I played DAIMP a few times and it was okay I guess, but I couldn't really get into it. I don't really care if they continue to have multiplayer or not, just as long as it's not the only way or the main way to play DA4.

Luke Barrett saved MP and made it incredibly fun. I like the MP more than SP. We know you're lurking here Luke. Come out and put your hands up! i knew something was fishy...

I'm intrigued by some of the ideas in here about trying to bring your SP protagonist into MP. Also kinda made me think about how cool it would be if you could customize your own MP character, like in an MMO. Or if we might be seeing pre-set characters again like all their other MPs so far (Turian Sentinel equivalent, pls, if that's the case). Intrigued me enough I popped up a poll in this thread: What kind of MP character would you like playing best?I kinda thought about putting the poll here since this thread was already talking about it, but that would require me to edit the OP's... well... OP and I would feel rude as hell to do that, so I made it a separate thought. I still remember that livestream where you finally got your Heal on Kill ring after so long. I couldn't help but cheer internally

It would have been nice to have at least ONE Bioware single-player game series, but I guess with EA that is impossible. Hopefully, mages don't get stuck with only three spells at a time. I also hope they keep single player and multiplayer completely separate. They already have Anthem as their multiplayer-only game.

(I did have to point out before the successful run that I got my HoK ring after just two weeks of playing. "How to make enemies and influence people.")

Very surprised that they would have a mp component as daimp was not that popular overall. However i am pretty happy they are. I have been back to playing a lot of daimp and did they did some things very well in that if you ask me.

There's that dwarf Luka in the courtyard and then the others show up outside Cullen's office on the battlements. You can also found Argent hanging out by Leliana and Neria strolling around Skyhold’s garden. Zither also pops up in Trespasser if Cole is made more of a spirit. He either hooks up with or gets rejected by Maryden, depending on whether Krem is alive.

EA is unlikely to approve of any singleplayer games that don’t have an MP component.

You'd think the irrelevance of MP in Inquisition would deter them from trying again. Pure waste of resources. And almost certainly at the behest of EA.

I would like a Multiplayer like Rockstar usually does with their games. Kind of a open sandbox you can run around in and mess around with stuff.
RDR2's multiplayer is just an extension of its single player... kind of like how you could run around the world with your Warden after completing the game.

I do not think daimp was a money maker, not sure if meamp was a money maker either. They dumped support for those pretty quickly.

People still play it and many people played it a lot. If they would have out more resources into it it would have been better.

They aren't going to compete with Battlefield, Fortnite or Warframe. Frankly. Anthem will be lucky to do that, and Anthem is their lead IP now. Why not commit to SP for DA? There's no way they'll put the same MP resources into DA MP anyway.

DAI’s model of MP may not have been a moneymaker, but DA4’s model might be. The prospect of ongoing profits after game sales is too enticing of a shiny lure for EA not to chase it. As a great philosopher once said, there ain’t no pumpkin that’s ever been fucked so hard that EA won’t try to stick its dick in it.

I'd rather have SP expansions for what is traditionally a SP experience. I don’t play MP either, I just think it will indirectly improve the SP experience. For one, MP players typically pay quite a bit more than SP players, which gives Bioware more resources for all the content, MP and SP. On top of that, from a developer perspective, people are more likely to test stuff when it’s fun. So I benefit when Bioware has a nice fleshed-out MP experience that they can use to test general combat balance, vs. if they have to test combat by repeating the same handful of SP fights, which will get boring for them due to how many times they’ll have to play the same fight. They might also use the more scenario-focused setting to quickly mock up fights they’re noodling on for SP. In other words, this is the kind of tool that they’d need to test SP combat anyway, so why not polish it up a bit and get some extra money off it?

As long as it is in NO WAY CONNECTED to the SP (same as Inquisition), then I'm good. Indeed so long as they're seperate entities like in DAI I'm good too as I have no interest in MP I buy Bioware's games for their SP experiences.

I don’t play MP.It could be made of cakes and rainbows or a screaming dumpster fire, it doesn’t affect me in the slightest. I wouldn’t be playing it even if it’s great. However, the devs have mentioned that they use it to help test SP, so I benefit from its existence. I found Inquisition’s combat to be very satisfying, mechanically. The stats and abilities had a good interplay with each other, with a rewardingly high ceiling if I sat down and optimized. So as far as I’m concerned, whatever testing they do is working. I hope they continue to do the same in DA4.
