ok, did BW update the loot system over the weekend. On Sunday i got 6 legendary items and out of the 6, 4 of then were stuff i didn't have.
Maybe (?)...
I got 4 Legendaries from Saturday and Sunday combined from around, say, 6 hrs of gameplay from different areas - one from the spawned Furies itself in the Heart of Rage (not the chest) on GM1, one from a Freeplay chest in GM2, one from a Fury in the Legendary Mission on GM1, and one from a Legendary Contract on GM2.

5hrs...(?!)
Would they drop a content update/patch with zero lead-up?

I wonder...
Well they did go dark so maybe they are just going to surprise us from now on (shrug) I am surprised they informed us that they are going to do maintenance.

Wow. Five hours downtime.
PoE often advises players via an online message in their players' screen that the servers would reboot. Five hours is a major maintenance.
Hey... Cataclysm may be coming! or the Leaderboards / Guilds.
Morpheus: "know what happened happened and that it could not have happened in any other way".
Given some of the regression I saw after patch 1.1 …
Slow loot salvage animation, 1% inscriptions on MW/Lego, getting yanked back to the fort in freeplay …
Plus some new issues like the dorked up damage, shield and armor display values (actual values not affected) …
Or more frequent occurrence of issues like not being able to interact with stuff …
I was hoping for some fairly quick fixes to some of those problems.
Of all of them, server maintenance to fix getting yanked back to the fort is probably the most important to me.
Hm...
I was going for major updates. But, minor fixes for five hr downtime?
Perhaps EA is making sure all the Anthem instances are at the same patch level, eh? I'm sure there will be internal tests... maybe even the PFE server(s).
Well, good luck to them....

Per Jesse Anderson's Twitter: "No update with this downtime, just maintenance"
So, there you go...
So, you're saying bug fixes only for five hours downtime? ... just as long as they work... I'll be happy.
If every time they drop a patch/content, more bugs pop up, I think it's essential they nail down the process going forward.
It may be frustrating for some but it's essential for the long-term health of the game so I'm down for it.
I played about 6 hours this weekend on GM1/GM2 and only had two issues the entire time so the experience has improved, they just have to keep fine-tuning it.

Minor fixes =/= it takes a few minutes to fix and then apply to thousands of servers. I mean, they can spend weeks to months building and testing major patches, so minor fixes CAN take a few hours sometimes...

Jordie (GuardianTyr) @guardiantyr I checked the Library in #AnthemGame for all the info I could on the Dominion, but I still have a few questions. What government type are the dominion? Who leads Stralhiem? And were there motives to attack bastion outside of accessing shaped relics?
Cameron Dayton @camerondayton The Dominion is an expansionist military empire from the northern region of Stralheim. Bastion leaders are still trying to deduce their motives.
LOL,
Cameron failed to answer his question. I guess Bio has yet to define the gov. of the Dominion. The Dominion could be a dictatorship where the Judicial, Legislative and the Executive branches are made up of civilians. Or under military rule and military law.

I've been there and done that ... to IBM mainframe OS. The only difference is that when the patches and.or improvements were applied and then the system re-IPLed (boot) all systems worked as intended.
It's called planning, btw.

The bending over backwards to find anything that can be turned into a negative is getting a bit ridiculous now.
And no Sartoz - I simply do not believe you've done anything that is even remotely comparable to what modern games on multiple platforms can or have to do or how their maintenance looks like or how long it takes.

Oh, my.
Planning is not the same as scheduling.
Announcing that on "Wed at 2:00pm" we will reboot the servers", as an example, is called scheduling.
IBM's approach is not unique but it is applied. As an example, here is an overview of Change Management tools (emphasis on Turnover). Of course, there's Rhapsody, a design manager tool and here is an audio presentation of what it does.
Planning is how you manage change, implement a change ,control changes, test the change, have a change reporting scheme, approve the change, deployment planning (includes scheduling) and have a backup contingency plan (ie: restore to previous production version) if things unexpectedly blow up.
I "grew up" with similar tools (see above), so it's part and parcel of my thinking. Whatever EA /Bio is doing or not, I call it amateur hour for its unintended effects. Anthem is an example when project management principles are ignored.
Now I believe we can agree that we all hope the 5hr downtime produces positive results.
Xbox @xbox The stunning level of detail make journeys through the Xbox One X Enhanced world of Anthem even more immersive. Who can guess the location of this shot? #VisitXbox xbx.lv/2Vyv0Mt
Thomas Farmer @darkchocobo9bsc @bio_Warner Confirm or Deny? This account is essentially created for Bioware's purpose of Public Relations and is hosted and moderated by a social media communications team rather than Jonathan Warner himself.
Jonathan Warner @bio_Warner Hi Thomas (and eveyone else). I've actually been dealing with a grave family illness and have been away from the studio and social media. Thanks for your patience and no, I'm not a bot or a PR run account.

Jesus. Now I feel bad about the Jason Schreirer article.
Inquisitor: Is that innuendo? Sera: No, it's at the front!

As for Jon, that's really miserable and, per his Twitter, he checked out around March 10th only to retweet Jesse a month later so he's definitely been away for a bit. For better or worse, the article has, I'm sure, cranked up the pressure for all levels of the company.
NYU Game Center Lecture Series Presents Bioware’s Anthem: Performance & Direction with Caroline Livingstone, Performance Director & Sarah Elmaleh, Lead Actor
Join us for a conversation with two of the luminaries behind Bioware’s Anthem. Anthem employed a unique approach to performance capture & direction, utilizing multi-actor performance capture to arrive at the most nuanced, detailed in-game performances possible. We’ll talk about the unique challenges of this process, as well as direction and performance for video games more broadly with Caroline Livingstone, who has directed actors for Bioware across the Dragon Age & Mass Effect series, and Sarah Elmaleh, who plays the female lead in Anthem and whose previous credits include Gone Home, For Honor, & Pyre.
I have a problem with people tying their work to their personal social media accounts, it sort of categorises a person by what they do and where they work instead of who they are. And then people who have a problem with that company will target these individuals because of these categories rather than the actual company.
I would prefer Bioware to have a social media account for public relations manned by anonymous individuals. It does the job, it's a company account so people don't confuse individuals with company etc etc
EDIT: First sentence made no sense before, and now it does xD
