I did recently play the DAI DLC. Probably the best parts of the game overall, and I now have the story up to speed so-to-speak.
I always intend on doing another full run, but I don't think I can play DAI again. I have replayed DAO too many times to be interested in it again. So, current plan is this - replay Awakenings with a fresh char, and then DA2 as heavily modded as I can make it.
Need DA2 DLC sale. Biovar plox.

I actually just finished a playthrough of DAO - something I thought I'd never do again. But I was inspired by the Dread Wolf trailer to do a new run of the series so here we are. I did do things slightly differently this time around. Did the Ultimate Sacrifice for the first time ever. Really looking forward to DA2 because I've played it through properly only once. I've started other playthroughs but I've never finished them for one reason or another. I've never had Alistair as a Grey Warden either! And for DAI I cheated and just used the Keep to have him there (sorry Stroud ) But anyways I've rambled on long enough. My point is - yes I'm playing the games again and yes, I'm doing things differently. Haven't decided yet which world state I'm bringing into DA4.

Currently in the middle of a ME/DA marathon and just completed Act 2 of DA2 in it .Although I'm back on ME now but that's to kind of do what I would call Act 2 of ME3 .Because to me ME3 like DA2 is kind of split into 3 acts Act 1 being the Krogan/Turian section of the game, Act 2 being the Quarian/Geth and Act 3 being Thessia through to the finish. Depending on when DA4 releases of course I always have a playthrough on the go at some point or another so whatever my active one is at that time will be the one I carry through to DA4. Especially as I don't have any canon world states given I play these games multiple times anyway to explore what the different choices and everything can lead to.

Even if I don't replay again, I will most likely import my Solasmancer world state for my first time through DA4 just to see how that whole shit-show plays out. Will do my best to avoid spoilers this time around too. DAI's big reveals for both Blackwall and Solas were spoiled for me.

I have replayed DAI, and I will replay DAO - thanks to the DA Keep, I don't need to do things in sequence. The question is whether I'll replay DA2. I want to, but it's really unbearable without a number of mods, of which I don't know whether they're still available and whether I can get them to work in a new configuraton on my new computer. As for decisions, my personal canon storyline is pretty much fixed, and since I have strong preferences in almost all major decisions, any change is unlikely. It's more likely that I add a different worldstate to the DA Keep than to play the games again with decisions that would create the same world-state. Heh, I had the same feeling, only because I hadn't played DAII since its launch and remembered massive disappointment. Then I started it up again, and realized that it has a lot of themes and RP opportunities that I was just too young and lacking in life-experience to catch when it came out. And that the "boring"(read: historically most valid) fighting styles like Sword and Board and archery had been spiced up to the point where they actually felt dynamic. And that a lot of the things you find annoying about the companions are actually pretty damn human. Being so consumed with what seems like an obviously critical cause that your closest start distancing themselves from you, making you feel isolated and forcing you to double down to justify the loss. Having escaped such enormous trauma that everything you try to deal with or accomplish somehow unfairly reminds you of it. Being called a boor by your friends just for, unlike most of them, having found meaning and purpose in doing a good and honorable and important job well, and reaping the rewards. That said, if there was a mod for turning off the stupid Friendship/Rivalry system on consoles then I'd grab it in a heartbeat.

That said, if there was a mod for turning off the stupid Friendship/Rivalry system on consoles then I'd grab it in a heartbeat. Oh, don't mistake me. I enjoyed the roleplaying in DA2, and the narrower story path, while I did not like it as such, made it possible to tell a thematically more coherent story, which I liked. As for the companions, in spite of the streamlined character interaction - you can't talk to them when you want and if you're called to talk to them, you also MUST talk to them - the RP is DA2's strength, and what I disliked about the companions was not their personalities themselves rather than the fact that they were *all* rather extreme instances of their respective archetypes. Or dare I say stereotypes? Just like so many other things in DA2, I'll observe, and that holds true even for the aspects I enjoyed. DAI's companions were much more balanced in that regard.
Where I disagree is the combat. What you call "dynamic" I call "sped up and flashy to the point of parody". Those silly, silly animations, and the teleporting enemies - I don't have words strong enough to express my utter disgust. I don't think a game exists where I hated the combat as much as in DA2, and for that reason if I replay it, I won't do it without mods that make the combat a complete non-issue. Unfortunately there appears to be a bug in the game that often leaves enemies alive after they've been reduced to zero hp, so I still can't get past the combat as fast as I want, but being able to walk away and do something actually interesting while Hawk does her stuff to her enemies is better than nothing.

Oh, we're not in any disagreement whatsoever there. I specifically mentioned the archer and the s&s warrior because they're the only two fighting styles that improved rather than degraded from this development. I think I enjoyed the ninja dual wield rogue as a teen, but now it's just stupid, along with the feather-light greatswords and the apparently-invisible-to-bystanders-but-completely-bonkers-and-in-your-face mage combat. And god yes, the teleporting waves of enemies are pathetic. It's the only Bioware game to date that I can't be convinced to play on the hardest difficulty, specifically because of those. Those and the weird invisible gymnast templars in full plate armor.

I tried to play DAO. Really, I did. I saw it was up for sale on origin and it came packaged with all of the DLCs. I think I payed less than eight dollars on it.
I heard it was a really immersive game that really allowed the layer to explore and see the nitty-gritty oft he world if they wanted to. And I was willing to deal with reduced graphics and a less open world to see that.....but by god was the combat a chore. I know it was a probably a trend at the time but I really didn't like the fact that felt a need to pause every 5 seconds of combat. Actually getting the hang of it was rough, and even then I wasn't having all that much fun. *sigh* Turned out to be a near-wasted purpose, but at least I got it on sale and a got a few good experiences out of it.
But I did replay DAI several times. MMO-like side quests aside, the story was compelling enough to warrant a few more playthroughs. I was mostly a female elvhen mage, but there was the occasional rogue. But I am definitely going to import my Solas-mancer character in DA4 if they will allow it.

Well, considering the amount of time we'll have to wait until DA4 is out, I'll wait until then. If the fourth game turn out to be good, because unlike DA:I I have zero intentions to pre-order, I might do a re-run on all the games. Maybe.
I only played the first game once, that was enough. DA2 I loved and I played it 4 times, from start to finish including DLC. DA:I I still have only gotten to around half the main story. It just bores me too much to continue any further. But If they go back to the character personality building system for Hawke, with DA4, they introduced with DA2 I will likely pick it up and then actually finish Inquisition.
Edit: Why the hell did I add all the "O"s in DA2/I/4...

Once closer to the potentioal release date the yeah mostly likely gonna do at least one replay of all games. I do feel like playing the Origins is gonna be a bit tough, I played it a lot back when it came out, first on 360, then later got it for PC.

been trying to make my 'canon' worldstate for the past few weeks...and not getting anywhere with it so, I think I'll take a break for now...play some different games and maybe by the time there is some more DA4 information I'll go with another playthrough of the first three games

I'm still hemming a hawing between A Dwarf Noble or Circle Mage Warden and a Qunari Warrior or Human Mage Inquisitor.
Hawke is always and forever a Snarky Rogue.
