Hey! As much a fan as I am of Bioware and Dragon Age, my gaming time is limited. I only ran through DA:I once, before the DLCs were released. I'm thinking of doing another playthrough some time in the near future, and wanted to cover some of the DLCs I missed the first time around.
Which of the DLCs are worth a look and which are passable? Thanks!

Trespasser you definitely need since it sets up the next story. Descent is a fun dungeon crawl that goes into some very interesting Dwarven lore. Jaws of Hakkon is a new area that explores the Avaar more as well as the last Inquisitor.
So if you could only play one, Trespasser. If you can only play two, Descent and Trespasser. Though I recommend all three DLCs.

I wouldn't call Trespasser my favourite, but in terms of understanding the central plot line, it is an integral chunk. The other two are more like bonuses and not relevant to main events, they're more for those interested in additional lore. I favour Descent between the two.
I found Jaws of Hakkon to be a meeean map in terms of difficulty.

Actually, there is an alternative called GOTY which you may want to purchase. The company did it on purpose to re-sell the series, but the thing is an entire story + all three sequels might be cheaper than one or two DLCs.
You did mention though that time is your issue, not price, but I figured that's advice worth to throw in.

i'd say play all of them, since all have a fun story, and jaws of hakkon, despite being the least out of the three, also offers fun side quests and funny war table operations. so yeah i'd say play all of them.

Here's what I think:
Jaws of Hakkon:
Mostly more of the same as the main game but fascinating in new lore. Expect unexpected relevations. Also the Frostback Basin map is more dense in content than most of the main game maps. So in spite of featuring the same playing style, I like it more than some main game maps. Downside: a mandatory difficult dragon fight.
Descent: Impressive underground vistas, nice for explorers, and quite a bit of new lore about dwarves. Also, the best two dwarven NPCs of the DA world so far. Downside: it's ultra-hard in difficulty. Expect prolonged fights against sizeable groups of hit point monsters. I was reminded of ME1 on Insanity.
Trespasser: This is your Inquisitor's epilogue, featuring exploration of unusual surroundings, fighting a qunari plot, and lots of new stuff about elven history. Expect your view of this fictional world to adjust a little sideways. There's also a setup for the next game. Downsides: you are very much railroaded through the plot with areas becoming inaccessible once you're finished with them, and.....the Inquisitor's personal ending sucks in at least three different ways. You have a choice in exactly how it sucks in one of these.
Trespasser is actually the one I wish I could nullify by leaving it unplayed, but unfortunately it's the part that most affects the Inquisitor, and does so canonically. If you want to see something different, landscape-wise, I'd recommend Descent, provided you don't mind extensive fighting. Meanwhile, Jaws of Hakkon features the best of DAI's typical playing style.

If possible, play them all. Trespasser is a must. The dlc can only be completed after completing the main game.

Thanks everyone. I'm thinking I will play all three. There's no other game releasing on the horizon that I'm very interested in (unless I do jump into Anthem), so I should have time. Glad to hear they're all worth it!

I have another question, is it possible to finish trespasser first and then still go back to do other DLCs? Or the story ends there completely?

I have another question, is it possible to finish trespasser first and then still go back to do other DLCs? Or the story ends there completely? No once you'v started it you'er locked in on that one. With Descent and Jaws you can interchange between those and the main game but I think it's because of Trespasser's story because it takes place 2 years later when things allegedly are starting to calm down after the war and things are starting to return to normal. Or at least as normal as Thedas gets anyway. Which considering it's a world of magic and mystery isn't that normal.
