Mine are:
1: Do take Echinea, from as early as possible. 2: Blow your nose as little as possible. And gently. Keeping your nose dry and clear is hopeless so don't even try it. You'll just damage things and help the virus. Do not try to blow a closed nostril. Let your nose close off one nostril at a time. That is the natural order, your body healing itself. Don't use nose-sprays (except in emergencies, as in you can't breathe at all). 3: Special Trick: Close your eyes. Keep your eyes closed as much as possible. Sitting an hour with your eyes closed alleviates the symptoms greatly. 4: Don't take painkillers. The fever is your friend. While the relief is great, tough it out instead. In my experience and conviction, eating things like Paracetamol during the first three days, will add days to your sickness and will make the aftermath, prolonged coughing etc, more torturous. 5: Sit up. Don't lie down. There is usually one, maybe two, really bad nights. Try to arrange for sleeping almost sitting up, or even actually sitting up. 6: Warm drinks and beverages. Yes. 7: Flu and cold viruses love dry air and cold air. And hates old, warm moist air. So don't open the windows. The sickness got its popular name "cold" for a reason.

Honey, syrups, and citrus greatly helps. The former two are great for creating productive coughs. Coighing is a good thing and helps to clear air passages and keep mucus from clogging your lungs.
Drink plenty of water. Fluids help to cleanse the body of sickness.
Don't try to force yourself to go to work. If you have the flu, STAY HOME and recover. Aside from the obvious need to recuperate you also run the risk of spreading the disease.
Drink plenty of teas as well. Hot, sugarless tea helps to keep mucus from clogging air passages as well.

I knew somebody in his 40's who went to work (office job) with a flu, besides being super irresponsible towards his colleagues working in that kind of physical condition, that did enough damage to his body that he had to be hospitalized a few days later. Turned out infection spread to his heart and damaged the muscle tissue enough to cause a serious muscle weakness. He got an emergency heart surgery from which he never woke up, he fell into a coma and then died a day later because his weakened condition. Just hours before his death he still did some work with his phone and ipad, called customers and joked around with his colleagues on the phone. He left a kid and a wife.
So the lesson here is that no kind of work is important enough to go there with a full blown flu, even losing everything and having to sleep in the streets is a better fate than getting yourself killed like that. All his dreams and what he could have been in the future wiped away in a matter of hours due to a single bad decision.
Also my advice, do not take any painkillers like ibuprofen, yeah it totally makes you feel better and the fever is gone but it will prolong the flu (fever is good unless it reaches excessive levels, its one of the few effective things against viruses), and it will fake a feeling that you feel great and can do lots of stuff when in reality the virus is continuing to fuck you up BAD.

Fever is natural and is part of the bodies healing process. You aren't denying that are you? Increased serum temperature kills the virus /science lesson. Flu vaccination - ummm, whose bullshit rhetoric are we talking about? Merck's? Bayer's? Budgeepls. ... My tip - like budgee said in the thoughtful portion of his post, you are what you eat. When you are sick, eat things that make you hot, and have antiseptic/antibiotic properties. Specifically - ginger root (make tea with lemon and honey), garlic, chilis... Some old wives tales are right on the money....

As for #3, well, why don't you try it and see for yourself? Next time you've got a serious flu. Flu vaccination helps preventing it, to a degree, but has no positive effect on a flu in progress, on the contrary. Washing your hands is also fairly irrelevant. The crucial part is not to pick your nose, scratch your eyes or handle food or eat with unwashed hands. But all that is also only for preventive purpose.

Next time you've got a serious flu. Flu vaccination helps preventing it, to a degree, but has no positive effect on a flu in progress, on the contrary. Washing your hands is also fairly irrelevant. Regardless of your meme, washing your hands does not help you treating your flu. (Yes, I'm being intentionally stupid here, for a reason...)Do you work in health care?Because they're pretty big on hand washing to reduce the general spread of infections. But otherwise, flu does not infect you through your hands. Nor does the virus live forever on your hands. So if you're relying on the hand washing element to not get infected by random contamination of your hands - instead of not picking your nose and not scratching your eyes (which you edited out) - you're going to have to wash your hands pretty much all the time.

*Raises hand*...and sex..plenty of sex!....the release of those sexual juices to and from your partner will cleanse the body of the vir.....uh waitaminute ...that's not how it works right?....uh...mmmm...nevermind! ...
Seriously tho...for the flu, i just eat plenty of home cooked meals vegetables/ meats/ proteins...etc...and i drink plenty of O.J. And i know some folks are saying try to stay away from meds, but f**k that...i got Thera-Flu on speed dial on a nightly basis....and the Flu seems to want to kick the s**t outta you at night right before you want to get some sleep. Thera Flu has always worked for me and eating fully realized portions of breakfast, lunch and dinner can really shorten the time you have the flu even tho it has to run it's course....food probably works better than anything because you are giving your body what it needs to naturally fight it.
I can't say enough that people need to stay home when they are sick...trust, i have NO ISSUE telling co-workers that come to work all stuffy nosed-coughing..etc....i tell them "yo...keep that s**t over there".......and people still try to come in your face or want to show you something on your laptop...i stop that s**t from the jump...uhm no....hit me up on Microsoft teams or messenger and i will look at the issue from there...do not come into my office area breathing and sneezin' all over the place.....

I'm not much help, I rarely get the flu. Last time I got it was a couple years ago. The time before that 14-15 years. Now colds on the other hand I get them easy. Other than being a germaphobe, wash hands after touching door knobs, people, etc, I don't do anything special with the diet or anything like that.

If I have had the flu or a cold for a while and am getting really tired of everything tasting like mucus then I will start eating hot, spicy food, especially buffalo wings. Normally I am not a fan of the heat, but a strong dash of hot sauce will clear everything out and let me smell and taste things for a while. There is also an adrenaline rush associated with it and that's nice as well.
