That's an interesting point. How many prefer the loot system of, say, ME1... where it just gave us the loot when we killed stuff? The lazy part of me really digs that. I was referring to the crouching down, hand movement, standing up animation in DAI. I'm not sure I want the auto emptying into inventory if they intro junk. I know, but it made me think of that ME1 thingee. Wondering how many prefer that.

Could use the dodge and last gasp, Guild Wars 2, in combat. They implemented the dodge in ME3 and it's one of the best combat features that I like. In DAI I felt like a frog every time I jump to escape a bolt, etc. Last Gasp; almost dying but you get a second wind and continued to fight until you're really down.
They should get rid of the loot animation, that one is a time waster and an annoyance.
I was going to suggest a Total War game feature if there's going to be fighting on a large scale but I doubt it could be done. Creative Assembly did a very good job with Rome and Shogun II, I wouldn't want to see a half ass version.
Journals. I was thinking maybe they could take out the quest tracker and give players a journal instead. Some of the older RPGs has this; you write what you want in a book. I think this could give the player more immersion if the book lay out is properly done; separate pages for regions. You write in those pages when you're in that region. Each time you write, a time notation would come up. Something like : 9.44 Dragon, spring equinox, etc. Dodge is an interesting one, there are certain class abilities you can take that allow you to dodge and I remember there being some discussion about this during the run-up to DAI. The question being, how much closer to an action RPG do you want the game to be? Do you want the game to trend more towards player skill than character skill? Personally, I'm comfortable with both, but you're gonna get a lot of vocal opinions on both sides on this issue. I would be inclined to leave it as is - have abilities you can take to dodge/block/mini-teleport if you want them, ignore them if you don't. Now when you're talking about loot animations are you talking just the animations or were you looking for something like an auto-loot system? I remember having an auto-loot mod in DAO, because after the upteenth playthough I was getting lazy. It'd be nice if we could animation cancel too (like you can in DAMP). Journals are an interesting idea. In a similar vein, I'd love it if we could leave custom pins and sticky-notes on our maps (Old Simeon's Cave - DO. NOT. ENTER. | BEARS HERE. | AND HERE.) And speaking of notes, BioWare - please, please let us rename our saves in future games! And ideally have a screenshot to go along with each one.

And speaking of notes, BioWare - please, please let us rename our saves in future games! And ideally have a screenshot to go along with each one. I would put the dodge flexibility towards the fighting classes; for rogues and warriors that don't use the shields. Mages and S&S fighters would be more hampered, the former by the need to focus / cast spells, the latter due to shield capabilities. My mind is constantly rolling whenever combat ensues; I should be in this position, I could dodge, roll and execute this blow, etc. So while the combat in DA is fine for all three, I feel constricted. So I'm one of those who want more player skill than char skill. Oh just the loot animations; I don't want to be watching my char crouching over / bending, hand shuffling, standing then I check the loot box that finally appear, hit the auto loot, walk over to another bod, rinse and repeat for 10 + bags. I just want to walk over, click, loot box (want, don't want, one button to loot all), move to the next one. With the kill-loot-animation loot mod for DAI, I run, see something lootable, two fast clicks and I'm moving on in the next sec. Yeah, sticky pins too. Didn't they use this in BG? Or did I mix it up with something else? Sometimes the location marker is wrong on the map so sticky pins will help.

Agreed - if they can make the looting faster, like they did for gathering herbs, I'm all for it. At this point, I can only vaguely recall BG - if they used sticky pins, they were way ahead of their time! from other games? not sure, but I like to see a couple from the previous DA games return - the ability to switch from using a bow to using two swords - playing as a sarcastic character You mean quick switch weapons? I miss those as well. If I had a pie-in-the-sky wish, it'd be that we could quick switch through 3 sets of weapons and 3 sets of gear (armor/ring/amulet combos). Purple Hawke is still my fav. protagonist, personality-wise. The trick is to have funny/sarcastic responses, but in a way that you're not just Hawke 2.0. I definitely would like to see more memorable dialogue from my protagonist. I think they went a little too far in making the dialogue for the Inquisitor "neutral" and therefore... not especially memorable.

