BioWare @biowareJust like a fine wine, #Varric only gets better with age. 👌 #DragonAge #TheMissing Dark Horse Comics @darkhorsecomics- It'd be nice to see a new comic series. What are Nunzio & Christina up to these days...? Meanwhile, on their official Tumblr--

I enjoy Varric’s new design. The receding hairline is a nice touch lol. Still looks handsome as ever.

Ugh every time we get one of these its like my theory is being more and more slowly confirmed and I can feel the hype building only to have to stuff it back into its box because it might mean no such thing as well to.
But it is kind of interesting that they start off with Varic of all people, both in timing, and almost as a *hint hint nudge nudge* reminder that he is indeed in Dreadwolf and there is this comic called the Missing. Hmm may need to watch a YouTube video to refamiliarize.

Ugh now I want Bioware to kill Varric off because I'm so sick of him. There are hundreds of characters in the DA universe but it's always Varric Varric Varric. (no offense to all you Varricmancers out here)

It'd be nice to see a new comic series. What are Nunzio & Christina up to these days.. Well they weren't involved on the Missing, so likely if they had anything in the pipeline it is being held back until after the game releases. On a related subject, has there been any news about a sequel to Absolution? (I'm still salty and sulking over who they allowed to be killed off in that) I really liked Fairbanks in the game and I thought he was okay in the Netflix series too, at least they hadn't totally ruined his character. Then they bumped him off. If they were going to do that, why bring him back at all. Just use some new character invented for the series, like everyone else.

Ugh now I want Bioware to kill Varric off because I'm so sick of him. Just so long as they don't kill off a different character that I really like and yet again leave Varric untouched. They was a hint in the Behind the Scenes video that we may have another "difficult choice" that will result in sacrificing a companion (or more than one) in DA:D. If one of the options isn't Varric then I will not be happy. He was meant to have died in the abandoned Exalted March DLC, so it is about time the fickle finger of fate struck him. Now Mary Kirby has left Bioware, he no longer has her protection, so the chances have increased of him being a target for elimination.

I really hope not, the forced companion deaths are so... disheartening I guess is the best word. I'm not a fan of the Kaiden/Ashley choice, and as stated earlier I really disliked how they handled a potential LI/Hawke choice in DAI. The Hawke sibling/DadRyder thing was also very anticlimactic (at least with Leandra you felt horror). If we have deaths of current or former companions they have to feel meaningful and earned, not done for shock value or as a means of showing that bad guy really is bad (looking at you Kai Leng). Mordin was a (potential) former companion death done right. The suicide mission is also a good way since all deaths are preventable if you're smart.

I say give Varric the Emily Wong treatment that way Bioware doesn't have to waste any resources for him being in the game. What is wrong with you?!? No character even the worse Bioware character deserves to be killed off on Twitter / now X. No character.
To Varric: why its always Varric, Varric and Varric? I am even a huge Varric fan but come on?
There is the love for Dorian or Josephine?!? (Sorry but she have to appear if Antiva is that important as it looks like)

Not necessarily. The part of Antiva it seems we’re going to is a different part of Antiva than she’d be in. Plus with how much they’re pushing the Crows most likely they’ll be our guide through it. Meanwhile they could simply have Josephine and her family evacuated to the south or something.

True but you can´t really have Antiva as location (it even looks like the capital aka Antiva city) without that the two most known Antivans won´t show up. But to be honest its no secret that we both don´t want even Antiva in DAD which should have been its own game with Rivain.

At this point it’s more I don’t want Josephine killed off or have her character bastardized which I see either happening. Also don’t want her relationship with the Inquisitor ruined since apparently they just left her and her family in hostile territory if romanced since I doubt the Inquisitor will be in Antiva with her.

I don´t think that Bioware has the guts to kill Josie but i kinda fear that they make her into a resistance figure who also use violence if she has to. Its stupid i know but for some reason returning characters who aren´t small cameos have to change quite extreme.

That's one of my biggest fears, especially since her being a pacifist in this violent world made her so unique. To turn her into someone who’s totally fine killing would be such a betrayal to what makes Josie Josie. So I’d prefer she isn’t in the game at all over something like that.

I could imagine that they would justify that extreme change in the common trope that she lost her parents in a brutal way. Maybe even some if not all of her silblings. Who knows but i really can´t rule out that they could toy with idea to make Josephine to Resistance / Resistenza figure and show that in a war everyone can change. How original.

Josephine, a pacifist? I guess perhaps in ideals, but she's a leader of an organization that is focused on (temporary) war and violence. And she believes these are required parts of politics in the scope of her job and life. She's even the one that makes *others* commit violence, even if you can easily argue she turns to it as a later or last resort compared to other people, at least the threat of violence is commonly used as a tool and I'm certain its implicit or explicit in many of her missives. She's no peacenik, that's for sure.
She is a relatively non-violent character compared to most we meet in Dragon Age though, and if somehow they take her on a darker turn, I'd at least hope AT THE VERY LEAST that there's roleplaying to allow us to bring back more than just glimmers of the DAI self. Like be the push for her to reach back into her old mental toolkit and achieve a political miracle!
I absolutely expect her to cut a b whenever the time comes, and believe its the right thing to do though. No crying over spilled blood. She knows the Game, she accepts it, and it'd be a character turn for her to instead utterly reject it in the name of a real pacifism. However, she's the first major character that really focuses on diplomacy, after a DAO of us fumbling around with it as Wardens and a DA2 where various efforts at it eventually led to cascading failure. She instead was able to make it work and that's cool. I feel her as a character who keeps the knife ready, but not in hand, as she's much preferring to shake on it.

I’ll trust what she says and does in the game and those who worked on her more than your viewpoint, and she is a pacifist. Most tools she uses is diplomatic and economic favors, or the ruining of those. By all means, find examples where she threatens inflicting physical violence. Dont want another Leliana situation with her where she starts as a murder hobo but we can talk her out of it. Hated it in DAI and it would be worse here. Plus boring, where seeing her stay true to herself, holding onto that light in the darkness, would be far more interesting. As for the underlined, what you propose she explicitly goes against in DAI. She killed one person on accident while defending herself from him and it still disgusted herself so much she swore to always find nonviolent solutions to problems.

DA chars that stood out for me are:
In DAO
The Warden, Leliana, Morrigan, Alistair, Dog, Sten, Oghren, Wynne, Loghain, The Mother( 'cause of her abomination looks).
In DA2 Hawke, Varric, Aveline, Merril, Fenris, Tallis, The Arishok, Meredith, Sandal.
In DAI The Quizzy, Baldy, Sera, Dorian, Cassandra, Blackwall, Vivienne.
Varric ( my buddy ) appears destined to come back in DA4. However, if his character is written as bland as in Inquisition, there's no room for him to be in DA4. I'd accept returning cameos of: Dorian, Cassandra and Leliana (if she's not the Divine). They would not be "out of place" and provide continuity. New players to the series can do without them.
DA4's major new characters better be compelling. I can't accept that Qunari female buffoon in that animation movie.... Frankly, I don't understand the intended target audience. As to the rest, Sandal's appearance in the Deep Road is an acceptable twist.
EDIT:: I just realized that the number of "memorable" chars diminished as the series progressed.... hm.
