Your so called proof of going f2p is the discount. So unless it can be applied evenly across the board it sin't proof of anything. The really rapid discount, plus the lack of a player base, plus EA's track record in such situations, plus the Bioware's track record with SWTOR. It's not just one thing The rapid discount is just the latest clue. Soon the game will be available at Origin Access. Probably when the price drops below 20 dollars in couple of weeks or so. It really isn't fast. It is slower than BF4, BF1 and BFV. None of which are f2p. As for Origin access, yes of course Anthem will eventually enter the vault. Thanks for stating the obvious. Which of course have nothing to do with f2p.

Sad as it is, the game has gone to the crapper. Bio and company may attempt a herculean effort to revitalize Anthem but it's too late. Much of the player base came and left. Bio and EA should have adhered to this business motto. It's much easier to retain a customer than to bring that customer back.
This amusing discussion regarding whether Anthem will go f2p is like asking the medieval theology question of "how many angels can dance on the head of a pin". ... which had more to do with the fact that angels are non spatial and so an infinite number of them could occupy a point.
What really should concern us is the viability of the game to bring in a sustained revenue stream to pay the salaries of those people tasked to support and develop new content for Anthem. Otherwise, it's MEA all over again.

You can't retain players for unlimited time - there is always ppl draining away. The key is building enough base and interest and keep the retention up until content drops. It's an ongoing cycle of drop-outs and returning players. Dropping out isn't bad neither - unless players drop out of frustration.
With a team that has to juggle two games, I'm sceptical they can deliver. I'm not aware of any major online game that is successfully maintained by a team that has to operate other stuff, but that is just me.