That's what I mean If they do it with Hawke, they can do it with the next character I do agree about the Inquisitor. I wanted more sarcasm along with more ruthless dialogue. At least for my Inquisitor

Also, I second the addition of card games. I really enjoyed the card games in Red Dead Redemption. Little details like that make game worlds feel more alive. The banter during the games got a bit repetitive, but at first it was very amusing. I was disappointed that Varric's card game wasn't actually a card game. BioWare's done this before. Why not again? Pazaak anyone? I'd love to play Diamondback/Wicked grace, but I imagine it'd be time consuming creating a balanced card game from scratch that isn't just... re-skinned poker or something. In a broader sense though, I think it's just important to have fun things to do outside of combat. And the more interactive, the better. Here and there we've seen that in Dragon Age - MotA, WE&WH and Trespasser especially. Witcher 3 was also good for that, especially the DLCs.

I was just thinking, I really like the Horse race in the beginning. Would've loved to do more rounds just for fun. Yes - more races! Even more, I'd love to have a big, cinematic, Indiana Jones-esque chase scene involving chasing down a large mounted group (caravan/supply train/etc.) over rivers/narrow mountain ledges/etc. while evading attacks, disabling them as you go. In a similar vein, I always thought it'd be fun to be part of a big escape scene, fleeing on your mount while things are crumbling above and below you. Essentially a big, cinematic obstacle course where you have weave, jump and clamber over crumbling things to escape.

Someone here mentioned renaming files, that reminded me of something else which I want back. Screenshots that are named after the time they were taken, like Screenshot20160521204103544 (DAO) instead of ScreenshotWin32_0374_Final (DAI) would make them easier to sort into different folders AND play different characters at the same time. While I prefer the second file naming because it gives me less of problems when uploading (tumblr doesn't like dates as file names?) it's a little annoying when I want to play two different Inquisitors and then, when I sort the screenies in their respective folders get a "This file does already exist, do you want to overwrite the former picture?"

Who's ? I never noticed until now, but definitely having them time based is better than the weird naming which seems like it was left over from testing.

^^^ While I'm totally for a tutorial at the beginning, please let me turn off if I don't need it. After having played DAI for the umpteenth time (this includes playing on Casual, Normal, Hard and Nightmare) I do not need the game, to tell me that I need to click [space] to jump, or WASD to move anymore.

After having played DAI for the umpteenth time (this includes playing on Casual, Normal, Hard and Nightmare) I do not need the game, to tell me that I need to click [space] to jump, or WASD to move anymore. Definitely be able to turn off the tutorial. Please let me turn off Jonny's Dungeon in Baldur's Gate 2 every time I start a new game. Playing it once was enough.

There's a mod that'll let you do that, actually. You also get all the xp and stuff.

Another feature that would be great to see... Wider Variety of NPC Body Types & Ages.
DAI does have quite a range of body types already when you factor in all the different races, but more variety in those races would certainly be welcome.
Also, it would be nice to see different age groups again DA - from the infants/children to very old (though the latter is kinda represented in DAI).

Clothing that doesn't clip clip bloody long hair. You can't imagine how much that annoys me. If the game was a 1st person view, it wouldn't be a problem, I wouldn't see it. Since its a 3rd person view, I see the imperfection.

Some kind of flying? The other open world game I've played is ES Oblivion and I had explored and climbed as high as the map allowed. There's always the problem of getting down. If they intend to expanding out a bit more for DA4, they could include a bit of flying I'm currently enjoying in GW2; the depths of the new zones are huge and I don't like some of them. Too dangerous to stroll through. Anyway, perhaps a remote destination high in the sky for a main quest? I recorded a bit of my flight exploration at the current new zone. Since I've not reached the advance skill, my flight time is limited by the toon's stamina.
