Griffons! No.If we go to Tevinter or the Anderfels and find out that griffons didn't actually go extinct, I'm going to slaughter them all and fry their eggs for breakfast. I haven't been walking all over Southern Thedas for three games just to find out that everyone in the setting could have had a flying mount. It'd be Burning Crusade all over again, and I'm too old for that now. The novel Dragon Age: Last Flight actually already had them find a clutch of griffon eggs in 9:42. So Griffons could be a thing again, though I doubt for a while since they need to repopulate.

I'm Pro-Griffin. They don't have to be mounts. In fact, unless the game is going to be much bigger than DAI, I wouldn't want mounts. They were completely fucking pointless. Barely faster than walking.
I play fantasy for imaginative settings and weird and wonderful critters. Dragon Age is only just starting to get interesting.

Not a fan of mounts in a companion based game especially as I want da4 to be less open world If they are to be used i’d Prefer it in a Normandy role, traveling between zones.

Hm.... What do I want in DA4? Obviously a RPG, which obviously it ain't gonna be.
My premise is the fact that EA won't green light nor provide resources to a studio if the game fails to contain a back end revenue stream. This condition (ie: remote-like arm twisting) is enough to make studios design games with two core elements = multiplayer and mtxs = online game. Story and characters as core RPG pillars can't exist in a MP game. Anthem proves it. I'm expecting DA4 to be designed as a MP GaaS game. Bio has moved in this direction since DA:I.
What it needs?
(1) content, content at launch.
(2) Loot... worthy loot drops for every level plus the rares and some ultra ones which can be 4-10 higher levels than you are.
(3) Combat areas that are fun . Challenging AI not combat sponges. (4) Solo play. (5) Simplified gear crafting not that nosensical DA:I crap (imo). (6) Optimized menu navigation. Anthem was horrible at launch. (7) Reasonable grinding. (8) Camera control. (9) Stable game at launch. (10) No friggin' load screens.
ME:A had the makings for a good game, if not for the animations and weak story / dialogue plus their "hub" area population were once more moronic mannequins.
Sigh... if only Bio can take the core mechanics of Apex Lengends and somehow convert them for DA4.

There are an awful lot of places between "extinct" and "common."

Probably the standard system, where you put materials in one end and a weapon pops out the other? Rather than fucking about with schematics and "which kind of fabric gives me the bonus I want", etc.

If anyone wants to have a look at an actually non-sensical, complicated crafting system, please fast forward to 1:50 of the video below. See what needs to be done to craft a single maple shield xD (at 4:30 of video):

I remember in LOTR: War in the North, there's was a Griffon you could periodically summon and it would basically OHK weak enemies, while doing a lot of damage to higher-tier enemies.
