Tried GM 1 for the first time. Got my ass handed to me. Need to grind up further. I tried GM1 yesterday too. I think one of my hits was enough to kill mobs twice. My primer was 1-shotting things, lol. One Ultimate was enough to get about half the health of the Tyrant boss. Back to GM2 (where 1 hit is 1 kill) and GM3 (where sometimes I may need to press the attack button twice...on weakest mobs). I think Bioware still tweaks the difficulty on server side as some enemies seem to change in health and damage from hour to hour.

On an other note. NEW CONVOS today! So far Neeson and Dax. Something is stirring as @grinch already noted. Oh, looking forward to them.
When am I finishing my work today? Still few hours? Damn!

Hourly? Hm...
It occurs to me that this "balancing dance" must be more of an art than based on defensive shielding/armour and DPS. We know, that a human player can run rings around the pathetic AI enemies. So what is the goal here? Ten minutes/combat? Buff the computer opponent with 5x the numbers of human players? Scale the human DPS based on team numbers? What about player skill levels (not the gear & weapons)?
Vets at higher lvls bring a certain combat awareness, a force multiplier if you will. A full organized team can bring a choreographic combat dance into play. Bio's programmers can't code for beans the computer opponents and are force to "bullet sponge" them. Bring a disorganized team and their azzez are handed to them in a platter.
How do you "balance" combat with organized and disorganized teams? Focus only on the organized? The disorganized will cry foul, I'm sure. Dynamic tweaking may be the answer but my reply is that the effect depends on the team's coherence and loadout. Unless, Bio's mind is set to the notion that for GM combat, the team knows what they are doing and set the "balancing" scales to that assumption.

I finished grinding out 100 world events for the Challenge this morning. This evening I’ll start on quickplays.
Also got my first legendary weapon to drop, an LMG that absolutely melts most enemies.

Bats. Bats in caves. Bats in caves flying out to meet the gathering gloom. Probably always been there, but first time to experience it.
New … the Bard arguing/bickering with the Etiquette/Grammar lady … more interesting than some of the other side conversations about the Fort.
The Bard's stories … finished the Challenge of Valor and started the Challenge of Might …
Nice little side story interludes … where my friends got to wait on me this time, while I did stuff in Ft Tarsis.

I'm grinding the freeplay challenges now. Drop rate has been so-so, but haven't done much. It's nice if you get a coordinated random team going, though.
Also, is freeplay balanced for solo play? Because enemies seem to die a lot easier than, say, on legendary contracts or strongholds. Also, has GM2 been increased in damage yet again? Because I seem to wildly very from day to day between dying a lot by one shot kills, or dying only sometimes. Or does it have to do more with me not equiping all possibl legendaries? Does gear rank affect shield as well as damage? ALSO: How much more shield does a legendary component give over a masterwork component?

Now I know why some people disappear for a minute or two, I doubt it increases mw chance though We did that mini-boss with saandrig a few times now and drops are actually not that good, RNG rulez regardless.
Also, you don't need to worry about being pulled out from a fight by others rushing ahead, the first big circle door won't open untill all four players are in close vicinity, so you have enough time to kill that guy.
EDIT: Another useful info might be though that killing mobs in tunnels and between encounter locations is really worth it, rushing ahead is not a good idea, since players are reporting that killing them has a rather good chance for MW and Legendary drops (my experience also, at least one, maybe two, of my Legendaries are from those scorpions in the first tunnel right after the first big circle door, and IIRC saandrig's too).

IMO, since I experienced that a lot (both with saandrig), they're adjusting or balancing Freeplay on the go, one hour it's like a breeze, the other like a devil made contract with mobs...

As for the damage issue in GM2...Well, it's complicated. Some of us have a feeling the devs tweak the difficulty on server side in the past few days as we see the same enemies changing in health and damage output. Then there is the health bar glitch that is confirmed by Bioware to not be just a visual problem sometimes, but actually affect and reduce your health. And then there is the shield problem - players found out that the higher your gear score is, the weaker your shields are, as in you take more damage and get killed faster than a player with much lower gear score. As a BSNer put it - the shields scale "in the wrong fucking way". However a high gear score (especially without a Support item) increases your damage (melee and Ultimate the most) by quite a bit, so if you use an Ultimate build, put as many Legendaries as you can. And if you are a Storm, you can currently be immortal due to the Ultimate cancel weapon switch bug.

Wow. really well thought out and seems patchable at first sight. I agree with almos everything, except the masterwork drop rate should be very much higher on GM2-3-4. (30-40-50, respectively), as epics serve no use at that point. Also, I don't think perks should be able to be chose, but they should be able to be re-rolled while keeping one perk you like.

I'd be very careful exploiting this. This is one of those things that is clearly an exploit and clearly gives a significant advantage in combat (if pulling it off is consistent, then it's effectively invincibility mode and that would be serious enough to classify it as game-breaking IMO). Bioware has shown that it is willing to hand out permanent bans to people who abuse exploits (the whole incident with Gladd or however you spell his name).

Much worse exploits have been abused thus far (and put on video) and I am yet to hear anyone being banned for them. Hell, I would like to hear about anyone being banned or Bioware even warning about exploit abuse. It will mean Bioware gives a damn about the game. But as the population seems to shrink and there is no PVP, I doubt Bioware has the will to drive off even cheating customers. Blatant hackers in SWTOR are doing their thing for years now, brag with YT videos and at worst receive a couple weeks ban.

I've yet to hear of 'ordinary players' being banned for taking advantage of exploits (though I find they make the game less fun).
Gladd was showing people how to exploit the game which drew attention from EA.
