From my own observations, Striders should act as mini forge platforms. You can't customize the look of your Javelin, but you can swap out gear. Clarification Request: This is what you would like to see, or this is what you have observed as a thing that occurs in the current pre-launch build?

This is really turning into a clusterfuck of a game launch. The whole point of having the Strider was to do what you describe and they've gone and removed it? WTF Bioware? And I don't buy their bullshit about removing the pilot skill tree either. So glad I haven't wasted my money on this train wreak of a game. The skill tree was legit bad, and if was in the game as it was back then, it would have simply been another slight against the game. I must be about the only person in the closed alpha who liked it then I still call their decision to remove it bullshit.

I must be about the only person in the closed alpha who liked it then I still call their decision to remove it bullshit. If they were willing to give it a name and state that it was akin to Diablo's Paragon System, and then allowed you to earn points for every level up past 30, then I think it would have been okay. But out and out calling it a skill tree would have made it laughable at best.

To be clear, I love this game so far and hope to continue playing. Here are my negative thoughts after playing twenty hours, PC version only:
The UI is mind-bogglingly poor: -The default M+KB settings, especially the controller emulation, are borderline unplayable. -The menus are counter-intuitive. Ex: pressing "Esc" serves the function of Enter, Select, or Back, depending on which menu you're in. -There is no instruction on how to navigate these bizarre menus. You have to learn the menus through trial and error.
The game style is incompatible with the story: I've missed about half the story missions at this point; The game does not let you know you can disable matchmaking, and unless you do you are likely to have parts of the story cut out for reasons*, yet if you do solo the missions you get inferior gear rewards!
*The reasons are, you can be inserted into a mission that is partly complete (up to end-boss-fight) with no way to hear/see the earlier dialogues or sequences, fast teammates can cause loads before expository dialogue is finished, and story missions can not be re-played.
Too much was implemented in an unfinished state: -The amazing/beautiful/cute passsive wildlife has no reaction to external stimuli unless it's killing them. -Enemies occasionally spawn and despawn seemingly at random. Entire world events completely vanish mid-fight. Turn your back on a clearing and a whole horde of Scars may appear. -Ft Tarsis movement speed. I can not believe this silliness lingers. Note that even the mouse speed is reduced! -Balancing has some issues, though that can be said of any game with character classes.

2. This is based purely on the Demo for PS4 (as the game has not officially launched on PS4 yet) so if "not allowed" let me know. The way to accept an invite into a "squad" is super awful. You have to (from my experience) go out to the PS4 home screen to accept an invite? That's really poor design. I don't know if it is Sony's or Bioware's, but there should be easier ways to drop into a friend's instance or set up a new one quickly. It just seems like too much of a hassle (again, from the demo). Maybe it will get easier the more I play, or maybe it's changed some to the launch version. Many other online games, even games of this exact genre on PS allow you you to accept invites and join other players from inside the game menu and do not require you to go to the PS home screen. Bioware just probably thought it was easier to use what was already built into playstation.

To me TOP 1 issue is the lack of decent single-player support.
Forcing MP into story missions was a bad idea. As is, the game literally punishes you for playing a private session. You suffer the disbalance over the lack of DPS while fighting the multiplayer-designed encounters, and you also have worse loot (from what I can tell, correct me if I'm wrong on this one).
It's like they were trying really hard with preventing players from solo. The game never tells you that you could possibly play alone, and if you dare to switch the setting (that's if you know where to look for it, yeah), the game literally begs you to reconsider and join the team instead.
KB+M needs some loving, and I'd rather play shooters this way, but I can live with the gamepad.

Typically they allow it or they don't, but Anthem is over here like media.giphy.com/media/G4Ihli2UThrBS/giphy.gif

I wonder if they're collecting data on the responses. It was like 1) "oh yeah, running with a team is the best" or 2) "hey, there's nothing wrong with flying solo" I choose to fly solo. Also, this seems to be what my character's head looks like - I don't think it's a bug :

Got another gameplay issue that needs addressing:
Stronghold matchmaking. Sometimes it's a fun romp! Sometimes it's quicker to tab out, force close Anthem, and try again than to wait for your teammates to repair you. Note that you have no access to menus while waiting for repair, so you're stuck staring at the "u ded" icon until/if you get repaired.

Some video evidence of why the story missions are a bummer, crossposted from the thread on this quest. Skip to 4:20 for the start of the quest itself unless you wanna watch the launch bay bug out. WARNING: Mild Spoiler

How about a statistics page, so we can see the cumulative effect of all the gear we are equipping?
That seems kind of important in a game like this.

Something where you could see the total increase to elemental damage, assault rifles, or whatever. You could see what the total effect gear would have on flight time and whatnot. There really should be something like this on the Forge screen. Nice catch.

This has been a pretty regular ask, so I'm hoping they will. Ideally I'd like to see a stats window in the loadout screen so you can see the changes as you select different gear.

The gather party mechanic has been made more lenient in a number of situations As much as I'd love to enjoy my freedom while on the missions, I can understand their reasons. Allowing people to stay away from fights\encountetrs is unfair for the rest of the group. And I assume it also has some tech catch, like an inability to handle the group split between the 'loading screens'. The gameplay can't be single- AND multiplayer at the same time. Something where you could see the total increase to elemental damage, assault rifles, or whatever. You could see what the total effect gear would have on flight time and whatnot. There really should be something like this on the Forge screen. Nice catch. You mean...you mean it's not there?..wow. And here I thought I had not been looking hard enough...

We need more numbers... like way more numbers.
- one tab to view ALL active bonuses from ALL sources (components, inscriptions, legendary/masterwork properties etc.) - the weapons entries in the Cortex need damage numbers (just display the numbers for current level, common rarity - comparing stuff is super annoying atm)

That topic has indeed been mentioned many times and makes most of the QoL lists on Reddit. Oversight on my part for not having it in the OP already. Added to ON DECK.

EXPEDITION LOOT LIMIT- It works this way: one row in inventory is open at start, when you fill it another one opens up. No idea if there’s limit to it, but I’ve got as far as at least 6 rows, so it there is a limit, it’s pretty high.

Better salvage functionalities:
- salvage all - salvage by rarity - ability to set "protected" status on items

Because the limit appears to change based on which expedition you are on, it may be high for some and low for others. Or, that’s not true (hard to prove one way or the other given how confused people are about inventory in general), and instead people are confusing their vault limit being almost full and their backpack. An example given was that if your vault limit is 250 and you currently have 240 filled, you might get the expedition limit error banner if you pick up more than 10 items in your backpack.

ALL HELMETS OPEN IN CUTSCENES.
We should be able to see our pilot's face, no matter what armor we're wearing. I just learned today that if you have any helmet other than default, your face won't be seen in cutscenes, the helmet stays closed. After all these years of people wanting helmet toggles, you'd think they'd understand that we'd like to see our characters.

They already have it designed they just love the salt of the tears of fans.
Or ...
They didn't want to spend the time to animate the different helmet types opening up.
