Here's all of mine:
1. Miranda Lawson: IMO her romance had the best acting and was actually really sweet. I don't know if Bioware did this on purpose, but Miranda in ME2 was pretty cool but in ME3 she came off as the "girl of your dreams" kind of effect. Nice work writers and I think the actor was probably the best.
2. Garrus Vakarian: Pretty good script and pretty convincing. Garrus' voice actor was really good wrt immersion.
3. Tali'Zorah vas Normandy: Tali ended up being the "girl next door" type. Again really awesome voice acting, just fell short of Miranda/Garrus b/c the writing wasn't as good.
4. Liara T'Soni: The default romance. Bioware really put a lot of effort into the writing and it fell short of Miranda/Tali but still pretty good.
5. Thane Krios: Nice romance with a tragic ending. Love it. Too bad it ended so early.
6. Jack: Psycho girlfriend. The only thing that disappointed me was how the writers basically forgot her "redemption" romance story line in ME3 and she basically asks if you want to keep going or just be friends. Major immersion breaker IMO.
7. Ashley Williams: This one was the most disappointing, because in ME1 the Ashley romance was really nice, better than Liara's. But in ME3 the writers just made her seem cold and uncaring. Like my Paragon Shep was loyal to her and was only nice to her but she seemed to have forgotten how close they were in ME1.
8. Kaidan Alenko: Kaidan would have been better than Ashley if he wasn't so boring. But his romance was sweet too, just the character is too bland.
9. Kelly Chambers: A hidden gem that I personally think would have been close to number one if Bioware put in the effort in the writing. She also has that sweet girl next door type of feel.
10. Jacob Taylor: An okay romance in ME2 but a major disappointment in ME3 and not just because he cheats. But because he seems so uncaring and nonchalant about it. Like Ashley, Bioware writers seem to have a case of amnesia when it comes to how close people were in previous games. Also WTF is that FemShep seems to be totally ok with the whole thing too! No Prize here unfortunately.
11. Samara: Her limited romance was short and sweet. The reason she's not up there is because there isn't much dialogue.
12. Samantha Traynor: Pretty funny romance but a side diversion. Also really fake writing.
13. Steve Cortez: Honestly I did not even try this one, it just felt too uncomfortable and weird for me.

Thanks for the s/s romance updates! I've just moved into ME2 with them all in place and interested to see the changes.

I think so too...
it's sad to see people giving his character so much crap because people find him 'boring' though I suspect half of the people who think so don't bother saving him in the first place...not that it matters, more for us Kaidan lovers

He's not a kiss-ass. Being soft-spoken does not make him boring or weak.

I'm not saying you don't like him...though I do have a question for you
and please don't feel as if I'm attacking you because I'm not, I'm like you...just curious
when I posted on your poll that I've only romanced Kaidan, you asked me...and I quote: and even after I gave you my opinion you made me feel as if I should be romancing Garrus even if he's not my type.
so...why make me feel like I'm doing something wrong? I know you probably don't mean it that way, but that's how it makes me feel
I have certain anxieties/believes (whatever you wanna call it) where I feel the need to please everyone (even digital characters) so when people say things like that it makes me feel like I did something wrong this is probably also the reason I have a hard time making up my mind when playing games...meh...go figure
--
Also...I feel like I should clarify some more as to why only Kaidan...he makes me feel safe I know it sounds odd (and probably very weird), but back when I first played the series I would have literal nightmares about the Reapers and husks... funny enough there was always one other character in my dreams, and that was Kaidan...who would protect me or hug me, tell me it'd be alright and allow me to wake up so that's why Kaidan is my number one romance, not even just in Mass Effect but in all games I've played...he's the one romance I've never changed

Oh I was just joking with you. Personally I have done every romance except cortez and male shep with kaidan. And that was because when I originally played ME3 I had no saves that didn't have a romance (well except thane and jacob since one dies and another breaks up with you so I used those saves to romance traynor) I have started playing the ME trilogy again and have to make new imports and am leaving a male shep with no romance in ME1 and ME2 so I could have a male shep with a cortez and then a kaidan romance.
A bit of a rant but my point was I like to do all the romance options and it's a big part of the game to me and was recommending you should too. I didn't realize it was so deep for you so I apologize.

