The Cataclysm bug … getting stuck in a loading screen and can't get into a Cataclysm match … isn't necessarily fixed by reinstalling the game.
My friend uninstalled and downloaded/reinstalled the game … but when we tried to play a match, she still wasn't able to join us.
Instead, we did a few strongholds, a few world events in freeplay, two storm anomalies and then jumped into a legendary contract.
No problems there … just the issue with playing the Cataclysm.
BioWare is … aWare … so hoping they are quietly preparing a fix for this.
Another day since the 1.3 patch and the game looks stable in freeplay … that's progress.

This patch feels like it was made without all the patches since day 1 and then merged together with the day zero version.
Why is the geomitry sometimes disappearing in plain sight, why is the UI never ready on time, why does the expedition complete screen stuck all the time and why do the subtitles no longer have margins anymore? I like the Cataclysm but the way this patch affected the base game sucks.

I used to use FPS limit on my GPU to make the game playable on my computer, but since the new version, it doesn't work anymore So fights are hardly playable

I had some sketchy days of cataclysm patch but then I took heed to Smashley's words and closed down other programs that use a lot of CPU (like twitchstreaming) and now Anthem runs smooth as eff and lo and behold matchmaking is near instantaneous. Practically no pilot error data, lagging or rubberb-banding. Well, I did have way to much junk open while playing.

nope you're not ...
my workaround (as this happens to me too everytime): don't choose "exit game" but "exit to main menu" - which basically reloads you to the starting screen, then click "settings" at the bottom right and only then click "exit game" and voila: no black loading screen

nope you're not ...

Yeah in my case it just take a while but eventually it does shut down. Used to be longer but now maybe 30 seconds? So i used the task manger before. if it comes back I might go for exit to menu hack.

I mentioned this in "Today in Anthem" … but probably worth repeating … maybe more on topic here and might help some.
Friend got the infinite loading screen trying to play a Cataclysm match.
Reinstalling the game didn't help.
Tried two other workarounds … at the same time … at least one of them worked and thankfully, they didn't cancel each other out.
The "fixes": Try a match on "Normal" difficulty setting. Set your game graphics to medium.
We think it was the latter that actually fixed it. She was plagued with very long loading times in any Anthem match (freeplay, stronghold, LCs, LMs) after one of the patches (I don't recall which). During the normal difficulty run her load time was very long … but when we switched to GM1 the next match, her load was just as fast as everyone else's and this held true when we played a stronghold and a LM after completing multiple cataclysms.

WRT the game not closing out … I run borderless window and if the game doesn't want to close, I tab out, open task manager and usually the Anthem executable is hiding in a subfolder of Origin.
Sometimes Anthem is on top in "Apps" … other times I find it running in "Background Processes" … but when the game won't close, most often it is hiding as a subfolder in the Origin app … under "Apps" … which if you don't know to look there, can be frustrating when you can't find the executable to shut it down.
I use the exit to main menu primarily when I'm switching pilots. Another bug … it apparently makes the Origin VOIP feature go stupid if you've played one pilot, then switch to the other. You have to reboot the game to get VOIP to work again. Switching back to the original pilot doesn't work. I consider this more an Origin issue, rather than an Anthem issue … regardless, the impact is on Anthem.

When she comes on this evening, I'll send her the link … she might want to tinker with her graphics settings … or not. So far, setting the graphic settings to medium seems to have fixed the issues she was having. She's using an Alienware laptop … decent screen size for a laptop … but still … not sure setting a few things to higher settings is going to be noticeable … from an improved graphic perspective. On the bright side, she's been shopping for a CyberPower PC desktop … pretty soon, ALL the performance issues should be moot.

Interestingly, they were able to fix the issue with the vault not showing the new weapons … those were in place prior to the patch deployment. Maybe the patch makes it permanent, instead of a server-side update each time you load the game.

Anthem Patch update 1.5.0 (PC 6.81GB).
Patch notes for update 1.50 which brings back The Cataclysm, New Season of Skulls Freeplay events and the usual bunch of tweaks and bug fixes.
New Features ◾The Cataclysm is back with updates for the Season of Skulls. ◾The higher your score, the more seasonal currency you’ll be awarded to spend at the seasonal store. ◾New Season of Skulls Freeplay events. Successfully finish three of these events in one Freeplay session to spawn a boss encounter. ◾Learn more about Season of Skulls lore through a scavenger hunt and new data archives. ◾Mass Salvage is now available on all inventory management screens. ◾The Legendary drop rate of war chests has increased 250% ◾A Legendary-Only War Chest has been added to the Seasonal Store
Cataclysm Changes/Fixes: ◾All challenges that awarded major crystals now reward 500 minor crystals instead. ◾Turrets will no longer respawn once destroyed in Sea of Takaro and Castle Kelrik. ◾Teleporters are now immediately re-usable after teleporting.
General Bug Fixes & Improvements:
◾Fixed various crashes for stabilization. ◾Auto-loot now works for all high-rarity loot drops in a game session. ◾When flying into obstacles, javelins now automatically go into hover mode instead of crashing to the ground ◾“Daily: Repair” no longer auto-completes when a player returns to Fort Tarsis. ◾Fixed an issue in which the Expedition Tracked menu could display incorrect difficulty level. ◾Updates to inscription tooltips for Combo Damage bonus clarify which javelin a bonus applies to: ◾Colossus Combo damage bonus is now “Combo Blast Dmg” ◾Ranger is “Combo Imp Dmg” ◾Storm is “Combo Chains” ◾Interceptor is “Combo Aura Eff”. ◾Fixed an issue where the Acid Status Effect would not increase damage taken from the “acid” damage type ◾Aim assist has been adjusted so that it doesn’t “pop” onto enemies as easily ◾Updated multiple weapon and gear piece descriptions to read “armor” instead of “suit health”. ◾The Badge of Devastation component no longer shares an icon with Emergency Power.
