The OP said "love to hate" was also an option. So here it is: I want to destroy the Qun. If I need Tevinter's help to do it, then so be it. It certainly is. I don't know that it will ever be possible in these games to eradicate an entire philosophy, but I imagine there will be opportunities to undermine the Qun's military power and perhaps their civilization. Yeah, I don't think you could be successful in such a goal, but making it politically irrelevant for a time, and weakening its cultural impact by Thedas' equivalent of memetic engineering, that should be possible.

I love my boy. I wish I could romance my boy. But enough of gushing, something that '' intrigued me '' is what Iron Bull said about tal-Vashoth; that they should've stayed and tried to change Qun from within. Now knowing Bull he was just spreading lies about Qun seeming open for some kind of '' change '' but it did make me think that it'd be neat to see someone who appreciates parts of the Qun, like the '' everyone has a place in life '' thing, but doesn't approve of how a lot of it is handled, and especially doesn't approve of spreading their message through warfare. I think we are definitely ready for a tal-Vashoth, who loathes the Qun, yes, but at the same time I'd like someone who isn't completely brainwashed about Qun, but still roots for it. That would probably sound too Dorian-ish, but maybe their path would take them out of Qun to make their own group of people who follow most Qun philosophies but in peace.

He is a fine specimen of qunari manhood. 👌 Even though he's not a big grey guy with horns, your description sounds a lot like Gatt. He's adamant that he prefers life in the Qun over life as a Tevinter slave - and doesn't seem desperate about it, just content - but he also notes that "I thought about leaving (...) if I leave, the parts of the Qun that I don't like are never going to change."

You know, Gatt sounds okay, but I think I'd like someone who was born in the culture, instead of being brought into it somewhere else. Of course, there's the question of '' would such a person exist inside the Qun? Who was brought up in it but criticizes it heavily, wants it to change '' well, I mean, tal-Vasoth. Just, tal-Vashoth. Obviously qunari aren't built for the Qun, and there are people who flee. A character who doesn't want to flee, but wants to make changes, would be interesting to me. But then I don't really want Qun to change you know, what is there left of Thedas if absolutely everything gets redeemed.

I understand what you mean. 😋 I like the idea of meaningful change within the setting - socially, spiritually, politically - but if things are too different then some of the charm of Thedas is lost, at least as far as I'm concerned. A conundrum for sure!

Sten-like Qunari or no Qunaris at all. I can't stand the horns - or the fake caring bullshit of Iron Bull.

Can we have a Qunari companion that has no tendency to fight/betray the protagonist?
Personally I'd like an escaped Saarebas who is absolutely bitter at the Qun and completely loyal to you, so long as you willing to oppose the Qun.

Though I guess Bioware won't let you really do that with your protagonist.

But I don't see siding with the Qun being a thing, at least not yet.

I really like the qunari, and felt bad for going against them in DA2. I mean, they made everything to try and find a peaceful solution and the city just fucked them. They accept the poor (there aren't poor people in the qun) and have almost no hierarchies. The dialogues with the Arishok in DA2 were among the coolest in the series.
Hawke: How many qunari did you lose to the Tal-Vashoth? Arishok: None. Hawke: I find that hard to believe. Arishok: We lose nothing when weakness leave the Qun.
I feel the qun is really an ideology for the oppressed. The problems with the qunari are the way they treat mages, their brainwash and their sexism.

What should remain on the pages of the Koslun, and never should be a system of a society.
The Qun as a system is slavery. For everyone.
