Dorian makes me wish I have rolled a male character. I had to use a mod to enable Solas romance, the animations are imperfect, the character is lovely. My pc's canon choices -Blackwall and Iron Bull- do not interest me that way, and I have dropped Sera as soon as the option came up in the initial dialogue, my complete anti-character, let alone a romance option. Ironic, because she seems to just love Qunari.
I am not sure how to answer the poll.
I guess, I will vote Dorian with an M!Qunary, though I did not actually play it, as what I would do as a Canon. The fit is great, Tervinter and Qunari, natural friends and lovers because their societies are traditional enemies. Perfect and interesting fit.
But then a M!Qunari does not fit that well with the strong female vibe for the Andrastians in the South. I like F!Herald of Andraste better as canon.

I voted for "None." My inquisitor romanced Dorian, but the two of them were just not compatible as a couple, so they broke up. My Inquisitor had a major crush on Cullen, but the feeling was not mutual, sadly.

(Now I have a qunari with him, but I don't know, this is not what I felt, with Anders, Fenris or Kaidan). So: now I have an Inquisitor, who hopelessly loves Cullen... sadly

I've rerolled and Dorian is now officially my official romance. I still like Thane's, Bao Dur's and Anders' more, but Dorian works for me in Inquisition, as a Tevinter Mage - Qunari Mage outcast pairing. Both are in self-imposed exile from Qun and Tevinter respectively. The Inquisitor is an unwilling religious figurehead, which makes him conflicted in respect what was pre-ordained and who he is. Dorian avoids his birthright to a position of power, similarly conflicted about his destiny vs his personhood. It's a good lovestory, and the dialogue delivery is fair.

Cullen. Personally I like strong men who aren't afraid to say they have a problem and learn to grow from their past. Sigh. He's smart, and funny and I could keep going. I played as a mage in Inquisition because of the gaming style and didn't plan on romancing him at all, but when he hesitated during in your heart shall burn and then when he reassured me that Haven would not happen again, I swooned.

In my first playthrough I romanced Cullen with a HF mage. I thought it was adorable and I was happy I finally got the chance as I really liked him as an Amell as well. (In my headcanon, my non-Warden Amell does eventually end up with Cullen.) But then....I made an EF mage and romanced Solas. That romance blew every other romance ever out of the water for me. And I couldn't - still can't - make any other character now. Just an EF mage romancing Solas. On the one hand I'm sad that I didn't experience Solas' romance not knowing who he was but on the other hand I'm happy I tried Cullen first as otherwise he'd never had gotten a shot probably or I'd never have been able to finish a non-Solas playthrough. :lmfao:

*sneaks in and puts bedroll on the floor* Bye Andromeda, this is now my new home.Story time: In my first playthrough, I wanted to play a female lesbian warrior qunari and romance Cassandra (I didn't really knew she was straight, I hoped she was bi). After starting the game I became more and more pissed, because of the hip swaying female inquisitors do. Like, I remember at one point, I had to pause the game and get some coffee because I just couldn't take it anymore. Then my game glitched and my inqusitor started running around through the whole prologue with her sword drawn, I couldn't holster the weapon anymore. Thought: "welp, maybe it'll go away after I get to Haven", but nope, my game was broken. At this point I thought "fuck it" and just made a male Adaar mage. No freaky feminine hip swaying, no bugs, "good enough" I thought. Since I had to scrap all of my headcanons for my precious lesbian I felt a little sad, because I wasn't as invested in him, but boy did this change fast. The only leftover headcanon from my previous Adaar is the fact that he's gay, that's it lmao. My Adaar ended up with Iron Bull in the end. I roleplayed him to be a kind of a bitch and very pro-mage. Cassandra ended up hating me (my heart broke, but it felt satisfyingly in character for him). Funny enough, I realized Sera would have never been an option for my previous Adaar (I really dislike her) and Josie was cute but idk.. She felt very boring to me in a lot of ways. In that aspect I was actually glad I rolled with a male Adaar, especially since I didn't have to put up with that weird walking animation. Iron Bull's romance blew me a little away to be honest, because I didn't expect a male inquisitor to get a m/m romance that felt so sexual and kinky. This made me ridiculously happy for some reason, probably because I am so used to queer people getting cencored left and right. The romance scenes were a little ridiculous, I laughed a few times at how awkard they were, but I still really liked them for that. That dragonstooth scene is so sappy I can't believe I love it. The banter you get with the romance was hilarious as well, and I really liked how sweet Bull was actually, when you get to know him. Especially after Trespasser. I am so invested in my Adaar and this romance now, that I tried doing another playthrough, but ended up replaying him yet again . His romance is just so weird I can't take it seriously, but at the same time I actually do take it very seriously, because it's so dear to me now hahaha.

It's hard to decide who to romance as a Dalish woman. I find Cullen's romance more enjoyable as there is far more content and the scenes are incredibly sweet. But it seems like a waste not to go for a character who is more relevant to the plot, like Solas.
At the same time... I feel tempted to ditch the elfiness altogether and go with Cassandra instead, since she easily is my favorite character in DAI. Then again, I do love elfiness.
Ughhhh, DECISIONS!

I would prefer Cassandra with Trevelyan (I don't know Adaar or Cadash); she hardly understands elf beliefs; in the Temple she has a rough comment about it, but if you don't bother, then no problem, Cassandra's romance is good.

The most interesting storywise are Morrigan/Alistair-Anders-Solas.
My favourites are Zevran/Morrigan-Merill-Sera/Cullen.
I am not good with choice.
I wish they would start tying romances into the general plot more often.

I think if DAI were a movie, the movie would be about a male mage that romances a Cassandra that becomes Divine. Just makes sense as a sequel to the movie. So, Cassandra is the canon romance.

I have that scenario, but I don't think, that would be the "canon" romance, or makes more sense in the aspect of future, than Solas/Lavellan or Inquisitor/Dorian, given that we leave Southern Thedas, and probably going to Tevinter, and searching for Solas.

My Trevelyan romance Iron Bull, Adaar romanced Sera and Lavellan romanced Solas. I don't really consider any of them "more canon" than the others.

My canon Inquisitor is a bisexual dwarven artificer. I had a lot of fun role-playing him. Cassandra was too serious for him, The Bull too big, and Dorian ended up being his bestest bro. He had a crush on Josephine since he first saw her, but did not really do anything about it, because you know - she's basically a princess and he's a lowly Carta dwarf. So he just playfully flirted with everyone until the fall of Haven, after which he decided to make a move - at least if she rejected him, he'd be sure. But she didn't, and they lived happily ever after. At some point they even had cute little half-dwarven twins in Antiva.

I had a crush on Cullen since DA:O and was thrilled to hear he'd be a romance in Inquisition. Made a pretty mage (fav class) and eagerly started playing.
Then Solas chuckled. Then kept talking. That voice just...I didn't get past the Hinterlands before I started over and my human got abandoned then later deleted. 9 playthroughs later and it's still Solas.
Also rolled a male Inky for the first time in a Bioware game just for Dorian. I hate playing as a guy if I have a choice so the fact that I enjoyed it immensely is quite a feat. Can't wait to hear what becomes of both my pairs in the future.
