Just imagine the fight scenes, the character development, the soundtrack!
Please Bioware, please do this!

Eh. I don't watch tv. I suppose more exposure in other media forms would be a good thing for the franchise though.

I would watch one I guess, but I’m not particularly into the idea.
I’d much a prefer a Telltale style game set in the Dragon Age setting.

I'd certainly watch an animated feature, though I can't say I'm really chomping at the bit for one. A series with really high production value would certainly get my attention though.
Pie-in-the-sky? A live-action production (HBO, Netflix, etc.) on the level of Game of Thrones would be the dream.

A priority for me would for it to be an original story set in thedas rather than an adaptation of the games.

I do and I don't...the latter because I don't want them taking time and resources away from creating the new game. The delay has been long enough, dammit. But it would be neat to have a miniseries based on the First Blight or somesuch.

It is highly dependent on the setting and story. I prefer that Dragon Age be fleshed out through the games. I can appreciate the novels for the way they've done them with barely alluding to established canon -- they apply to almost everyone. A novel is just a better format for some stories and development as the writer is not constrained by presenting everything from the perspective of the PC. I'm not at all interested in the comics, but I buy and read them because Dragon Age.
As for David Gaider, as much as I associate him with Dragon Age, and will certainly be missing him on the next game, no to that. He is no longer attached to Bioware and burned out on working for the game. I'm happy to let the man do his own thing apart from Dragon Age.
So I suppose I'd say that I'd reluctantly consume such material. I want more Dragon Age games where I can roleplay and be IN the world, not passive entertainment.

Well there has already been one animated feature, where Cassandra was originally introduced. I've never actually watched it but did it attract any more people to the game?
Then there was Felicia Day's live action effort, which I did watch and had mixed feelings about. Okay it was very low budget but I don't really feel it added to the game world.
The problem with Game of Thrones TV series has been how much it started changing from the books as it progressed. I am not sure how much control the original author had over that. Look what a dog's dinner the Hobbit turned out to be; Tolkien would have been turning in his grave.
So I would be very wary about anything that was a spin off of Dragon Age, even more so if it was big budget because of the amount of control/lack of it that Bioware would ultimately have over it. Making a film of the story we are already familiar with would likely be dissatisfying too because everyone has their own Warden/Hawke/Inquisitor so it would be even worse than when you have visualised a hero in a book in your own way and then the film maker's is totally different.

First, I don’t think DG should be at the helm anymore than I should, as he has no TV experience.
Second, Dragon Age has been attempted in other mediums and the experience is left wanting. I think the franchise has done pretty well with novels, comics and games.

I suspect our ideas of "done right" are very different, because I don't want Gaider making the storytelling decisions.

I wouldn't want any series that depicted events of the games, I've no interest in seeing some other warden/inquisitor/Hawke go through events. But I'd watch a new story set in thedas. Like king calenhad uniting the Alamarri, an earlier blight, the exalted march against the qun, etc.

If done well, I'd give it a try, though I think I'd prefer an animated version to a live action one. I totally agree with people about a new story. I would hate to see a "fanservice" interpretation of the PC's we have had. I'd love for a return to the gritty setting of DAO and feel like it would be great as the setting for a DA show.

Dragon Age already is an animated interactive experience. I mean Inquisition was so cinematic, you could take each of the main quests as an episode. I'm all for more content, but I don't really think a movie or cartoon are necessary since that stuff is already inherent to the game.

Also, the Dragon Age setting is pretty generic, so I would need either an extremely good plot hook, or an EXTREMELY gay cast of characters.
And yes, as others have said, it would ideally focus on original characters and a new story.

With David Gaider at the helm? Definitely not... Also, the story of Dragon Age just isn't interesting enough. Mass Effect would be better. I dunno, maybe if a really great writer got a hold of it and played in the world, using completely different characters.

I would like to see it if it were animated and done in the vein of the Castlevania animated series. Dark and gritty. Live action would look too low budget (remember that Mark of the Assassin tie in?).

No, personally I'm not interested in video game adaptions, regardless of who's writing it. I'm not into TV much anyways, and would much rather just stick to video games.

They're both great animated shows, but I don't see how anyone can look at Dragon "teehee I stole their pants, throw goats at buildings, sentence corpses to community service" Age, and think "Oh yeah, this is like Castlevania". Although Castlevania did have one great bit of hilarity that I suspect was unintended.
