The worst game I've ever played is probably Call of Duty 3 or World at War. I'm a huge fan of CoD 1, CoD 2, Modern Warfare, and Modern Warfare 2. I just couldn't believe they actually slapped the Call of Duty name on those two piles of garbage.
I haven't played any bad games recently though.

Honestly??? Modern Warfare 2 You can hardly see enemies at all let alone shoot at them... during the first mission I ended up spinning around shooting wildly It also took me like a million attempts to climb an ice cliff even though I was doing as the game said I kept falling The guns also sound incredibly weird and like not-gun-like... the characters/plot are basically nonexistent, the graphics are pretty bad... and then comes to the online ive tried it once and it was an awful laggy experience... I also played with Arkhne on the coop thing and that was awful... like the frames per second was about 1 because of the lag and stuff happening I mean it isnt a bad game... just my least favorite out of the ones I own You, Call of Duty? Wow. I'm... surprised. Who are you and what did you do with Gen?

The worst game I've played lately would have to be the Thief remake, fuck that shit. Can you pinpoint why it was so bad for you? It worked well for me until the end sequence of the prefinal map. From there it went downhill so fast that I didn't finish it. Damn the developers who thought a stealth game had to have action sequences. As for my worst game experiences...hmm... Probably Outpost (1996) and Master of Orion 3 (2003). The former was feature-incomplete, missing some core features that would've made the game interesting past the first few hours, the latter was a dry-as-dust micromanaging hell. Also, the remake of the classic RPG "Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny" (2013), an almost unplayable bugfest that managed to retain everything that was not so good about the original while losing all its charm. Lately I haven't had any really bad experiences. "No Man's Sky" didn't get past my bullshit detector, though it was a close thing.

Lately I haven't had any really bad experiences. "No Man's Sky" didn't get past my bullshit detector, though it was a close thing. It did me, though I actually don't think it was a terrible game. There was just alot of hype surounding it. So folks were expecting some amazing, perfect gem. And the devs didn't do anything to contain the hype. The game itself, is a solid base. But it does need more added to it. If the devs added content to it, factions, ships with a purpose (not just show pieces), npc's that walked around, and even home planets (or planets with cities) of races, this game would become amazing fast.

Assassins Creed, all of them.
The first one by far is the one I disliked the most, AC2 was ok, AC4 was a fun pirate game but the rest of it was a chore. Syndicate showed some improvement.

MoO3 was the biggest letdown and disappointment in my gaming career. There was some FPS with blood and walls of guts that didn't really make it past the menu, don't know the name anymore.
Of late? I tend to forget the crappy ones. Witcher 1 and 2 were kinda bad and had their uninstall coming quite promptly. Deus Ex Human Revolution was a clean uninstall at my second playthrough attempt. Oh, Oh! I know, I remember: Tharsis! The first game I refunded on steam. That was quite bad.

Deus Ex Human Revolution was a clean uninstall at my second playthrough attempt. Wow, you rated two of my favorite games (TW1 and DXHR) as your worst. What made you dislike them? TW1: No chest during the entire first part. Crap kept adding up in my inventory. No educated decision possible whether it'd be useful or not. Combat sytem felt strange. Had trouble determining whether silver or normal sword was the right one. Didn't get into rune system. UI for levelling was confusing. Ragequit the game and uninstalled it when I had an escortee behind me and enemies had to spawn in my back killing her swiftly. Bought it in the bargain bin - I'm quick to dismiss games I didn't really invest in. DXHR: Enjoyed stealth gameplay a lot. Enjoyed the game overall in fact. Then came the first boss mission. I ate through the first playthrough. On the second I just went "fuck this". They even had the guts to ask for money for fixing the boss missions, lol - they can stick their games where the sun don't shine now.

I've played the last Thief iteration. It wasn't really bad when I played it - I just couldn't make myself do another playthrough. Kinda bad buck/entertainment ratio.
Evolve was kinda fun for like 1.5 months. With their patching policy and their shitty exclusive deal it went really downhill for me. Getting put into monster role because MM or pre-mades didn't help either. Coop got boring once you figured out the AI.
Last two years didn't have many bad points: However
Because of TW1/2 I didn't buy TW3 Because of DXHR I had no interest in the latest Deus Ex. Because of Civ 5 and it's space derivate I'm reluctant to look at Civ 6. Because of Paradox' DLC ideas I won't buy another Europa Universalis. Because of the shenanigans FD pulls off with their latest expansion to Elite Dangerous I'll be holding back on their next expansion.

