There's quite a few armor styles I'd like to see again from DAI...but all from the companions! Sera give me those breeches & boots! The mc's armor has always felt lacking compared to companion armor or the design sketches. Thedas has so many cultures that could be influencing fashion, I mean armor. To date the game with the most armor designs I've liked has been Dragon's Dogma. So many beautiful capes! Fur capes, feather capes, cloth capes, velvet capes, big capes, little capes... I want capes. It was also nice wearing form fitting armor that was both functional as well as flattering. I want to look good saving the world. Also it had headgear that didn't hide the hair or head. That's always a plus in my book.

hilo "Functional but flattering" is a good way to describe what I'd like to see more of. Sera and Vivenne looked great even though their styles were radically different. Meanwhile there's Morrigan's weird bikini ribbon armor... lol. Not that I'm opposed to showing a little skin, but at least have it make sense... the Antaam-saar armor is pretty revealing but it makes a lot more sense in humid Par Vollen than it does in the Emprise du Lion. Then again Bull always had his tiddies out so maybe qunari are made of sterner stuff than the rest of us.

I’m on the other end of the spectrum in that I want it all to look practical and functional. Never a fan of the chain mail bikini or loin cloth of protection style from sword and sorcery stories/games. JRPGs I gave a pass for this as their worlds don’t seem to conform to reality as much. Well honestly there should be both but something tells me we won't get sexy armor for those who don't like practical armor. If I play a fantasy RPG, I want FANTASY. Even in my clothing. I think a solid grounding in reality enhances fantasy elements. If everything is just it’s fantasy nothing seems impressive it’s all just have waved by magic. I also disliked a lot of the space garb of the characters in ME2. That being said I don’t expect 100% logic here. The internal logic of game worlds and fantasy is agility protects you like steel so low protection on agile characters fits the world. Similar excuses can be made for mages and magical protection. But if I’m playing beef lord the destroyer real armor is what makes sense.

for starters more variation. some unique racials that look cool also seems nice.
and then cool customization, be available to mix things to make "unique" appearances, all this would be the definitive touch for me.
also a better color palettes for the dyes with also an option to not change colors.
having a cyan sword in Inquisition was dreadful.

Speaking of color palettes, better ability to change the color of your armor. Inquisition you could change some parts of the armor depending on the material you used but not all of it.

Who says sword wielders have to wear heavy armor: Ya, it's not pretty but she's a badass. and it's got fur, which you wanted, just not so much it'd be ridiculous in the north.

Of course there is Ciri, but I reject the idea that heeled boots during melee combat should be a thing. or that the shirt should be so badly fitting that it's gaping at the front. But I like that it goes "regular clothes". I'd see it as a starting armor Here's something on Ciri that looks more like a light armor, but it does look a little heavy for the north And then there was this lady, she was good at fighting with a sword. I'd still want to lose the gaping breast shot in the front but it looks heavier while not weighing you down.

I like to have Flemeths outfit Sera give me those breeches & boots! Yes, to Hawke's Champion Armor. Yes to Flemyth's outfit. YES to bright colors with layering and textural appeal. Sera's outfit is the bomb, and makes sense for the acrobatic archer she is. I'd also like to add: I like the warden armor from DA2. I like Isabella's outfit (with pants?) that DAI MP has. They should bring in new materials for armor, like wood. There should be the addition of earrings and I want to wear a feminine diadem/tiara if I want. And I want accessories to be seen if you're not wearing heavy armor.

I would like more opportunities to wear a dead animal on my head, as seen below: Frenzied Berserker Hide, MotB Morrigan Solas Zevran (ok his is clearly metal but still) I'm not even joking, that's cool as fuck. LET ME WEAR SKULLS ON MY HEAD, BIOWER. Other armors I like: Plus some good ol' qunari concept art:

Warrior: I've always been a fan of clothing and robes underneath bits of heavy armor. Rogue: Dashing and roguish or elegant and debonair. Mage: Dark or opulent robes for Tevinter. I also really want more cloth and leather armor with laces and embroidery in them.

Now I really want to bury my two handed war axe deep in that exposed belly. Most of the nonsensical suggestions I've seen in this thread make me want to beg Bioware to ignore this place. Because all of the armor thus far in this fantasy world have been TOTALLY realistic and based on REALITY. And so have all the other fantasy armors in the other games I've linked from: war frame, destiny 2, the golden Witcher World, Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassin's Creed and (actually, I think that Hellblade's armor is actually pretty legit) Our DA characters live in a world of BARRIER, Revival, and Guard. A world where Wunari have had their man boobs and a bit of a loin cloth for two games and still considered feared combatants. My suggestions are taking into account the sweltering heat and humidity likely rampant in the North while avoiding half nude monstrosities. And the under dressed I have suggested for our rogues and mages and not our tanks. Although tank clothes, especially full coats of armor from head to toe, are actually the least realistic to imply characters are running and hanging out in all day. I suppose you want those for every class? Even though that wasn't even worn on Planet Earth by a majority of combatants throughout our history? Because your skepticism loses in reality and fantasy.
