Is there any way to switch character models in Origins? For example, change Alistair's character model into Jowan or switch your warden's character model with Leliana? Thanks in advance

I've changed DAO NPCs into a facsimile of Anders (see here and here), so yeah, it's absolutely possible to give one NPC the appearance of another. For an NPC-to-NPC swap, you could edit the character file (UTC)... that's where the morph and equipment (and skills, talents, etc.), are specified... you'd still have the Alistair voice for dialogue, though.
My tutorial on basic NPC equipment edits is here, for what that's worth.
Swaps implemented via a UTC edit need to be in place before the affected NPC is ever encountered, so they work best in a new game.
If you just want a screencap of an NPC in a pose or situation where another NPC would normally appear or you don't need an equipment change, you can just swap out face morphs by renaming them. For example, to replace Cullen with Templar!Alistair, rename 'hm_genfl_alistair.mor' to 'hm_bhm300_cullen.mor', and remove the files that aren't needed.
Something like the Leliana to player character swap, can be accomplished by either creating a 'Leliana' face preset (MOP) adding it to the in-game character creator, and starting a new game; or you could swap the face morph of an existing PC with the Leliana morph of your choice. (See DAOSaves or DragonAge Face Replacer) There's only one shared human female body model (apart from the 'fat' unibody model), so your toon would look like Lels from the neck down by default. If you want the 'Leliana' voice as well, there used to be a mod on the Nexus (or maybe it was just a console script?) that would swap out soundsets for those used by NPCs. (Added link below.)
