I'd much rather have higher levels of those dialogues than have BioWare commit to putting all spoken dialogue in cutscenes, which would inevitably lead to less of it. One of the reasons why I missed the ME1 elevator conversations between party member in ME2.

Better question is Bioware even capable of delivering TLOU level writing and drama? Call me skeptical. But yes I would jump on board something like that...probably would implement 4 major choices to alter the story trajectory to start the game (male/female PC) and the end of each act.

GAAAAH MUCH RAGE AND ANGER HERE.
IS FUNNY, BECAUSE ME STARTED AS RPG AND BECAME POPAMOLE. WHICH IS WHAT UNCHARTED/TLOU IS.
WELL WRITTEN POPAMOLE, WITH A FEW RPG ELEMENTS. THEY ARE MORE SIMILAR THAN THE OLD TIMERS WANT TO ADMIT, BECAUSE THEY CLING TO WHAT WE REMEMBER AS RPG.
NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY, VORCHABOY!

Nope, nope, nope. Just a better Mass Effect 1. No save the world drama, just let me play as Captain Kirk in ME1 universe. It's really baffling how no one can do space exploration well. Your ship, crew, and fly around the galaxy solving mysteries. No open world, instead mission zones for each scenario.

Personally, I'd be over the moon if Mass Effect had exploration on par with Elite: Dangerous. Imagine traversing across the galaxy jumping through relays and possibly being surprised by a hostile alien. That sort of thing would be a pipe dream though. The devs can't put so much into that *and* try to make a focused action adventure at the same time. ME1's exploration is nice, in theory, but it doesn't mesh well with the Race Against Time.

That's why it shouldn't be "race against time". Hell, ME would actually make for fantastic Game as Service model. Make it like a video series season, each new epizode a self contained story. Like Star Trek. ( Whether this would be profitable enough for EA, that's a different matter)

I’m wary of the GaaS model. If it keeled over and died, I wouldn’t lose sleep over it. The fewer games that require always being online to enjoy its content, the better.

I am all for opening up the IP so different studios (with express permission and supervision) can tell different stories while Bioware continues to develop the mainline games. Think like the Star Wars games of the 90s and early-mid 2000s. We all know that's never going to happen, though.

BioWare should learn from The Last of Us when it comes to emotional story telling, well written complex characters, and how to create a dark tone to blend with the story and characters.
