*snip to make the quote less long*. Hey, is posting first thing in the mornings at work also part of your morning routine? In any case, some good news for a change! Before yesterday evening, I was at 170 opened support war chests, with 0 legendaries for el ranchero. Yesterday, I did 4 cata runs (one with each javelin to get the daylies, and to get some masterworks for colossus and interceptor I didn't have yet). At the end of the evening I had saved up about enough crystals for 45 gear chests. So I figured I'd do another chest opening sequence, and get my number up to 200... The first 29 left me a bit distraught, as I had received yet 2 more lemon target beacons for the @%#&% interceptor (I don't like the interceptr gameplay, sorry XCTPNL, and even if I do, I use rally cry anyway... that makes for 9 lemon target beacons in total that I received ), and one lemon wind wall. But then. Number 200. Literally chest number 200. Redemption. Freedom. Exhilaration! A LEMON RANGER SUPPORT GEAR. Even the correct one with additional 'nade charges! Man was I ever so happy. It sadly didn't have extra charges, but that was okay, it had combo damage inscription, so we good What a relief. Man, what an ending to the night. It was 1AM and I was dead tired, but my adrenaline kept me up for another half an hour XD So now my storm and ranger are both shiny gleamy in legendary weapons, gear, and components. Real sleek This whole RNG story reminds me sooooooooooooo much of gambling at Kadala for a specific gear - like Kyoshiros soul - spending thousands upon thousands of bloodshards getting Krelms buff belt in droves. But then finally kazaam it is there in your bags! So many rifts, so many shards but then your build is perfected. Makes me jump out of my chair, geefully shouting, down the stairs etc, wifey wonders if I'm having some kind of seizure. Right now I'm gambling at Hershels for a lime Rampager. Please, pleeeaaase RNGeezuz hear my prayer!

PillarBiter : I know the feeling of "the one loadout that does everything" and for a limited time that was actually possible because of the jav-wide damage. But with those no longer affecting melee, combo and ultimate damage it really changes things a lot and it's usually "either go this way or the other". Of course hybrid builds are still possible and sometimes a good option, it's just much harder to balance them evenly - especially with the lack of inscription-switching and such. I also wish we could have "the good" stuff on the javelin specific components and not just the universal ones. I can't understand how one can not like the awesomeness of the Interceptor. The movement alone is worth so much. But I guess I get it how not every javelin is meant for each player. I mean I have tried really hard to like the Storm as you may remember... but I just couldn't really get into it. I wish I could take a look at your target beacons though and trade the best one with you if any of them are good. Mine isn't too bad actually but not really great either. It has global recharge so that's really helpful. The only other one I got was total crap. I have 1 rallye cry as well but without extra charges it just takes too long to recharge. If I get a good one I might switch although it's really hard to give up that extra damage from target beacon. On my bulwark point I have 200 charges and it's really nice. If I remember to use it that is. Because I still forget to actually use it most of the time. It's just totally not in my muscle memory to use a support item on the Ranger (but spam it on the Interceptor). I might be going for the other one as it pushes ALL damage but then again the duration is so short and usually I'm not standing inside the bubble for long. So it would mostly be useful for maximizing damage when popping the ultimate attack. Anyways, congratulations that you got some useful things. It can be very frustrating opening these boxes and burning through all the crystals without much to show for or items that are for other javelins that you don't play... Now about that combo damage... I'll leave this here (it's captured from the stronghold semi solo video that youtube is processing right now). Please note that this is obviously not the standard amount of damage I get from combos. Ice usually does less than fire, especially vs. armor. Also the Rampager buff is active. Too bad I can't equip Symbiotic Surge right now because I have 2 slots occupied with stupid ammunition components for weapons I don't even have on that javelin... I have a rally cry with 200% charges. It's REALLY useful for the interceptor and I can spam it as often as needed. Especially with the constant frost in the cataclysm. It also helps the team a lot. Yeah, each his own javelin I prefer the ranger's movement. it is easier to control yet he gets around very well too. It's a lot easier to go where I want to go with the ranger than with the interceptor. Yeah, support is indeed not in the muscle memory. It's been this useless gear for so long. As my ranger I usually only think of it when my 'nade spamming taps out, and I remember I got 2 more charges in my back pocket As a storm, I mainly use it for the inscriptions >_> (my anthem's grace, or whatsitscalled, has +40% javelin wide gear recharge, so that's nice on top of it's own bonus. So I'm trying to learn to use it whenever I hover.) I'm going to be jealous of the combo damage, right? In any case. 250k is on my non-optimised-for-combo's javelin. So I can go a lot higher Curious for your number, though.

Hey, is posting first thing in the mornings at work also part of your morning routine? *cough* also mine *cough* also insomnia posting *cough*
yesterday in Anthem: I learned that there are still pugs that don't know about the Britaheim puzzle: so first one pug locked us (me and some slawish fellow) in the underwater room the dude then screamed with a wonderful heavy accent "hey you foolz, open ze door!!"- we held our breaths as long as we could but when nothing happened we nonetheless came up for air - so it took a long while to finish that event... his comment: "whott iz rongg wiz you noooobs!??!" ... after that: Casja was uneventful and quick, Diana too... surprisingly Kelrik was much better though only one of the other 3 (don't know if it was the dude or not) and me finished the puzzle and then some secrets and Vara... all in all OK'ish
RNGesus still doesn't like me much though - loot was very uneventful and the war chests were meh as well

