May be coincidence … but since they have vastly reduced the number of "error loading pilot data" events and getting pulled back into the fort (virtual server shutdown) … when there is an uptick in those events, it seems like within the next 24 hours, the EA server has significant connection issues. Again, may just be coincidence or simply an imagined correlation on my part … but this is at least the second time where I've noticed a couple of "harbingers" … "error loading pilot data" and "you've lost EA server connection" … preceding the "arrival" of server connectivity issues.
On another note … probably not a lot of folks have created a second or more pilots (as opposed to additional Javelins for the same pilot) … but for two days running, when I've been doing my story with the second pilot … friends came online and wanted to play … so I switched back to my original pilot … and voip didn't work. Had to restart both the game and Origin to get voip functioning again … restarting the game by itself didn't fix it. Two days in a row, with different folks. Voip can get a bit flaky at times … but this is new (for me). I'm guessing that the issue is less about Anthem and more about Origin. I think the convoluted process you have to go through to switch pilots confuses Origin … so Anthem plays a part, but mostly, I think it's Origin.
On a separate note … not a bug … but why can't we give our pilots unique names? The call sign "choice" isn't … so both my pilots have the same name and I have to remember which one is active, before I launch the game. On the bright side, the original pilot is always at the top of the list and the second pilot is next in line. I'm guessing if I did a third pilot, it would always hold the third position. As I said, not a bug, just a whine … now where'd I put that cheese block?

On Xbox it very happily lets you call your pilots different callsigns, so I do have different names. Odd not to allow that on PC?

Maybe it is bugged (on PC).
Which might mean it gets fixed in a patch … hope I can go back and rename them … nothing cosmic or original … Male Lancer and Female Lancer.

I can't even connect today....not even getting past the Main Menu before it totally crashes and kicks me back out to the Desktop. And the past two days have been totally without sound (I've been told this is the Frostbite 'sound bug' that is inherent to the engine)...But prior to this patch I've never had any issues at all.
What gives?

I'm on PC … it might be different on consoles, but the sound bug shouldn't be constant. I have not had it in Anthem in several weeks. I've also noted it is hitting me less often in MEAMP … but it can be very streaky, so that may be coincidence and not something BioWare did server-side.
If it hits you, it will be at some seemingly random point in the game … you lose all game sounds (but voip still works) and have to completely close the game and restart (going back to the main menu doesn't work). Game sound is restored upon restart. If your game sounds are gone from the beginning and have not been there for the last two days … that's something different from the Frostbite sound bug. Could certainly be another bug … just a different one.
I had one CTD two days ago, none yesterday, but have not yet tried to play today. For me, CTDs have been very rare … (virtual) server shutdown and error loading pilot data are the big annoyances (albeit much less frequent than before).

I'm on PC.....and after several CTDs this morning, I was finally able to get on with no issues (not even the sound bug) today for about an hour. Everything seems to be fine and I had fun playing with random people....(HappyQuickly,PaperFish6). I would gladly join their squad again if they would have me.

Yeah … wasn't going to be anything original or dramatic (Female Lancer / Male Lancer) …
But for whatever reason, when I created them, it plugged in the default Origin ID and wouldn't let me change it.
I thought it might be a PC vs console thing ('cause SJ could give his console lancers unique names) … but that appears to not be the case.
Would be nice to add the ability to *ahem* change the pilot's call sign.

My main issue with multiple pilots is it keeps resetting the 'hours played' values whenever I switch. I have no way to know how many hours I've played as adding them both up could sometimes be as low as ten hours between them!

When you press the pilot button off the main screen to switch pilots or create a new one each pilot is displayed for you to select between along with the hours played for that pilot. Except that the hours played, for me at least, has not been accurate ever since I created my second pilot.

Nice to know I'm not the only one.
I posted this as a bug report on the EA Technical Issues forum back in March and have mentioned it a couple of times on BSN but nobody else has ever reported the issue. I was beginning to think it was just a glitch that only affected me!

...I may or may not have just found out where to find it I'm gonna say its showing instead the average hours a week I used to be playing. I'll see if starting a new pilot will jump start it or something.

Every time I switch pilots, the numbers are different … not increasing over time … just randomly changing to some value from 0 to 21.

I actually came up with a cool anime-esque name, (Topsy Budapest). I was soooo disappointed when I finally got to fly my Javelin and my name was my Origin login (Agingamer52). My login just doesn't have the same cool factor as Topsy.
