For my Canon Quizzy, it's gotta be secrets. When I think 'Inquisition' I think of ferreting out hidden things and bringing them to light, so it follows that that such an organization would weaponize its strengths.

Influence. I typically use Josephine for most WT operations, even if it requires that I wait for her to finish something else. (Even though I can use mods, I don't want to use the No Waiting mod, as that ruins immersion for me.) I use the WT to continue my Inquisitor's roleplay and use that to make decisions. I like the mechanic as a representation of the Inquisitor actually leading and making decisions, rather than just being the leader of a powerful hit squad as we go around maps and such.
That said, I think that some of the WT operations are filler and the advisors are more than capable of making those decisions without the Inquisitor's input. Having the Inquisitor make the decision for something like a morale booster for soldiers at Griffon Wing Keep just makes it seem like the advisors can't agree on anything, even something so simple as that. Get it together, people!

I don't like to miss out on content, so I follow the chart on the DA wiki to see who gives me the best rewards, or failing that, the best outcome according to my personal moral framework.

Although my canon Inquisitor will use all three based on which she thinks is the best action, the most common is a mix of Secrets and Influence.

I probably use Cullen the most, but that's less because I go around sending soldiers after people and more because I like to put my soldiers to work rebuilding things, escorting and protecting people, etc. And Cullen provides some of the more honest solutions to problems.
That said, I use Secrets fairly often as well, because Leliana has ties to the Crows, the Carta, etc. and I think that's more interesting than dealing with the delicate sensibilities of nobles. Sorry Josie. She's mostly there to bring in the money.

I try and use whichever adviser I consider best for the job. Initially I wanted to aim for a diplomatic/influential Inquisition but came unstuck on Lavellan's personal quest through opting for Josephine instead of Leliana at one critical stage. On some other quests I opted for someone instead of Leliana because the number of missions that were awaiting her to come free was mounting, only to discover that sometimes it didn't matter and sometimes it most certainly did. So learning from bitter experience, thereafter I made sure I used the person I considered the best for the job. However, there were times when I just preferred Cullen's approach because he seemed to favour truth over diplomacy or lies and helping the common people instead of sucking up to the nobility. Then rather than leaving him doing nothing when I was using one of the others, I sent his soldiers off collecting resources but this seemed to count towards the mission count, so I ended up with a power Inquisition without meaning to.

I try to assign my advisors based on who is best for the job , but apparently I lean toward secrets. Or at least I assume so since that's what Blackwall tells me. Otherwise I try to keep the Inquisition as well balanced as possible.

My Lavellan for the most part leaned on diplomacy/influence, for the most part. My Adaar definitely leaned on Cullen's approach to a lot of things and so power was her thing. My Cadash leaned towards secrets, probably a holdover from her Carta days.
