Inky didn't need Morrigan in Trespasser, I don't see why they would need her now. (I just REALLY don't want to have to rely on Morrigan again. She has a son to raise. She should just go do that. )

I do wonder where she wandered off to at the end of the game, though.

Would it take much though? I feel like she'd be ready to crush some eggs without much convincing on our part. Really? I feel like she'd be gung-ho for his plan. World of magic, ancient elf stuff... look how thirsty she was for dat Well of Sorrows. 👀 I'm convinced that if she feels like she (and possibly Kieran and the Warden...) can survive it she will be DOWN with bringing the Veil down. I guess that's the thing. Solas made it sound like no one would survive it. Some clarification on his part would be nice lol. I also feel like a lot of the appeal ancient magic/elf stuff has for Morrigan is due to it not existing anymore and the fact that no one else has that knowledge. The way things are currently, Morrigan can be one of the few people who IS more knowledgeable about ancient magic stuff, and therefore it is within her power to distribute that knowledge as she sees fit. If everyone had it, would she find it so special? Maybe that's a misinterpretation of her character on my part, but that's how she seems to me, what with how eager she is to obtain the old god baby and well of sorrows without fully understanding the consequences of doing so.

Oh, I definitely agree that Morrigan likes to hoard knowledge. But when she's going off on her "ancient magicks!!1" tangent she despairs at the thought of a "mundane" world, which to me seems like a love of magic for the sake of it? I don't know if I'm wording that right. But she just doesn't see the appeal of the lives of everyday people, pirates, priests... that's why I can only ever romance her with an Amell or Mahariel now, someone who understands the appeal of a super-magical-elf universe full of forbidden knowledge and magic. 😛 Since we don't really know the specifics of what dismantling the Veil means... idk. I just feel like, of all people who are not ancient elves, Morrigan has the most chance of not dying lol.

I just wonder if, when it comes down to it, she'd rather the world stay as it is so the magical bits stay all that more special if the alternative does mean death for her and/or everyone she cares about. Really I think it just depends on what Solas' plan actually is, and whether it literally equals pretty much everyone dying or just a completely dramatic changing of Thedas as we know it.

I always thought Solas was just making assumptions about what would happen. It's not like he had a practice round at making the veil. I'd theorise that the reason elf-world got destroyed when all the magic was sealed away was because the structures themselves were largely magical constructs.
But I'll be disappointed if it turns out that veil gone = apocalypse. That as good as means that the world of Thedas is going to stay the same as it has up to now, and that's not really a world I enjoy playing in.

Inky is too cool to be a villain. Morrigan on the other hand, well yes she is. Never liked her from the start. She is certainly a villain.

Maybe it’s just me, but I felt like the epilogues of the main game were pretty definitive when it came to Morrigan. It felt very much like a “My job is done here, time to move on” type of ending regardless of player choices in all three games.

It felt very much like a “My job is done here, time to move on” type of ending regardless of player choices in all three games. I’m not trying to imply the Rifts are sentient. I think it’s more like an automatic defence mechanism activated by proximity. Other spirits do slip through the Rifts, but when they’re in danger, they pull a host of demons from the Fade to protect them. This is simply based on observation of their behaviour. It would be interesting to me if there was a thought process beyond the gameplay mechanic of making closing the rift more challenging to it, so I support this idea.

It's a interesting idea, but as for all things Solas, it needs to blow up in his face in a big way. Anyone read The First Chronicle of Thomas Covenant: The Illearth War? I'm thinking a scenario like that would be pretty cool. Recap (spoilered): Elena gains the power (of the Ward), but foolishly uses it to summon the long dead High Lord Kevin from his grave, and send him against Lord Foul. This act breaks the Law of Death, the barrier preventing the souls of the dead from interfering in the world of the living. Kevin's spirit is easily defeated and then enslaved by Foul wielding the Illearth Stone, and commanded to destroy Elena. So the equivalent here would be Solas takes control of either the Inquisitor or Morrigan and, by doing so, allows one of the Evanuris to escape and take control away from Solas, turning Inquisitor/Morrigan into a super-powered death ninja hellbent on cooking Solas's goose egg. Only to has his egg ass pulled out of the fire, again, by my PC.

I hope to god they don't take anything from the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant. Lol It's surprising to me they haven't taken more from the First. Tonally, DAO is a lot closer to the First than a lot of other books. Second Chronicles, I'm with you. That was a train wreck.
