As we only have 2 gears, one could consider your ultimate as actually an added gear. But, for the limited amount of time I've been with other people, I really haven't seen much people use it.
So I was just wondering, how do you use your ultimate? Often? Never? Tactically? And more important, how SHOULD others use their ultimate?

On my Colossus I have currently 63% refresh speed on it. So it is always ready when I need it. I use it as situation needs but happy to make it rain whenever.

I use it when needed so I'll save it if the fightings going pretty well on my side, if the entire mission is easy then I'll use it whenever I have it.

Its the Storm's "SAATANA KUOLIHAN NE!" weapon. So basically if specific enemies and "revived X times" -> KA-FREAKING-BOOM!

Yeah, I've noticed not a whole lotta people use their ults , and probably don't realize they regen pretty quickly. I try to make sure to use mine at least once or twice during missions.

It depends. If i am overwhelmed by enemies and my shields and HP is low i use the "jericho missiles" to clean the field and heal with the Ranger. But usually i wait until there is a elite enemy or a mini-boss who takes too long to kill via firearms and or javelin weaponry.
With the Interceptor i tend to use it as soon as it is available since he is too squishy.

Since on my Ranger Gun/Impact build the missiles are like firecrackers due to the -55% blast damage, & my Cycle of Pain does far more damage than my ult does, so I use Ranger's ult for extra flight time, or for self heals/temp invulnerability, & then I may or may not shoot the missiles.

Did everyone forget about Support powers? Anyways I blast my Ultimate pretty often, either against a singular troublesome foe or a group of mooks that I don’t want to deal with. It’s also handy for the insta-heal and the i-frames.

For me it depends on the Jav and the situation. I've been doing GM-2 on my Comboboi and I generate Ultimate so fast that I basically get to jump in to a huge spawn of enemies, detonate all the things and then pop it to get out - as someone else mentioned, when you're doing higher difficulties the damage is actually really low if you're not built for it. IF however I'm fighting a single boss like the end of Heart of Rage Stronghold I will purposely save it for reviving allies. When I play Interceptor however I spam it as soon as it's up because I'm running melee glass cannon. BUT yes, I notice a lot of people just hang on to it (same with support skills) for no discernible reason.

Admittedly I use it at really poor times still. Like when a Legendary Scar Hunter is shooting at me. I basically turn myself into a sitting duck with a shield that- oh wait it’s gone already.

I space out on the support for Colossus and Storm. The only reason i don't forget with the Interceptor is because I use the offensive one, and it's easier for me to remember I have a third attack ability.

Super weird that downed players draw aggro.

most of the time its my "oh shit" button when your in the keep alive pulse and you hit the x key you become immune to damage until after its lined up so if your games not lagging out then its possible to survive anything, sometimes you loose the immunity the second the cross hair appears and insta die other times its just enough to get you back to full health and shields and clear out the pack of mobs hounding you....
then there are the times when you get insta killed from full shields + hp from a mob that didnt even appear on your screen until after it one shot you …… I hate those times, most common in dungeons/
as for spamming it, depends on the javelin im using, sometimes I farm the kills for the day with it other times I forget all about it (much like the 3rd gear item)

That shield generator is really good at saving me in some situations.

i only use it as a last resort, low on health, or finish off a boss. At times i just use it cause i just love the way the range's ultimate looks.
