I'm working my way through the Challenge of Valor (which is a pain in my rear arse) because it's so freaking long.....I mean, "100 World Events" C'mon! That alone is taking forever....I'd hate to see what they other Legionnaires' Challenges are like. Probably something like "120 World Events, 75 Contracts, 90 Quick Plays" or some other utterly absurd expectation.

Yesterday I got VOLTAIC DOME.. in MW, but its still really good! Then again, I'm not very fond of staying my shield open with colossus for a long time, the other gear with lighting randomly targeting enemies and 3x hit = explosion is nicer. But! Freezing enemies is as great as in MEAMP so paired with a good player like correctamundo we exploded quite a lot with comboing

One thing I noticed from the start, but it's been puzzling me more and more as of late....is when we are in the bar- even if Amal asks if we want to buy a drink (or something to that effect), why can't we actually order a drink (like in ME)? I mean, it's a bar....and other people are drinking, why can't I/we? Fighting Dominion, Scars etc is hard work and makes me thirsty!
As well as my own apartment somewhere in the Fort, I would like to be able to actually buy and drink a drink when I go to the bar every now and then....Not just stand around and talk, while watching other people drink.

As well as my own apartment somewhere in the Fort, I would like to be able to actually buy and drink a drink when I go to the bar every now and then....Not just stand around and talk, while watching other people drink. Me too! Who does a girl have to shock mace to get a mojito around here?? While on the subject of shock, I joined Lucky Jak on a contract. Some archenist studying the wildlife wanted us to set up observation equipment in the Korox Shallows. As we took off from Fort Tharsis, I couldn't help but to notice the sorry shape of his jav. I mean, it flies and handles alright, but it looks dreadful. Paint chipped, scratches and even a couple of dents. When I asked Jak about it he just laughed and said he didn't want to waste his hard earned cash on paint and vinyls and such because "it always get torn up again."
I should have taken that as a warning of things to come.
Jak insisted we take it slow enough that he could gather crafting material. He seems to go through ember like Owen went through sandwiches. We where down by the Tarsis Falls when the sky suddenly opens up and the rain starts coming down so thick we can hardly see an arm's length in front of us. Jak's thrusters get drenched and trying to help him I get electrocuted by the pack of tesliars he crashed into! Because of course he couldn't have crashed into something harmless like a pack of grabbits or something. We end up having to walk the rest of the way to the Shallows!
As you know, walking is not the safest way of traveling. EVERYTHING thinks you're its next lunch. It takes us hours to get to the Shallows, and by the time we reach it, my javelin is in the same sorry state as Jak's. And I just had it cleaned, painted and decked out with fancy pants vinyls. *sigh*
Anyway, so we reach the Shallows and start setting up the equipment when we hear this screech. Yes, you guessed it: Wyverns. They were circling the Shallows and harassing the koroxes.
Jak gets online with the archenist, telling her that the pack is too riled up for us to be able to set up the monitors in the spots she wants them. When she hears about the Wyverns she gets really upset. It seems Wyverns sees baby koroxes as a delicacy. She ask us to protect the pack and chase off the Wyverns!
So, there we where, playing hide and seek with a bunch of angry koroxes while taking down Wyverns. It was chaos. But did it end there, nooo... Turns out Dominion had set up a camp nearby and all the noise caught their attention. They swarm the Shallows so now we're fighting them as well and if that isn't enough we get attacked by Scars too! I have no idea what they were doing in the area. Maybe they were having a Luminary-convention because they were accompanied by three Luminaries!
Jak and I began to realise that we where in some serious trouble. Not only where we outnumbered, we were outgunned and out-everything. Then the koroxes attacked!
This could have been the end. But the koroxes attacked the Luminaries! With them preoccupied, Jak and I made quick work of the few surviving Wyverns before dealing with the Dominion forces. It wasn't easy, but in the end we managed to set up the observation equipment and get back to Tharsis before the next rainstorm rolled in.
I'm beginning to see why Jak's called lucky. I'm just not sure what kind of luck it is...
Nah... none of that happened. But it would have been fun if it had.

