No, they disliked him... but he certainly wasn't a "meh" character. I believe he was intentionally written as a buffoon-type character and people really weren't supposed to like him. However, from that perspective, he's certainly stuck around in people's memories a long, long time. The other characters in that Trilogy of films, however, were pretty forgettable. Also, it's worth keeping in mind that there are a lot of other factors that went into all of that besides the writing... the acting and the directing had a lot to do with it as well. He was supposed to be a lovable buffoon but it backfired. Also darth maul was a very notable character and probably had the best fight scene in the star wars franchise. Although I wish they had stuck with the fight scene the whole time rather then showing little anakin driving a fighter or whatever you want to call it. Still people were supposed to like jar jar binks and most didn't. Do you actually remember anything about Darth Maul other than the fight scene though. He was a paper thin very forgettable character, IMO. Jar Jar wasn't liked... but he is remembered.

So that would mean star wars fans loved jar jar binks. No, they disliked him... but he certainly wasn't a "meh" character. Well, somebody had to destroy the Republic. Who better than a buffoon like Binks?

I remember when darth maul first showed up in that black cloack thing while he was walking next to the guy who would become emperor. He was the emperor's apprentice. Not much else to know about him

Instead, I think his skull was lurking around in TFA.

To me if they aren’t going to pick a canon they should just stick to andromeda. If you are going to invalidate the trilogy why even go back to the mw. you don't invalidate the entire trilogy, just ending to make a Post Reaper War Milk Way any sense. There are many ways and many of them are justify to making a new thread in how and possible ways to do it. How is continuing in Andromeda invalidating the trilogy?

I would suggest getting a ps4. Why? Because you can play God of War, Uncharted series, Horizon Zero Dawn and many other excellent games for the playstation. Or you can wait until the ps5, if that's what it will be called, is released. Possibly late 2020. I have bought a xbox since they first came out and the last playstation I bought was a PS2. If I can get past my foolish loyalty or stubborness I would buy a PS5 as my next console since Playstation seems to get all the good console exclusives and xbox only gets halo. Gears of war, Forza, Halo and there are others but yeah Sony has more. I prefer my xbox but Sony has close to a monopoly on exclusives.

The battle droids were the worst offenders of this as they were supposed to be providing the threat.

I mean "the last of us" the "final fantasy 7 remaster" "god of war" and several more I can't think of right now. I never played gears of war for some reason. And was I the only one who was made that we couldn't have our xbox one play music while we play our game like the xbox 360 did?

Are you saying that if the next mass effect game takes place in andromeda it invalidates the trilogy? I don't understand that and I want the next game to be in the milky way and to have shepard as the main character again. Having it in andromeda avoids dealing with the reaper war aftermath and ending choices but it doesn't invalidate them. Unless I am missing something

Personally I didn't like episode 1,2, and 3 but I like episode 4,5, and six but I didn't think they were the greatest things ever but I think that's because I wasn't around when they first came out and were revolutionary at the time. However I do like the new ones. However as for the droids not being scary I would like to point out that the storm troopers were laughable. I mean they couldn't shoot someone five feet away. I actually use the phrase "they shoot like storm troopers" when I am talking about a movie where the bad guys can't hit anything and the good guys are apperantly snipers. Think about it? The storm troopers spent their whole life training to fight and were bred to fight but luke can out shoot them? Sorry went on a bit of a rant. That said I agree that the droids were silly however the original storm troopers weren't that bad ass either.

That said I agree that the droids were silly however the original storm troopers weren't that bad ass either. I’ll disagree as they showed a good level of skill and viciousness in the movies up to return. The hero’s get missed but every movie would be really short if the villains were as accurate as them while shooting at them. They take over mos Isley easy, kill Luke’s family, murder Jawas etc in 4. 5 cloud city tai over, kick the rebels ass on the ground on hoth. Return is where his slide toward silly comedy started with the Ewoks. Also the storm troopers by the time of episode 4 aren’t the clones. They are just soldier recruits. And luke isn’t supposed to be a no talent kid. He is traveling around with weapons in the beginning of the movie for a reason. Yeah he’s a naive farm kid but he’s also supposed to have some skills.(ignoring chosen one tm)
