What if Anders actually was the one who blew up the Temple of Sacred Ashes? "I removed the chance of compromise, because there is no compromise!" Y'know, that could have been a great cliffhanger to leave DA2 on.
Rather than the destruction of the Chantry, what if the group of Templars and Mages who attempted to mutiny in Act 3 hadn't been stopped, leading Meredith to annul the Circle in the belief that her own people were now under the thrall of Blood Mages? The game continues on as before, Hawke having to pick a side and the Gallows incident eventually leading to the Circle's rising up.
The post-credits ending would have Hawke and Varric journeying to Haven to take part in the Conclave (on the side of either Templars or Mages), hoping that peace might be achieved by the Divine and that they might find Anders there, who had gone missing while looking into what the Wardens knew about Red Lyrium. They do indeed Anders already there, giving a similar speech as in the original game (as well as hinting at a mysterious figure he's now working for), right before the Temple of Sacred Ashes explodes.
When we pick up in this version of Inquisition, Anders is revealed to have not been in complete control of his actions during the post-credits scene. While helping Hawke investigate Red Lyrium, he had once again encountered Corypheus and fallen under his influence. He serves as a lieutenant of Corypheus for part of the game, before being freed and taken into custody by the Inquisition.
Despite being unable to control his actions, he admits to the Inquisitor that part of him wanted to destroy the Temple of Sacred Ashes and that Corypheus had gotten the idea from Anders in the first place, after he'd revealed his resentment for the Templars and the Chantry. No. Eh, you and your ideas! Stop torturing Anders!

it's funny, the word " anders " means " different " in my mother language (Dutch) So many jokes. So little time. Anders was a very difficult companion. I do not like his bloody revolution and he knows no other subject, when talking to Hawke. In the German VA I thought it was stupid the Pronunciation of Anders in DA2. They always said "Aenders". A terrible Denglisch (english pronouncing in a german sentences) during in Awakening they correctly used the German pronouncing...)

for example...Arl Eamon everyone in Origins and beyond pronounces it as EE-mon, but Loghain pronounces it Ay-mon, and apparently Loghain is the only one who pronounces it right

A terrible Denglisch (english pronouncing in a german sentences) during in Awakening they correctly used the German pronouncing...) Every companion talks about their own problem to Hawke. I don't know why Anders bothers people. "His" problem is valid and timely, just like the other's problem, not less... in facrt Meredith and her Templars are criminals, it impossibile to ignore with Hawke's background, especially if Bethany in the Circle, or Hawke is a mage: it happens before Hawke's eyes. There are many banters with him, not about the mages – and in many times, the others ask him about it. Fenris, Aveline, Sebastian and yes, even Isabela and Varric, and even if he doesn't say a word. I think people just find Anders' problem less important, because of the in game suggestion: "Those are people in skirt, what is the difference – they're equally annoying. Bullshit, everything is okay, and Anders is a drama queen. Hahaha, Varric is right, the best bro!"

Mass Effect also does this change in a sometimes rather bad way. While the first installment had the characters pronounce Geth in a german way, i. e. sounding like 'geht' (3rd person singular, equivalent to he/she/it goes), which apparently led to an awful lot dumb memes, they changed it for ME2 into the english pronounciation. Not the best idea in my book, as Germans can have quite some trouble pronouncing a vocal and a following 'th' right. That leads to Miranda (voiced by Jennifer Böttcher) to say 'gäff'/'gaeff' when she speaks to TIM during the intro. I usally resorted to say 'gett' (short/fast) when trying to avoid both 'th' issuest and that homophone.
Loghain and his favourite Orlais are another matter in DAO. Sometimes it's 'Orlee', Cailan's VA pronounces it as 'Orlais' (as written) though this might be intentional. Until DAI, I did not get that Loghain is meant to be pronounced Lo-GHAIN. German DAO almost always uses LO-ghain, coining the meme of 'Low-Gain' for me.
Meredith is also mispronounced sometimes, because of the 'th' issue. Turns her into 'Merediss' as in 'to dis someone'. The best thing about her is letter mixups though. Merideth -> Merrydeath.

Merideth -> Merrydeath. funny you should mention Meredith, her (English)VA also voices various characters in Skyrim, such as the Daedric Prince Meridia, the names are even similar, so each time I have that character's quest I'm like 'shut up Meredith'
Orlais...most of the characters tend to not pronounce the s at the end, so they'd pronounce it Or-lay...at least that's how I pronounce it
some English names can also be confusion, such as the Irish/Scottish name Saoirse...you'd think it's a form of Sorcha/Sorcha so pronounce it the way it's written and it's be Sa-or-se, but it's actually pronounced SEER-sha
my own name is an interesting case as well, my name is Jessica...so any English speaker would pronounced it the English way (JEHS-i-kə) but back home and how my parents pronounce it it's the German way (YEH-see-ka), which can become confusing because many people just assume from the way it's written it's also supposed to be pronounced the English way though many people tend to shorten it to Jess these days, which I don't mind (sometimes it makes me think of the word jazz...so that's fun)