Nah... none of that happened. But it would have been fun if it had. Your imagination is endearing. While fort tarsis could have been more... well, just, "more", I would not hold that as the primary changes to be made to the game. Since I've exhausted all story content, I don't even wander FT anymore. Hopefully with new story this'll be more needed again. Which does beg the question... the "cataclysm", will it be story or just a gameplay event?

I've been wondering that myself. EA's official Anthem-page is less than forthcoming on the subject.
I'm hoping that whatever it is, it comes with a story.

Actually getting the opportunity to fly with Jak would be amazing....That sounds like it would make for a fun mission if it could ever happen.

Today in anthem: Tried a lot more colossus to get some MW components and a voltaic dome, but failed miserably. Got tired of him. So switched back to my storm: it feels SOOOOOOOO good to dodge after you've played colossus for 2 hours, but on the downside, it does demonstrate how much of a paper weight slugger storm is. I never had any issues with it until I got used to the colossus's tankiness. Though to be fair, I have a lot more good armor inscriptions for the colossus than I do shield inscriptions for my storm (rng be damned), so... I need more storm grinding I guess :/ Tinkered a bit with my storm's look, and he now has a gold streak which I really like (well, not "gold", as I'm only a 5th of the champion of tarsis, but the brass pseudo-gold). Finally, finished my evening by doing a legendary mission (finding matthias is a fun one), and 2 limes dropped in the final room. 1 component for pistols with crap inscriptions (but I didn't have the component yet, so it's a nice OCD completionist fix, I suppose), and one legendary Yvenia with 85% shield and 55% armor, which makes it a nice stat stick, and a good legendary addition for my Raiden Thunderlord build. So this pleased me. Still no ponder infinity or black ice though I think my storm's soul will still haunt the anthem servers years after they've closed down for those two anyway, bought DMC5 and rdr2 at a discount 45euros, soooo... might switch to one of those. Depending on my fancy. Maybe... When is EA play? and E3? Because cataclysm will probably be around that time.

A little bemused by today's 'rolling in the mud' wrap. Reminds me of the 'Spoils of the Avvar' looks. I see BioWare didn't think this wrap would sustain a pricing of 61,000 Coin, but instead went for 40,000. Hmmm.

I think the wrap at 40,000 is a solid mid-range price between the armor sets and the lessor emotes and mats. One of the open requs on BioWare hiring page is a "System Designer I" with "experience in Store Management and Reward Pipeline" so I can imagine that finding ways to better price leverage the different products in the store is on the agenda.

Are you and him in some kind of "Who can be the bigger hero contest?" It's not a contest. My Javelin looks better, my...*guns*...are bigger (Eww, not those guns-- but yes, they are bigger, but...I mean my Siege Breakers, fully-automatic Assault-based Masterwork Sniper Rifles)...and Grabbits like me a whole lot more! So there! No, seriously....Grabbits for some reason, really do seem to like me...They're always coming up to me, sniffing my suit curiously (yes yes, I shower often twice a day- before and after missions, and clean my Javelin every day.....NOthing worse than a stank-smelling Javelin that smells of weeks' old sweat, blood and KS....so I clean my Javelin reguarly) but then they'll flop at my feet and roll around in the grass almost begging me to play with them! And I want to! I do! I wanna pick one up, cuddle it and carry it back to......my apartment at the Fort where I keep it as a well-behaved pet.

This is better than anything you actually do in Anthem. I WISH Anthem had missions like this. AI companions traveling with you out in the world. Great writing. Very creative.

Today in anthem: My sacrifice to Cthulu has been answered! The bathroom is a complete mess, but who cares?! imgur.com/CyY2PyRPonder infinity, bitches! With a sweet sweet damage roll!I basically get 400%+ damage bonus when hovering XD No shield can stand against this Man, what a relief, I must say. (... okay the cynic in me tells me that having at least +100% charges would have been a lot better... but whatever, I've already learned to play around that, and so long as my black ice has 2 charges I'm good. Also, maybe the mastery system will fix that?) Only one more legendary gear to go!!! Lime Black ice, here I come baby! Also, a second lime dropped... look at these ridiculous inscriptions imgur.com/N4j6XpSPS: I'm sorry but posting links is all I can do. the img [] just won't work for me for some reason...

