Low: Spacebar. Tried a bronze game after pretty much a year-long break, and it feels like FoV is way too small, and moving is way too awkward. You could mod your FOV. Personally I'm good with it a little tighter (I used to run 100-110 in old FPS games, instead of 90), although ME3's native FOV is a bit close. You should see XCPTNL 's FOV - nothing is sneaking up on that guy. I think the standard FOV is 70 in ME3 (which is usually the standard for consoles). In FPS I usually like it around 100, sometimes just 90, sometimes 110 - depends on the game and how it feels when playing it. Back when I was playing ME3MP on a standard 16:9 display in Full HD I modded the FOV to 90 or 100 because the default was just way too narrow for me. Nowadays I play on a 34" ultrawide display in 21:9 (3440x1440 resolution) so the FOV looks insane to most people on screenshots or videos (feel free to take a look here in the videos I made for another thread - when in scope mode you can perfectly see what the standard 16:9 look is like and the space left and right of the scope-view is the additional space that comes with the 21:9 instead of 16:9 ratio which makes the higher FOV thus look so crazy). I use Flawless Widescreen and have the FOV cranked up to the right. I'm not sure if or how well this tool works with a single 16:9 monitor because I never used it before I got the ultrawide monitor. Back then on the 16:9 screen I changed the FOV in a game file but I can't remember right now where to find this setting - but if you (@carefull ) are interested in modding your FOV I'm sure you can find how to do it via Google.

I think I will just adapt rather than mod. I switched to my current monitor, the UW 35" curved, right after I stopped playing ME3. The game opened in a central window by default vs Andromeda opening up to the full extent of it. I am probably more used to a lot more peripheral than I know now.
So, I think this immediate change between the two games' presentations (I did a back-to-back) that gave me the claustrophobic feel & I will need to see if ME3 actually has a default presentation that will open up more view, etc when I have more time.
Anyways, hey, I was reviving the other guy, not the other way around (okay, once, only once), so it's still a plus. Though, yeah, a Batarian Slasher on Bronze... (hangs her head in shame)

Good Helped three players in a Collector gold match. They did very well, considering they had low grade weapons and everything. Boring Had a few boring matches. I decided that the moment someone started bopping rockets for no reason, I'll stop playing and try to stay alive for the rest of the match. Of course it's boring but they made it dull in the first place. I just had one on Hazard with Collectors. Two familiar players that I know love to boop rockets. I waited and sure enough, off went the rockets. I swam around the map and kept rezzing the 4th player who's not good. He followed me a bit and swan around. I did the objectives of course; downloading blah blah. I stayed in the zone and didn't shoot at anything. The most I did was float a husk out of the way. Pizza delivery I left it to the two mighty leaders. Of course, end match, I was the last but it's nothing to me. Fight Reapers in Reactor. Very good match because the leader used the rockets precisely when it was needed. The timing was such that I had brutes and banshees incoming while disabling device. He was covering me, as he did for the other devices but was unfortunately grabbed by a banshee despite using rockets. I had to abandon #3 because too many were rushing in. The rest of the team finally arrived and one of them started to do the device. I knew I had to cover the one end that was making cookies. The third player was covering the other end. I had no choice but to fire off missiles as I pressed forward, hoping to force the spawn to another location. No go, the cookies were coming too fast. After rocket 3 I started shooting, because device was 3/4 through, as the next group was brutes with the banshees further behind. It was done just in time before the brutes reached me so I let myself dropped off the ledge and rushed for the 4th device, luckily on the other side of the map, away from the mobs.

It doesn't support this by default and obviously not everything works as well as it does in a game which supports ultrawide resolutions right away (like ME:A for example) but it works well in gameplay and you obviously don't have to crank up the FOV to the max like I do.

The shaman still performed admirably, lots of well timed barrier use to prevent phantom syncs. So u don't need passive nor 1000 damage (and so 1000 N force) with barrier to stagger phantoms ? I m not sure anymore ...

I m not sure anymore ... Ah, forgot to mention I was testing different builds. I typically run him with no passives but tried a few different builds out thanks to the recent thread. Unfortunately I can't confirm as the run I'm referring to did not skip passives and it was on Gold.

