Rather then make one mass effect game every four or five years or whatever they will be doing why not have two teams working on two games at the same time. One team works on andromeda and one team works on the milky way. It would keep the enthusiasm for mass effect up.
Now when I say both I mean two seperate series. So one year we might get on game from the milky way and in another year or two we would get a game from the andromeda team. The games take place in different times and different galaxies so why not have them work like this. They would have seperate budgets and seperate teams so one wouldn't effect the other.

I really don't see that happening. Bioware has historically had two major IP's (Mass Effect and Dragon Age) and has most recently fallen under fire for overworking their staff as they tried expanding to 3 (by adding in Anthem). Doing two series of ME games would be no different than having 3 separate IPs and would mean 4 IPs if they don't drop Anthem (and I don't think they will). The rotation would still probably take five to six years unless they greatly increase their staff... and given recent fan reaction to their games, EA is most certainly not going to consider allowing Bioware to expand their staff.

Or have it where one team releases a Mass Effect game in the Milky Way, then the DA team releases a DA game a year or two later, then a Mass Effect Andromeda team releases a game a year or two after the DA game. Then repeat the cycle. Will that happen? Unlikely.

Why not though? It would be a gamble but I think it would work. I am no expert on business so i could be completly wrong but I think it would. Try convincing EA to put up the venture capital to pay that additional team, particularly when they just transferred all of Bioware Montreal to EA Motive. You're right... you know nothing about business. The issue is, in part, the games hit crunch time 18 months before release and Bioware "borrows" expertise from whatever team responsible for the game farthest away from release in order to get the current one out on EA's firm deadline... and they're failing to finish those games to the expect quality even "borrowing" staff from those other teams and they're likely causing the games farther away from release to fall farther and farther behind EA's schedule. It's a vicious circle for them. As morale slides, people also generally get less productive... creating further delays.
Then... you have the issue of Bioware's working environment being labeled a "toxic" in the press. This hampers their ability to hire the best people.... people who have the option to work for other companies will probably do so to avoid that environment (whether it's truly toxic or not).

Gamergate poisoned some people's minds. Don't look for sense here. Okay now I feel like a dumbass but I have to ask. Are you guys talking about something specific. DMC said it in response to someone mentioning how some people say bioware is a toxic environment. And I have never heard of gamer gate. And yes I know t is reffering to some scandal since you added "gate" at the end of it (a reference to watergate). So at the risk of sounding like an idiot what is gamergate.

I don't know what DMC is going on about. I'm referring to Schrier's article describing about people were being worked to tears and having to take stress leave. In a general sense, when articles like that are written about companies, it makes it a little tougher for them to higher (s/b hire) "the best" people if there are other jobs in the same fields available to the candidates looking for work. If given a choice to work for a company with a reputation for having a good work environment and one that has a less than stellar one, most people will go for the former (as long as things like salary and location are roughly the same).

I didn't see anything about gamers harassing gaming developers or anything like that. The article that UP was talking about was how the developers and such were being treated by the company and such.

I don't really see much good coming out of splitting the franchise in two. Andromeda is part of the MEU as a whole, even if the galactic backdrop's changed. I'd rather full attention be given to one or the other, not both. Besides, only reason Andromeda even exists is because the studio simply can't be arsed to bite the bullet and pick an ending, and I suspect they never will.

I am in favor of Andromeda just being continued in comics or occasionally mentioned. I want to return to the Milky Way.
Andromeda can be like Ultimate Marvel or Age of Apocalypse. Occasionally referenced, but not mainly focused on.

It would require a separate studio, that isn't Bioware Edmonton or Austin at this point, to do sequels for one of the two. Edmonton just doesn't have the manpower to do it anymore. I mean, they had to put up job listings for Anthem post launch to work on it. I think they will require a whole lot more people in order to make this plan viable. It all depends on the RoI of that, if it will be viable. Judging by Montreal, it isn't.

Then... you have the issue of Bioware's working environment being labeled a "toxic" in the press. This hampers their ability to hire the best people.... people who have the option to work for other companies will probably do so to avoid that environment (whether it's truly toxic or not). You mean by that one annoying bitch who thinks everything is racist, sexist, homophobic and XXX-phobic? She's faded away so I hope corporations will move on and realize they're actually a minority and only have as much power as well give them.
I think he was referring the Jason Schreier's Kotaku article, not Gamergate.
The article seems impartial though, unlike Gamergate, so I think it's not fair to generalize everything. And from the latest news it seems this behaviour is not exclusive to Bioware, some Fortnite, No Man's Sky and Apex Legends devs also complained about the same issues described in Schreier's article. The best part of the discussion? In the latest patch notes Bioware confirmed that Anthem was a "early access" game sold as a VIP one.
To stay true to the topic, I have a better idea than one milky way/one andromeda game. How about forget this crap "game as service" trend, stop mutilating SP games, write a good story and make a good game. One that people want to buy and you can sell truckloads of copies, therefore making buckets upon buckets of money.
Oh yeah, it demands hard work, I forgot that.

Me I'm the other way around, there is absolutely NOTHING that interests me in going back to the Milky Way in a game. As novels and comics sure, but as a game not really. I want to go froward not backwards.