Trying to make those hybrid builds again. The Interceptor is really giving me such a hard time because there's so much more to it than simply switching components. Abilities play a role as do weapons and it's really hard to make something work in a way I like it. If I use my preferred abilities I lack melee damage considerably. If I use other abilities it's hard to combine two of them in a meaningful way and I usually lack ultimate recharge possibilities. Can't go all primer either but if I switch the blades then there's not much benefit to using the abilities that made me wanna switch to detonating blades in the first place. It's an endless nightmare right now. The only good thing about the Interceptor is that you basically only really need one of the class-specific components and can go universal with the rest. If I build a Ranger hybrid I have an easier time but at the same time I usually need 3 slots for class-specific mods.

so this morning in Anthem I thought - well between 7 and 8 a.m. in the morning no one will play, right? so I can work on the solo-no-kill challenges (at least for Magnus, Casja and Kelrik) ... well, the team was full in no time (talking about no one is playing, yeah right ) ... but so I couldn't do Magnus (was too grumpy and tired to communicate ^^) but abandoned the team (felt a bit bad ) and did Casja and Kelrik (though Kelrik is a bit annoying with the turrets but I remained a pacifist) and rejoined the team for Diana (Jeez on normal you just look at enemies and they die ^^ Vara was dead within less than 1 ultimate) - even got 2 MWs (dublicates, but nice that they drop on normal for peeps to gear up ) now back to GM1 (and maybe I can find some peeps who would be so kind to no-kill-do Brittaheim & Magnus with me ) BTW - for you PROs out there: how is the transition from GM1 to GM2 (and GM2 to GM3 for that matter)

I started to try going from GM1 to GM2...once upon a long time ago. Then decided I didn't need that kind of stress in my life so I didn't bother after that 😂. I haven't tried since all the balance changes, but I probably will attempt it again soon, GM1 is too easy for me 90% of the time and it does get a little boring. The only problem is, I don't have anyone to play with so I'm at the mercy of the puglords.

Its not that bad from gm1 to 2. Or 3. No long post today, as i have a holiday 😜 Also, nothing temarkable happened, except i found a decent enough ranger hybrid which does both 300k+ combo damage consistently and still had plenty of ults. If i wish for one thing for ranger, its that if they ever make a 2nd version of ember’s lance it’s that it primes. I need a primer on my right bumper that isnt acid 😕

Dekibra : I find it best to do some of the challenges with a full team of people who you can talk to and who all want to do it. It's probably a nightmare trying to do some of the things in a match with randos, especially the no-kill challenges. As far as transitioning from one difficulty to another is concerned it has gotten much easier - the game overall as well as switching to another difficulty. I don't think you can give general advice about it (like: you need this or that level) - because it's highly dependent on many factors... your knowledge of the missions you want to play, your skill in handling your javelin, the build you are running and the inscriptions you have on the items you are using... I'd say: just try it. Start with easier stuff like Freeplay on a higher difficulty, then contracts and legendary contracts, legendary missions, strongholds and finally the cataclysm. They all scale a bit differently in difficulty. PillarBiter : I agree on the Ember's Lance even though I have only used it for 1 or 2 games when I got one. Feels weird that it doesn't prime. To be honest I think every ability in this game should either prime or detonate otherwise they are a bit useless compared to other abilities - even if they deal high damage. But some of the stuff needs a serious rework anyways. On the other hand I have never missed a primer in that slot for the Ranger. Always ran Recurring Vengeance (and now sometimes Relentless Pursuit) in it and I usually prime with other things... acid, fire, ice, electricity can all be applied with guns and the melee weapon depending on the loadout. Right now I prime acid with both guns, fire on top of that with Ralner's and ice with the frost grenades. And detonate with Recurring/Relentless and Rampager. correctamundo : Nice one. I got some with nice damage rolls as well but I want one with ultimate damage or something that is helping the build more overall because I rarely use the mace for melee damage and mainly for detonations. Nevertheless a nice drop.

Ooh, i also tried that softened blows + storm component that reduces damage on shield break. That coupled with my + 300% shield inscription and melee shield recovery made me near invincible, lol. Think ill keep that combo. It coats me damage, but whatever. Im immortal, got all the time in the world.

Funny you mention that setup because I remember me talking about it in our discussion in the other thread when I was playing around with the Storm. I used that combination right away and you always get 5 seconds combined full invincibility. if you quickly recover the shield you can do that all the time. I was basically "tanking" Scelos in the old patch 1.2.1 with it. Just hovered right at the entrance and did my thing. Sometimes I had to dodge to recover shields but then I could get hit again.

It's raining limes hallelujah it's raining limes! Limes that I've already gotten 🤦♀️. I think I have around 6 Vassa's Suprises, anyone want to trade for the 1 component I don't have?? Anyway I think I got maybe 4 or 5 limes last night in around 2 hours, 3 in the one run. Led some people around, only to get lost on the way back from my buddy kelrik's place, sorry pugs 😬. Had to switch back to easy (not exaaaaaclty cheating, just using the situation to my advantage lol) to finish off the focus and swiftness challenges cos there was no way I would manage to do those no kill challenges with all these full lobbies. Still have the britaheim one to do, can that be solo'd in any way?

Britaheim can be solo’d quite easy, but you need storm or interceptor to do it. I think only Magnus can’t be solo’d. Can confirm Magnus can be done if pugs dont go there and you do it on easy. Lots of people go to easy for the swiftness challenge - basically fly straight to Vara and nuke her. This basically relies on a low lobby and luck that the pugs are solely there for that reason if you aren't playing with friends. Will try your suggestion tonight...may even take my storm on its maiden voyage 😂

Last night I played around some more in the forge and my N7 Interceptor now has an even darker tone of black. Or maybe not but more of a matte black finish. Really nice.
