Is it good? I kind of feel like they're doing too much with pokemon. Then again i felt like that in gen 2 and stopped playing and came back during X and Y got adjusted to the new stuff like mega evolutions and now they've changed it yet again. Maybe change is good. I like change, its just with pokemon it kinda feels overwhelming

The story for this game is surprisingly long. I've finished 3 of the 4 islands' trials, and am starting the fourth, after around 23 hours of gameplay. The only thing I don't really like so far are the evolutions that come about from leveling up pokemon in certain locations (but that's been a thing for several generations). Like, I have a Magneton and a Crabrawler, and to evolve Magneton into Magnezone, you have to level up the Magneton at Poni Canyon, which is on the fourth island. Crabrawler is even worse, you have to level it up at Mount Lanakila, which can't be accessed until AFTER you do all 4 island trials. Both Crabrawler and the Magnemite line are fairly early-game pokemon, too.

Got back from work so it's time to get started.
I hope I can catch an eevee because I have a rule that I always use an Umbreon on my first runs in pokemon games (umbroen is my favorite pokemon)

"Get out"
To demonstrate my great respect for his privacy and personal space, I proceeded to walk all over his room, examine everything I could, watch tv and go through his trash before leaving because there was nothing else left for me to do.
As a note, so far I'm just loving this game: it's fun, it's funny and there's just so much I adore in the details, atmosphere and what I've seen so far of the story.

When you visit the professor Lilie gets angry at Hau because at first he tries to get up to her room. So when the little cutscene ends I put my evil plan into motion and get up to her room and proceed to look at everything, try to read her diary and sleep on her bed .

So I've heard about a very easy way to increase happiness in the new pokemon game
Seems very useful but not sure if this was intended. It might have been a bug. I'm going to try this out when I have some free time at work.
My pichu needs some evolving before I take on the first trial.

It feels lengthy but without feeling drawn out or becoming tedious. I think they did a good job with it. So far, I have barely any complaints. I do have a few but they are more or less minor bothers and said bothers drown in how enjoyable the game is otherwise. I don't like either that some evolutions are restricted to areas that are late game but as you've said, it's not exclusive to this game. Got a Magneton myself: it evolved right as I arrived on the fourth island courtesy of Hau. I named it Pui'wa which is quite fitting including because I didn't expect it to become one of my permanent party members.

My Magneton (now Magnezone) is still in my party, caught it at level 11 and it's now level 68. I've beaten the Elite Four and have become Alola's first Champion. Now, to catch the 4th Tapu (I've got Koko, Lele, and Fini) and the Ultra Beasts. I'll do some Battle Tree stuff too for Mega Stones. Speaking of Mega Stones and Mega Evolutions, I can't wait until the Pokemon Bank is updated for these games so I can port over my Rayquaza. I want to give it a Z-stone and see if I can have it Mega Evolve and use a Z-power at the same time, since it doesn't require a Mega Stone to evolve.

Going to keep an eye on this title. With several sales ongoing and in the coming weeks might finally pick up handheld and a few games. Been missing that kind of experience for a fair while now and totally missed a bit of Pokémon

Going to keep an eye on this title. With several sales ongoing and in the coming weeks might finally pick up handheld and a few games. Been missing that kind of experience for a fair while now and totally missed a bit of Pokémon I would recommend it. Gen 7 (that is, the current generation with Sun and Moon) is excellent thus far. Not a ton of new Pokemon (around 70 or so), but a lot of Gen 1 Pokemon received new forms that give them new types and mix up their battle playstyles. Lunala, the version legendary for Moon, is awesome (I can't speak for Solgaleo, the Sun legendary, because I don't have Sun) both in visual/sound design and battle prowess, and the story is surprisingly good and much darker than the usual Pokemon fare, with regular references to death (the last generation to feature death so prominently being Gen 2 with Gold/Silver/Crystal) and generally being much more somber than the prior games. The criminal team, Team Skull, is also pretty great, maybe my second-favorite so far across all 7 generations. They're basically gang members, but they, like everything else with Sun/Moon, are much darker than the previous teams. Their leader has a pretty sad backstory as well. The new legendary Pokemon are all pretty cool, plus there are Ultra Beasts, which are Pokemon-but-not-really who are effectively just legendaries, due to their immense power and how difficult they are to catch. If you do end up getting a 3DS and Sun/Moon, I would also recommend checking out at least the Gen 3 remakes, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. They have all of the same features as the original Ruby and Sapphire, but with the new gameplay mechanics introduced in Gens 4, 5, and 6, and the stories have been slightly changed and greatly improved, and offer much more replay value than before.

So I've tested out the TM happiness thing and it might not have been right.
I tried it out but it didn't really seem to work. Most sites said that it takes about 10 minutes and I spent arount that much time on it. The Pokemon community also seems very confused on the matter. Some say it makes a difference, some say it doesn't. I guess this kind of stuff happens with a game that's just released.
I'll be sure to tell what's up when the pros are 100% sure on the matter.
In other news, I realized that they took the exp. formula from BW2 instead of the one from pretty much any other pokemon game which is a big plus in my book!

So yeah if I make the jump the game sounds like the perfect one to pick it all up again Ruby and Sapphire were the last two that I reeeeeally played so will give the remakes a look. Did enjoy the originals quite a bit Going to keep an eye on this title. With several sales ongoing and in the coming weeks might finally pick up handheld and a few games. Why wouldn't the Ultra Beasts count as Pokemon? What could there possibly be about them that's so unique that they need a separate classification, considering the crazy things that already exist in the setting that do get classified as Pokemon instead of warranting coming up with a new term for them?

They're from a different universe than that of Sun/Moon. For all intents and purposes they are just Pokemon (you catch them in pokeballs and they have pokedex entries), but the game says they're not, so... They're not. They're basically alt-universe eldritch monster Pokemon that are on par with legendaries. Also, it's implied that they destroyed the universe of the pre Gen 6 games. That is, the original Red/Blue up to White/Black.

Given his expression, I am actually a little bit worried now. This is going be like Ghetsis trying to murder me with giant icicles, isn't it?
