They canceled the dlc for it. They had already written and added a bit of it into the base game (like they always do) and yet rather then spend a relatively small amount of time and effort and get that sweet dlc money which would likely have sold enough to make a good profit they cancelled it. The fact that they just quit so quickly and like that makes me think they were writing MEA off completely. It just doesn't make much bussiness sense otherwise. They already wrote the quarian ark story into a comic which never sounds promising since most of the people who play andromeda aren't gonna read the comic. To me that sounds like a way to wrap it up.
Maybe I am wrong but throwing away dlc money like that screams to me that they are giving up. What do you think?

Not making DLC for Andromeda doesn't imply anything about the next game. The reasons that they didn't stay in the MW are still there.

So many things wrong with your argument. 1. It would not be a small amount of time and effort. The Quarian Ark houses over half a dozen different races that don’t exist in the base game. That means making character models, animations, etc. This gets even harder since many of these races don’t use the same basic animations so those would have to be done from scratch. Unless they kept most races asleep during it, that’s far beyond a usual DLC amount of effort. And that’s not counting the rest like story, writing, voice, etc. 2. The studio that made MEA was transformed into part of a different studio: EA Motive. So they couldn’t make the DLC. Edmonton was busy with Anthem and Austin SWTOR so they couldn’t either. 3. It was written into a novel not comic just FYI.

Shrug. I'll just wait for official announcements. Your guess just doesn't matter.

I'll wait for an official announcement. I believe they will continue Andromeda.

I'd like to see more MEA but my expectations are low. I still say an expansive DLC could work to wrap things up if BW refuses to make MEA2.

It shows that they aren't necessarily going to make another Andromeda, but they still might. What it really shows is that EA is slowing the pace and taking its time with the decision how to proceed.
My guess that EA is waiting for the currently very negative attitude towards Andromeda to fade until a nostalgic attitude towards Mass Effect dominates. Then they are going to make a decision what they will do and it's going to take another six years (five years planned, one year delays).
It's not the only possibility, maybe a secretive sworn core group is already working another Mass Effect, creating concepts and concept artwork, prototypes and proof-of-concept using unmodeled placeholders and they won't come out of hiding until they got a conclusive concept for a game that they can show will work. (One of Andromeda's supposed problems, if you believe the rumors, was that they held to a concept that just wasn't feasible for the longest part of game development.)

I doubt they didn't plan on contining the dlc when they switched to the new studio. It just makes no business sense not too.
I call graphic novels comics alot so my mistake.

I don't think the active playerbase for MEA is big enough to make that viable. I honestly think this would work if it was massive and reasonably priced. However there is the problem that the quarian dlc which is the one alot of people wanted so bad has already been written into a graphic novel.

However when I heard about them scraping the andromeda dlc I was shocked and I don't think MEA sold so bad that they couldn't have mad a profit on it. So them throwing it away seemed really weird to me.

What parts of the DLC are in the base game other than the post-main quest tease? If that's it, to be honest that is not a suggestion that it was ever going to be DLC. It could have been a tease for the novel, the next game, etc. To be honest, we all syced ourselves up for DLC when Bioware never said there was going to be any. Considering everything that was going on behind the scenes before the game even came out, it is clear DLC was never going to happen.

I had to check the date on this post to make sure it wasn't 2017. Anyway, mark darrah said they could pull on threads from Andromeda or me3, so who knows. They could do more with Andromeda, I hope they do, we will just have to wait. Also the Quarian ark wasn't really teased, maybe a little. All Ryder says is they hope it gets figured out and they show up in Andromeda. It's not really a gung ho attitude.

In most games they have stuff that is part of the dlc on the disk or in the game itself like how the citadel dlc had some stuff already on ME3 base game. Not great at technical lingo so I'm probably doing a horrible job explaining it. As for not talking about the quarian dlc they practically screamed it at the end of the game.

What "most" games have doesn't prove what this game had on the disc. If you're referring to something specific that was discovered, then cite the source of that discovery. Otherwise, you're statement is meaningless and proves nothing. It certainly doesn't prove that a bunch of work is being thrown out the window.
Bioware did NOT scream DLC at the end of the game. They alluded to a Quarian ark being in trouble somewhere at the end of the game and, in fact, near the beginning of the game. How that situation was to be resolved was not committed to being in a DLC. For all we know, they were hinting at the book that did come out or they were hinting at something they were planning originally to put in a sequel game.
As I recall, the "save the quarians" petition was, in fact, based on a poll here about what sort of DLC the fans would prefer if we could possibly even hope to get a single DLC. Other choices included a DLC about Ellen's disease or about the Benefactor or the Jaardan. You can look back in the archives here to confirm what I'm saying if you wish. What Hanako Ikezawa posted is, as far as I can recall, absolutely correct. As I said, if you have something specific that was found through datamining... then cite the source. Alluding to what "most games" do isn't proof of anything.

Yep I guess bioware who has made every previous mass effect game have at least two dlc's and the dragon age games having an insane amount of dlc for them both big and small decided they would change this idea for MEA and make NONE. Yep it has nothing to do with people complaining about MEA. Nope not at all. And for the record I actually liked MEA. Not as much as the ME trilogy but I would have bought the dlc.

Cite the datamining... or you're not proving anything. The rest is all innuendo and circumstantial supposition.

Alluding to what "most games" do isn't proof of anything. I have never understood how those two mentions of the Quarian Ark meant that there was going to be DLC about the Quarian Ark. For all we know it could have been setting up the plot for the next game, for going by the logic I see that means that Mass Effect 1 was promising us an expansion or DLC focused on The Reapers because Shepard walked off to continue that fight at the end of the game. BioWare never said there was going to be DLC and BioWare never offered a Season Pass which are the what to go by from what I recall all they said is they weren't going for a trilogy again, but not everything would be wrapped up so there could be sequels. Even unused content on the disk doesn't mean DLC either because it could have been content that was cut in the middle of development due to needing to move resources elsewhere. Personally I think part of the reason why I don't think there was DLC is EA was planning on closing the studio before the game was even released. The Kotaku article makes it seem there was a problem with the leadership at BioWare Montreal and if that is the case it could have been simply EA had no faith in the studio any longer to produce content it says it can make with the budget it says it needs.
