It's a fair bet that this would happen regardless. Not to the extent and not as severely. You'd find more critics on board with an ME3 addressing title, than an Andromeda 2. And for those that would criticize it, there would also be former disillusioned fans that would talk controversy down, exactly because their qualms are being addressed and that would get them very invested in this title. They won't silence opposition, but they will give a lot of clickbaiters pause.

No anything they do will be picked apart by a certain sect of people no matter what. I agree. Some people will meme regardless. My point is that a lot less people will be against it and a lot more people will be surprised by it, in a pleasant manner, that they'll encourage a "wait and see" stance. Andromeda 2, though? Pfft, let the meme games begin.

I disagree. Some will but not all. It matters which, how hard and how influential they are. And I think that's what's going to make the difference. Not to mention that a whole lot more would jump on that bandwagon this time, after the Anthem thing.

There's a number of ways they could do it. Considering how salty everyone was about the ME3 ending, they shouldn't even attempt to try and please everyone. Just make destroy canon and ignore the blue and green endings.
Some ideas for a Milky Way game: The relays are damaged/destroyed, the survivors of the Reaper War are isolated across the galaxy, desperately trying to reverse engineer the Reaper/Relay technology from the Reaper corpses and damaged relays, slowly spreading through star systems by way of regular FTL. The Citadel species that are "trapped" in Sol somehow manage to sustain themselves and build some sort of interspecies government, like a Citadel Council only with representatives from every species. Hundreds of years pass and aside from Liara, Grunt and Wrex no one of the original cast is alive anymore. The game could be about re-exploring the Milky Way galaxy. You'd run into some of these isolated civilizations that have changed drastically in various ways. You could have the Yahg become space-faring and start conquering (and eating) everyone. The Drell on Rakhana could have found a way to leave their dying homeworld. The Rachni could have some queens stashed away somewhere and rebuild their civilization. Then there's the Raloi on Turvess. Eventually they could have the Arks arrive in Andromeda and establish contact through QEC. Maybe work on a massive Relay system from both sides to link the two galaxies together.
Some ideas for an Andromeda game: They could continue with the Ryder twins and make the game about the war against the remaining Kett, further delving into the Jardaan and the Scourge. The Quarian ark would arrive, more planets would be colonized and the Initiative could switch to a more militant role to defend themselves. The game could be darker and grittier than the first one. The problem I see with this are that the Kett are such bland enemies. The Jardaan/Remnant/Scourge were far more interesting, but we barely know anything about them. Perhaps make the Jardaan come back now that their vaults and Meridian have been reactivated.
For a hypothetical third game, they could make a time skip of a few centuries. Still no contact from the Milky Way and they assume the worst, so eventually they refit the arks or build better ones and send a return initiative back to the Milky Way. For this I'd personally prefer Refusal to be canon, the Reapers won and completed their harvest before retreating back to dark space. The relay network is still intact and new races have emerged and discovered the repaired Citadel (Yahg, Raloi, Drell). Some of them already found Liara's time capsules and are working on a plan to stop the next Reaper invasion. There could be interstellar war with the remaining Reaper vanguard operating in the background. Then the Milky Way initiative arrives and finds out that their homeworlds are nothing but ruins and their civilizations have vanished, replaced by primitives (kind of). Using advanced Andromeda tech they could uplift the new species, while recolonizing their homeworlds and prepare for another Reaper invasion which would come much sooner because the space squids are panicking.
They turned the Andromeda Initiative into pioneers and explorers instead of a backup plan for the survival of the Milky Way species, but they could still be that. Then again, fighting another Reaper war would be kinda boring since we already did that in ME3. The Reapers are already a known entity and their motivation are basically the result of an AI experiment gone wrong.
By making destroy canon and really screwing the survivors over, they could have the return initiative arrive in a vastly changed (but not hyper-advanced) Milky Way without Reapers. They could turn the Leviathans into the next big bad, since they don't have to hide anymore and their alliance against the Reapers was really more one of convenience. They'd go right back to enthralling entire species to worship them as gods.
But I highly doubt that there will even be another Mass effect game. Still fun to think about it though.
