The dwarf Inquisitor is in the Carta, yes? So it's an obvious choice.

If I play a dwarf it's always going to be a warrior. I see them as heavy plated, maul/axe swinging battering rams not sneaky little witch thieves.
Thus, I would choose Human for the Rogue class.

Human. Dwarf is just a race made for mock them and be pretty racist about it.

Dual wield dwarf rogues are the best! You used to be in the Carta, it makes sense that you know how to stab people in the spine. More sense than a human noble learning that kind of thing, frankly. (If I was going to play a human noble rogue, I'd make them an archer.)
My dwarf rogue romanced Blackwall, and that's a pretty great match thematically speaking. My male Cadash (who was a warrior) romanced Bull, which also matched nicely after he left the Carta and Bull left the Qun.

With those choices, would depend on which type of rogue I was playing - either Dwarven dual-wield or Human archer.

Cadash's gritty carta background is inherently more interesting to me personally for reasons already mentioned. But when given the choice I generally don't play humans, so there's that. What are some of the influencing factors for you here?

Brah what kind of question is this? Dwarves are closer to humans' hammies and groin, DW or Below The Belt and they stomp. 😎

I prefer humans, so... human. If I were going to make a dwarf, it would be a warrior. Then again, warrior is my main class these days, so it's not as cliche as it sounds. I recently changed my canon Hawke to rogue, but that is mainly because dagger rogues are so damn fun in DA2. The dwarf Inquisitor is in the Carta, yes? So it's an obvious choice. Not necessarily. Even if you think the sneaky dual-dagger archetype doesn't fit a human noble, there is also the bow rogue.

Human. I'm sick of dwarves and elves just generally speaking, and wish they weren't in Dragon Age.

Human. Because dwarfs are barely a snack for us. Humans have more to eat on them. 😈

For a rogue, I'd pick a dwarf. So many humans running around - it's nice to be different!

But between these choices I'd probably go with Josephine. The mafia prince/ss with the noblewoman.

Dwarf 100%
Carta background House cadash There are so many npcs letters that talk about you being a dwarf./carta Walk around haven and listen in on conversations
Carta rogue armor looks good Dual dagger artificer is a ton of fun and it fits dwarf I will usually romance cass as I like her quest and that she has some dialogue while on missions. Cant figure out Hardings angle

I don't really play as a Rogue, not my style...
But I'd have to say Human. Rogues are all about skills, and Humans get an extra ability point. Plus, as a noble, it definitely gives it a "secret agent" feel during the Orlesian ball where you determine the future leadership of Orlais