It's a useful tool for quite a few games that don't support ultrawide resolutions by default. Obviously not everything can be fixed flawlessly as the name suggests but I'm thankful for the tool and it was useful in some games, especially ME3MP for me. Here's what I put in "Settings -> Configuration -> Display Detection" for a single monitor setup (even though it says 3 in the horizontal count) with 3440x1440 resolution so that it works well in ME3: Basically what this does is to position the display correctly. Width and Height are your resolutions. So if you are running 2560x1080 put that in. The Hud Width and Height then is the 16:9 ratio, in my case 2560x1440 (and for a 2560x1080 resolution it would be 1920x1080). The Hud X is the additional space on each side (2x440 in my case and it would be 2x320 for a 2560x1080 resolution). Then just load up the ME plugin, activate it try fiddling around with the FOV slider if you like to find the perfect setup for yourself. Have fun

High: got to fight alongside a fellow batarian. Kishock Sentinel + Eagle Vanguard duo worked rather well against the Reapers. Low: still feeling rusty. Got sync-killed by the freaking banshees three times. Higher: another batarian, Adept, joined us at wave 9 and helped immensely at wave 10. Glory to the Batarian Hegemony! Higher still: managed the insanest lucky shot. Missed a Banshee point-blank, the harpoon flew away and one-shotted a hapless Marauder on the other side of the map.

Have the courtesy to leave and let somebody who'll actually try join in. Because I used up good kits for those matches, I should get some small return. If there was any visible sign that the leaders couldn't carry the match, that they weren't that good players, I would continue to play but as I said, they used rockets unnecessarily. They are good players, all the more I find it disappointing / let down. If they want a very fast match, I'd rather they keep it a private match. Additionally, by using rockets when it's not needed, they scrubbed gameplay / experience for newbie players trying out gold matches; like the 4th player I mentioned. What did I do wrong? How should I do better? Sorry, the whole lot just went up in a boom, swim over to the other side and see if you can learn something. Boom. Nothing there either. Let's go swimming, let's go swimming, swimming, swimming... The three players I helped in another gold match were precisely that. Newcomers but it's clear they had learned something from bronze / silver matches or they would be running clueless. We stayed together, helping one another. No one used rockets. They were learning the pros and cons of their classes / weapons, how they should deal with tougher mobs of a gold match. For veterans, everything's a ho hum. For newbies, it's a new world for them. Just imo. End of line.

I was in one of those matches and sorry, you have to expect rockets on Glacier. This map is made for speedrunning and you rarely get a lobby that is so gud that a rocketless speedrun is doable. Just my 2c.

High: Carried an honest-to-goodness N7 1 Level 1 Human Soldier through a Ghost Hazard Reapers Gold game. Dude equipped Phasic II ammo to his Avenger got 50 assists, and the rest of us only had 10 Revives between us, which included all of us at one time or another. Can't ask for much more than that, and it's not his fault he didn't make extraction - he was following Bioware's instructions after all.
High: Commando Mastery completed again so my TSent will get a run out soon.
Low: On the way to completing the above, my TSol had two consecutive duo wipes with different teammates: Hydra Collectors and Reactor Cerberus. Tough games, the former with a Jugg and the latter with a QMI. I don't fail all that often, and two in a row is worthy of note. Two in a row with the TSol is downright shocking.

Low: I got Cerberus.
Higher: Cerberus got smacked around to the tune of 221k, no missiles.
Low: nothing else really. I'd be lying if I said I was back but I didn't hate the games I played.

Jade Dreamer (carefull)'s account is deleted? I guess maybe steadfastly defending MEA got too much for her. Or maybe a couple of games back playing ME3 made her finally see the light! Good to see you not officially back Clyde High: I had some romps yesterday with a Shadow/Piranha, TSent/Lancer, BatGuard/Raider and QFE/Claymore. Low: One duo wipe against Cerberus. High: It seems the host was unfamiliar with the phrase 'Fuck Cerberus', but we ran into each other again later and exchanged messages about how fantastic it is when you do actually get the chance to Fuck Cerberus.

I did see her get annoyed at what she perceived to be undue, relentless criticism, but witnessed nothing that I would describe as intolerance or bigotry - something I thought was generally limited to the Politics thread. Is this sub-forum truly the last bastion of civility on the internet?!

They're far too chill over the mic in-game to have their jimmies rustled by debate over MEA... if such a determination can be made via voice alone. That said, MEA is boring-sauce.

Not the only one to delete their account over such things recently. That's too bad. I didn't agree with her on MEA but I never engaged in any debate with her either. I did see her get annoyed at what she perceived to be undue, relentless criticism, but witnessed nothing that I would describe as intolerance or bigotry - something I thought was generally limited to the Politics thread. Is this sub-forum truly the last bastion of civility on the internet?!Yes, yes it is.

What does it say about me that I was quoting Withnail verbatim before my browser scrolled down to reveal the actual words? You really made me laugh out loud MrsFK. As a former roadie myself I've had more than a few Camberwell Carrots and the odd M&M 'episode' myself over the years.
