Because CDPR has never lied right? Thronebreaker sold under expectations but Gwent overall is doing fine and is currently getting it's first expansion. Saying they're in the red is also a massive exaggeration. GoG had to lay off some people but the dev side is the largest it's ever been at 500 people. Cyberpunk is most definitely not getting rushed. As to the downgrade, they fucked up and deserve criticism for it. How are you so certain?

From all the opinions I've listened to that have rated Anthem harshly, not one has had something bad to say about the graphics. They've had something bad to say about the static NPCs and how it fails to create as vibrant a world as in the E3 trailer, but not one mentioned graphics.
So I'm wondering why people are suddenly going on about it.

Cyberpunk put out another update a day or two ago as well, where they said it will be released when it's ready. Which is a good attitude to have. It's the attitude Blizzard used to have before Activision started to demand they release more games (dunno how this is gonna go for Blizzard).

They can now live of revenue from games sales via their Gog client. They are more of a exception than a rule.

They never said this was going to be another ME clone. Now that they've gotten the server disconnect issues under control it IS a "great" single player game. It could be excellent depending on how they handle adding new features but that's still TBD.

Just to play Devil's advocate, Cyberpunk's been in development for at least 7 years with no release date in sight. So for modern AAA games 6 years isn't terribly long. Imagine if Anthem had another couple of years under its belt, a lot of problems would have been sorted. Released too early So this brings us back to the conversation of how much of an asset to EA really is. If Bioware is one if EAs better studios, why not give them the time and freedom to accomplish their visions? I wonder about that too. The problem is we really don't know how it went down. Bioware might have run into problems late in the game and didn't give EA enough time to react to news along the lines of, "we're not ready yet and have to delay". Or it could have been that things were going along swimmingly, and assuming Bioware gave EA enough notice, EA could have simply said, "no, no more delays". The one thing we do know for 100 percent sure is the game released in a "hot mess" state, only akin to the original The Division's horrendous launch. Knowing that, then both EA and Bioware are at fault for not accepting it and cancelling the release. To release a game like that is one step short of being criminal. It also leads me to believe that with each AAA game released like this, where are the game testers, in-house? Do game companies not have a QA staff anymore? If they do then the game companies don't give a shit what player reactions are because they already have your money. There's no other way around it. I'm part of the problem because I pre-order most AAA games. If most people, including me, would wait for reviews to come out before handing over our cash, game companies will start to take note, or I'd hope they would.

Lets not complicate things. You've made a 6 year development claim in relation to quality of Anthem and were asked if you can back this claim. Sounds like an omission of defeat since you cannot offer up any other logical scenarios as to why a 6 year development from top Bioware talent led to the launch quality of Anthem. Whatever excuse they give us, if they ever do, is no excuse for how the game launched. I'm beyond words disappointed in how it went down. I'm finally able to play/enjoy the game now due to all the issues I had with being kicked to the dashboard for no apparent reason or the million and a half server disconnects that plagued me. I was on the phone for hours with my ISP and EA Help desk folks. Except for one ranged open port I'm not what the issue was. It wasn't all on my end though.

I'd rather say "Anthem could have been a great multiplayer game" - if they had saved all their ressources they spent for unnecessary things and used them for more important matters, analyzed what makes games like Warframe, Destiny, The Division, Borderlands, Diablo good and what mistakes those have made in the past and not repeat them with Anthem, as well as put the game into an extensive beta and optimize it with the feedback of this playerbase before officially launching.