Buckeldemon Well, in general I prefer the way the Hamburg dub of MET, Andromeda and Origins. "Zirkel der Maejei" was a terrible Denglish mess. Orlais...most of the characters tend to not pronounce the s at the end, so they'd pronounce it Or-lay...at least that's how I pronounce it Orlais...most of the characters tend to not pronounce the s at the end, so they'd pronounce it Or-lay...at least that's how I pronounce it I thought "Or-lé" would be correct. This way it is pronounced on the whole in DA. even in the Berlin dubs. @anders: Well defficult in the way, that I have no possibilities to get Rivalry Points from him. xD In Awakening it was no Problem. Kill the blood mages of Amaranthine and Anders gives disapproval. In DA2, kill Blood mages and Hawke earns Friendship.

He against the blood magic, but he would kill blood mages only if they attack. Remember the Starkhaven apostates in the cave. He still wants to free them, even if knows, their leader was clearly a blood mage, and probably all of them knows it/practices it. Why do you want to gain rivalry from him?

The voice actress is perfect for both roles. And german Orsino is Vegeta from Dragon Ball. That hairstyle is suspiciously similar. Ah, thanks a lot. So it's 'Seersha Ronan' then. So your's is more like 'Jisika'? I'm a Jan (i.e. short Johannes) and some (late) family members tended to pronounce it shorter while others used a long version. I guess there is no way to carry that into english, besides having to make sure I'm not becoming a shortened Jennifer. for example...Arl Eamon everyone in Origins and beyond pronounces it as EE-mon, but Loghain pronounces it Ay-mon, and apparently Loghain is the only one who pronounces it right You can add Eamon next to Saoirse on the list of regularly mispronounced Irish names.

Anyway... wait... There are two different versions? How did you get your hands on those? And which version is which? I guess I got a version in which ME2/3 Liara and Morrigan share their VA. I do like Tanja Dohse's performance on Morrigan, but for Liara, I prefer ME1's VA (Christine Stichler), especially once I noticed that she also did a certain other bumbly archeologist back in AquaNox, if anyone still knows about that game.

for your name, I suspect English speakers would shorten it (or turn it into) to John, which is the English form of Jan (in French it'd become Jean)
as for Saoirse Ronan, I saw a few interviews with her and she does pronounce her own name the same way as Sorcha/Sorsha...so I guess it also depends on how someone is used to pronouncing their own name for myself I just tend to turn a blind eye to people mispronouncing my name, especially 'cause they tend to shorten it anyway
-- whether it destroys the 'schemin' Eamon' meme or not...it doesn't defeat the purpose of him being a scheming bastard anyway also I think it's Ay-mon...though it does make me think of the Troll speaking pattern from WoW (ay mon (hey man)

omg...just found this why do I think that makes so much sense? Or perhaps Justice's presence slows down the Calling or eliminate that slowly... – or the Taint ruins Justice as well. This isn't a head-canon, this is a conception: Gaider was vague about this two possibility.(Of course I prefer the possibility, that Justice's presence eliminates the Taint effects with time)
And then there is the mortal world itself... just think about it: as Isabela also said, justice is an idea, in the Fade this is clear, but in the mortal world everything is more complicated. When Justice woke up in Kristoff's body he was not that pure Justice anymore. He felt Kristof's memories about his life, but those only were dead memories... But he heard Anders' stories about the Circle, and later he experienced his every memory and emotion, at first-hand, as his own. Anders was always a passionate man, and Justice's feelings toward this injustice accelerated Anders' (and Justice's own!) emotions... this is absolutely mutual between them. And never forget: Justice first goal was when he woke up in Kristof's body: to take revenge on the Darkspawn for Kristoff (he told it to the Warden when they speaks first about his future fate in the mortal world).
It's corruption? Perhaps, but I think, he's still Spirit, and nothing is easy about the Siprits. Just remember to Cole, who, as he said about himself, were demon once...

A question to those who romanced Anders in their very first DA2 pt.
Did you believe there would be a happy ending or did you think "There is no way this is ending well, but I can't resist the apostate"?

I went for happy end, ofc. I'm not into the tragedy. There was some point I thought there are problems, but fortunately I got my happy end, so: everything is well.
Later I follow that way too, my Hawkes never rivaled him or killed him in romance.

A question to those who romanced Anders in their very first DA2 pt. Did you believe there would be a happy ending or did you think "There is no way this is ending well, but I can't resist the apostate"? I picked Anders, because I liked him in DAA in my first playthrough. I didn't think about a happy end, just wanted some interesting content. So it was neither, more a 'Let' s see, what happens'. About German translations (I'm from Germany, so I know those translations best) : I find them mostly awful, the voice actors are not bad, but not as good as the Original. If I have to suffer through Morrigan conversations, at least let it be Claudia Black's awesome voice. I had the most problems with SWTOR, the female smuggler and female Jedi consular sounded awful in German, too nice and polished, so I switched to English and loved their voices. Nowadays I only play the games in English.