Oh, I thought Kayden was supposed to be a portmanteau for a same sex romance

Ah then the sarcasm didn't properly register with me (I tend to be better at recognizing sarcasm), it's alright, and apology accepted
generally I also tend to try every romance I come across, though for Mass Effect I've only tried 3 of them in the past (Kaidan, Liara (ME1 only) and Jacob (ME2 only) When I first started the series I'd only played Dragon Age, and wasn't even aware Mass Effect existed until a friend of mine pointed it out
the conversation pretty much went like 'I'm playing this game called DA, it's a lot of fun' and he was like 'have you tried ME? It's from the same developer' so I bought the second game and played it, Jacob became my first Mass Effect romance, then I found out choices from the first game affected the second one and picked up the first. At first I was a bit skeptical of Kaidan to be honest (I had played Star Wars KotOR in the past and thought he'd be like Carth due to having the same VA) but he pleasantly surprised me
In Dragon Age I've so far done all romances in Origins, I've done almost all in DA2 (except for Anders) and in Inquisition I've so far only romanced Cullen and Cassandra (due to only having finished the game twice so that might change in the future)
I've yet to decide who I'll romance once I get around to Andromeda though, I've watched almost all of the romances on YouTube to get a feel of them (I've yet to watch the ones for Cora and PeeBee) but I'm having a hard time deciding

But if you can't, but want to try all the Romances, there is a Mod that lets you do them all in the same playthrough. Just the last Romance cutscene before the final attack gets bugged, but doesn't crash or break the game. Small sacrifice for all the time saved.

I played DAO and loved it. Then saw that ME1 was made by the same studio and got it as my third game in a two for three deal at gamestop. It froze up right at eden prime But I was so into the game I went out and not only got a replacement but ME2 as well.
In andromeda I did "cora, jaal, pee bee,and Vetra. I will say that as a male ryder I loved the cora romance and not just because she had a "spicy" romance "scene". Vetra was great as well and jaal was just so sweet and...you know all four of those are really good and I think that MEA did romance well.
In inquistition I would recommend the sera romance with either a dwarf or qunari. The Iron bull romance is good as well. Personally I liked the dorian romance but was sad how it ended.
Biowares greatest strength is their companions and their relationships so I always try them at least once.

I have tried a playthrough in the past but couldn't really get into it, though I might try again once I've done a Trilogy playthrough out of all the romances I've watched on youtube so far Reyes and Jaal stand out for me, and maybe Vetra, though like I said I've yet to decide
I did Vetra's in my one and only MEA playthrough. I think it's got some really cute scenes
For anyone who wanders by: I'll put my question here instead of starting a brand new thread for it. After I finish my current Shepard (paragon mshep), I'd like to do a really ruthless renegade femshep. Are there any romance options that are especially interesting for such a character? Only stipulations are no Garrus (I know he's the best, but I want to try someone new ) and no Thane (because mandibles are A-OK, but scales and frog eyes are a no-go for me ).

Kaidan might be interesting if you like the whole "opposites attract" thing since he's as paragon as they come. Or if you're a Liara fan a renegade Shepard could add to why she becomes more ruthless between games.

Before the patch I romanced everyone in one playthrough. Even Keri, with her "let's cheat on your bf/gf". Not sure what you mean by pre-patch. I finished Andromeda pretty late because I took a long break. There is a Mod on Nexus that opens up Multiple Romances. Unless there was a recent patch, that mod still worked back in late 2018.

Haha I know! Andromeda sucks. it has potential, but I feel as if large portions of the story are just...missing plus, in comparison to ME3 and Dragon Age Inquisition a lot of the character models seem to be quite lacking as well also comparing to the CC in DAI, the one in Andromeda seems rather hollow as well (they do have a few more varied hair styles though, plus some of them move...that's always good )
the only aspect I liked about Andromeda was the exploration part (it's one of my favorite things to do in games, just exploring), kinda wish there were more new aliens though

What's it called?

What's it called? I think I found it link it's called Romance for all I saw that but failed to read through. I only noticed the gender restrictions part. The very next sentence says as much. It doesn't mention that multiple romances were allowed in MEA prior to the patch (setting aside Peebee and Keri).

but I came to MEA quite late, seeing as at the time when it was released I was still on the hesitant side to try Mass Effect again (seeing as until recently I kept having nightmares related to husks and reapers), so I bought it in a local game store on a discount
I mean, it's an okay game...I just need to get really into it, and seeing as at present I'm replaying the trilogy, maybe I might give it another try once I've finished a trilogy run

If the next game is in andromeda. It's not that I didn't like MEA but it doesn't have the incredible replayability that the ME trilogy did. Or the DA games did.

I have several games that I've finished about once or twice and don't bother with again because as you say, they don't really have much re-playability (can't really name any atm. from the top of my head though)
That's what I love about the Mass Effect trilogy and Dragon Age games (also Elder Scrolls games and Fire Emblem Awakening), they're games you can put away for a while and then pick up again. And enjoy them again like you did the first time
After my absence from the Mass Effect trilogy for over 6 years, it's great to replay them again (also no nightmares so far, yay! (though I think I know where they came from at the time...I had a lot of stress back then, still do but I'm getting better) it's funny that despite such a long time my memory on the games is still pretty vivid, at least as far as story lines go
I have had problems with the gathering quests (prothean discs and stuff) in ME1 that I have to keep the wikia nearby to know where they all are (I'm a completionist )
I wouldn't mind having another game set in Andromeda, but they'd really have to make some changes to make me as invested as I am in the Trilogy or the DA games