"No Man's Sky" didn't get past my bullshit detector, though it was a close thing. I never understood the hype for "No Man's Sky" to begin with - the pre-release screenshots all looked like some weird colorful candy land to me. Most of the hype was born out of the most rabid fanbase. Developers, instead of trying to contain and bring expectations back into reality, rode the hype tsunami all the way to the sharp rocks on the coast. It doesn't help that many features were promised and never delivered, with a rather long list of lies upon release. Media outlets not only believed the hype and the lies, but were in some cases used willingly to spread them: I don't remember who did a stream the day before release along with developers and the game shown was more like the E3 presentation and not at all like the game everyone played. I can't find anything in a quick Google search, but considering the huge fallout that happened it's possible that whoever did it (maybe IGN) has removed all traces of it to save their face. People should've learned after the disappointing (though not as much) release of Destiny two years ago. If a game with such a high budget and a praised studio behind it cannot deliver the expected quality, for whatever excuse they might use to justify their utter incompetence, how can you expect an indie studio that never attempted such a project before and doesn't have the same kind of talents of Bungie, nor an adequate budget. If we look only at what came out and how small the NMS team is, we could think they achieved a lot nonetheless. This, though, is thwarted by the inexcusable mistakes made. No one forced them to set goals so out of reach, and they even had a lot of help from Sony. Yes, I know the tear inducing story of the office flooding, what happened sucks but it didn't hinder the development one bit and after almost three years from that event it's hard to use it to justify the situation. When even Forbes, of all places, uses your game as an example of how not to handle a post-release crisis, it means you really messed up big. But crappy releases, disappointment and massively overhyped games aside, I haven't been hurt directly since Medal of Honor: Warfighter. I couldn't even finish the game because of the incredibly headache inducing "style". Was it the renderer, the overly realistic design, the choice of colors that were all a variation of the same shades of sand, gray and blue? Maybe all of those, plus a story so boring and forgettable that makes Microsoft Solitaire look like a masterpiece in storytelling. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is a close second, not for the story or the gameplay (those are fine), but the PC port. Last time I tried (back in 2014 I think) the game couldn't run at an acceptable framerate no matter what settings I used. I don't know if they have patched it, but I feel like it would be too late now anyway. Thankfully I got it during a Steam sale, I think I paid around 7€ so I haven't lost much.

Worst Game ever? A toss up between Neverwinter Nights 1 and Arcanum. I could not wait to get my hands on either of those, but both failed. NWN1 was all around terrible, and Arcanum, well, I was interested in playing it, but I could not play with avatars looking like bowling pins. If there was one game I wish they have revamped and updated and ported into a modern awesome graphics, it would be Arcanum.
Worst game lately? Blade and Soul. It's very much like NWN1, only the game has the class and battle design that is totally awesome, but it basically goes nowhere from there. It feels like a slapped together quick and dirty demo for the engine, against a backdrop of the landscapes that are gorgeous. It feels like they gave all the funds to the artists, and then brought in a couple of guys from fan-fiction dot net to do the rest. It's not even voiced, and it does not have main character's options. But, it has 1896 ways to show off your character's breasts. And to substitute for all the missed content, the gearing in the game is handled through hundreds if not thousands of repetitions of the same group content. Yeah... crazy.

Its been a while but I recall not liking it because of how linear it was. To be honest I didn't hate it in and of itself, it was just another average game to me. The reason I have such distaste for it is because it is completely inferior to its predecessors.

If it helps, I got bored with DAO and quit playing it after about 40 hours on my initial attempt, though I gave it another try later and liked it.

Anyway, assuming that we're mostly talking about games that seem like they could have or should have been good but failed, I'd pick this late '90s point-and-click game called Welcome to the Future, which kind of seemed like it wanted to be the next Myst. It had some neat settings, but the plot and mechanics were unbelievably obscure. Apparently, I (whoever I am) am wandering around this landscape (wherever it is) picking up "keys" that are somehow linked to the "return" (from...somewhere) of the "ancients" (whoever they are). In the process I get lost in an underground maze, verses of trippy rock songs play about some sort of spiritual journey (sample lyrics: "What the hell are you waiting for? / Get yourself right through that door!"), and cause a slide show of abstract art and/or nature settings (can't really remember for sure now) to display itself. A friend and I must have spent at least a few evenings playing it, going from genuinely curious at first to sort of ironically enjoying it. If there was a definite point to all this or an ending, it certainly eluded us. I gather, from what little I can find about it online, that perhaps the ending was just another odd slide show and "the ancients" never actually appeared.

WCW Backstage Assault for the PS1.
Rotten concept (a wrestling game with no ring) Rotten controls. Rotten graphics. Just a rotten piece of shit.
The previous WCW game WCW Mayhem was bad but everything that was wrong with it was a million times worst in WCW Backstage Assault. And both of these games were EA games BTW.
