Given that various Qunari characters are prone to reverting to their native language, I'm curious if anything from the Qun's 1st Canto ever appears in a non-translated form. Several of the lines come up independently as well, but again, I can't recall if any of them are ever given in the Qunari tongue. Maybe it's just because I'm a language guy, and whatnot, but even in a made-up language, I'd kinda like to know how this bit goes.

Extracts from the Qun Shok ebasit hissra. Meraad astaarit, meraad itwasit, aban aqun. Maraas shokra. Anaan esaam Qun. (Struggle is an illusion. The tide rises, the tide falls, but the sea is changeless. There is nothing to struggle against. Victory is in the Qun.) Also, the Body Canto has one line that is deliberately in both trade and Qunlat for some reason: Asit tal-eb. It is to be. This is all there is on the wiki. All the available Qunlat is collected there, too, as far as I can tell.

Solas is surprisingly fluent in Qunlat too considering how much he despises the Qun. Try listening to him talking to the Viddasala on YouTube. I think he is effectively quoting back some of her own teachings to her.

Much obliged. I was aware of what was at that link, but was sorta hoping that since it was a fan edited wiki, the passage I wanted (which isn't on there) was simply something that hadn't been added. Guess I'll just have to hope for a Klingon Qunlat dictionary to get published someday. Solas is surprisingly fluent in Qunlat too considering how much he despises the Qun. Try listening to him talking to the Viddasala on YouTube. I think he is effectively quoting back some of her own teachings to her. I forget what it was exactly he said, but I remember deciphering that bit and it was more "conversational" than that. Still, his fluency is impressive, given it's a language that came to prominence while he was napping, and it at least sounds more fluent than the Nightmare's elvish.

Still, his fluency is impressive, given it's a language that came to prominence while he was napping, You will recall that one of his Fade stories involved a Qunari baker, so it would seem that he must have been observing them from the Fade during his sleep, since I feel it is safe to assume he hadn't actually visited anywhere connected with the Qun (even in the past) during the year after he woke up before entering the Inquisition. Given his ire against the Qun and how much they "offend" him by their mere existence, I think this had to have been based on more than just vague rumours. Mind you, I had this theory that either Solas or one of his acolytes was the original Koslun, who came up with the philosophy for a perfect society, minus any deities you will note, only for it to be twisted into what became the Qun. After all it is clear that the Chantry was the invention of Drakon and not Andraste and various Divines have probably interpreted her teachings in ways she never intended, so it wouldn't be surprising to learn that the same occurred with the teaching of Koslun. You have to admit it is understandable why he so loathes the Qun if Solas did have anything to do with Koslun, particularly considering what they do to their mages.

We could be here for days. They could potentially be delightful days, but still. Honestly, I do love this idea just because it makes him even more terrible; when people follow his teachings and then he calls them horrible for doing what he told them to do...that does feel very Solas.
