just seeing another family ruined, so why in the world would they want to subject someone to that at least at that time. It should have been a choice. Why is Dsrius’s blood important? He isn’t a Tainted One. And if he is then there was no reason to force the child since his family would have that blood regardless. And his teachings don’t need biological offspring.

The only thing the patch did was add hearts next to the more romantic path (the other path is still filled with romantic lines). That’s why people were comparing it to atrocious things in real life since that’s exactly what it was, especially from a game that promised to never do this. And the patch was just an insult since it was literally the least they could do.

I must have misunderstood the drama when it first came out, then. I thought the patch that came gave you an option to refuse to have the child. I will say, though, the VA for Kass is approaching god tier for her performance in this chapter. No. The patch just gives the player the option not to take the first step to forming a relationship. The relationship still forms irregardless, off screen. The drama is due to the way it came about; akin to Dany turning on a dime and going full mad queen. There wasn't enough development time and the relationship feels railroaded. Other players didn't want the relationship at all. However, player choice is an illusion and has no impact on the canon tapestry. How many times have players grabbed pitchforks, railed and argued against decisions that should not be made in other games? Did it have any effect? None. The canon story belongs to the writers / developers. It is their canvas and they paint what they will. I'm not upset at all by the relationship, only wishing they wrote it better and take the time to establish it. This would only come about if they had properly planned the story arc which is obvious they did not. As it is, I feel they're working on a fruit salad and embellishing it at the last minute before they send it out to the customer. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the DLC.

It happens regardless? It's not like when promoting the game they said that the player would never be forced into that kind of situation, only for that to be exactly what happened. Wait a minute...

Why do they need a child? They have a staff that grants them immortality. The element connecting Origin to Odyssey is that Amunet is a direct descendant of Kassandra/Alexios (whoever you played) and Darius (via his son/daughter). I think some people forget that Odyssey is the first AC game with dialogue choices and that it is game number 21 too (that total include the mobile/handled games). It's an action-adventure series with a fixed story at its core, not a BioWare RPG series with save importing.