I'm pondering the infinity.
I feel so small and insignificant now...
Reminder to self: Must level up and find better gear. No need to get limes though. I got a whole bowl of them.

When I asked Jak about it he just laughed and said he didn't want to waste his hard earned cash on paint and vinyls and such because "it always get torn up again." I should have taken that as a warning of things to come.
This is better than anything you actually do in Anthem. I WISH Anthem had missions like this. AI companions traveling with you out in the world. Great writing. Very creative.
If you liked that, you're going to love what happened yesterday!
I was out scouting for limes because the bar had run out again. and I do enjoy a cold mojito after a hot day of freelancing. So, I was in the Valley of Tarsis close to Governor Springs when Faye told me she picked up a distress call from a Freelancer somewhere in the area. We track the signal, and who do I find if not Lucky Jak! Although he didn't look so lucky, stuck in mud and circled by frost hounds.
I dispatched the hounds and managed to free Jak. His javelin was caked with mud and looked even worse than usual. He told me the hounds had tracked him all the way from Shadowmark. Apparently he'd tried out a new air freshner for the jav. The salesperson claimed it would completely get rid of any pungent odours and leave your javelin smelling like brand new. Sadly, he forgot to mention that it also attracts wildlife that... how shall I put it... has amorous intentions.
After I had stopped laughing, I agreed to escort Jak back to Fort Tarsis.
We took off, making our way through the valley. I was beginning to think that Jak had misinterpret the hounds' intentions when we suddenly hear this... howl. I look over my shoulder and I see three Ursixes storming through the vegetation! As you probably know, looking over your shoulder isn't recommended during flying. It even says so on the first page of the Freelancer handbook. I ended up crashing into a rock and hit the ground about the same time as the Ursixes caught up with us.
To his credit, Jak didn't even hesitated before he jumped to my defense. But unlucky for him, though in retrospect, very lucky for me, all three of the Ursixes focused all their attention on him. Climbing to my feet, I threw an acid bomb in their general direction while Jak started laying down some oppressive fire, but the Ursixes just ignored it. Then one of them snatched him right out of the air!
I could only watch as it took off. The other two roared and threw rocks at it. The Ursix holding Jak started climbing the nearest cliff still holding Jak who was dangling like a rag doll in its grip. Before I could do anything to help him, the two remaining Ursixes turn their attention on me!
By the time I had dealt with them, I had lost all sight of the Ursix holding Jak. I had to ask Faye to scan the area. Together we managed to track his signal to a cave nearby. I had tried to raise him on his link, but there was no reply so it was with trepidation I started searching the cave. I was maybe two kilometers in when I started hearing these strange noises that grew louder and louder the further in I got. Then I turned around a corner and I swear, I wasn't sure if I could believe my eyes or not!
The Ursix was sitting on the floor and it was still holding Jak, licking him like a kid licks an ice-cream!
Even through the visor I could tell the look on Jak's face was one of pure desperation. I was trying to figure out how to distract the Ursix without accidentally ending up shooting Jak or cover him in acid or something. It's really hard to aim when you're fighting off fits of the giggles at the same time. But before I could attempt anything, the Ursix curled up and fell asleep, hugging Jak to it. It took us some time to gently free him from it's embrace, but we finally did.
When we got back to Fort Tarsis (after first having flown through every damn waterfall and lake and pond so he could wash Ursix saliva off his jav), Jak tried to talk me into keeping quiet about what had happened. But of course his adventure with the Ursix has to be told! Like I told him, I don't share the story for the fun of it. No, we need to inform other Freelancers to stay away from new scents until they've been tested in the field. Safety first, lancers!
Oh, I hear Max's serving frozen booze on a stick and is calling it the Jaksicle.
