Much improved over that abomination that was the Paris live-stream. I still find myself annoyed that the focus has been playing the overly flamboyant Storm and at the mercy of the player to try and catch glimpses of the glorious Interceptor. I'd like to see them put together a spotlight series of each of the Javelins in combat...something prerecorded and refined so I can get a sense of each units full potential rather than getting hung up on the players middling gaming skills.

Still a good start and a much better way to market and garner interest.

Saw a bit of the livestream and was totally and utterly underwhelmed. What I find interesting is that I see people saying how excited they are by, and underwhelmed by exactly the same footage. Sees very similar to the Mass Effect multiplayer: I love it / I hate it, situation.

So logically those that like multiplayer will like what was shown and those that dislike multiplayer won't. Can't do much about that.

Am I'm not knocking the different perspectives. Given the polarity (and the recent fiscal announcements suggest high preorders for Anthem) half of a big cake may be enough for BioWare.

At least it seems it might be successful, which is something good I guess. even if it isn't for me

Sees very similar to the Mass Effect multiplayer: I love it / I hate it, situation. I find that it can mostly be explained by people who know/don't know what to expect from alpha footage. The fact that they have this much to show already - and it looks this good - should be enormously comforting. It's alpha. Obviously some things are going to be wonky, lots of stuff is missing because they're still working on it, etc. But if you compare the state of this game to MEA this amount of time before its launch, it's night and day. This game is miles ahead. This is real, raw gameplay footage months ahead of release. I really like where this is at the moment and I'm looking forward to tracking the progress.

Watch MEA trailers at a similar time before launch and you can see how off-screen dialogue is used to cover how the audio and animation lip-sync is still screwed at that point.

I rather found it a bit late when they announced having gone alpha, but maybe I'm just spoiled by years of early access alphas.

I rather found it a bit late when they announced having gone alpha, but maybe I'm just spoiled by years of early access alphas. Their definition of 'alpha' has been fairly particular before (and often they don't even disclose when they go alpha - I don't recall it for MEA)

I rather found it a bit late when they announced having gone alpha, but maybe I'm just spoiled by years of early access alphas. Alpha means things for different companies, for BioWare it is that they are now feature locked and won't be adding anything new to the game and will focus purely on using a full suite of RAID products on remaining bugs. I think its why we have also been seeing more of the game since then because they aren't going to be adding anything that will alter the game.

The other thing is as well that this content had to be locked down awhile ago so it was ready for demonstration, so the game could be further along now as well. That is one thing I would like to know with these demonstrations is when was this code pulled from the production line to be hand crafted into a demo.
