I want to make something really clear here, I LOVE Anthem! I love it’s world, the characters, the action, the flying, the power build-up, it’s a REALLY fun and engaging game!
My issue lies in the same category as a lot of other people have with this game, which is the lack of endgame content, or at least, a substantial amount of it. I’m still working on contracts, and once I get those done and reach the appropriate levels, I’ll also be able to do the Strongholds. But after that, I don’t see myself constantly playing it to grind for more powerful gear.
I’ve never really been a grinder for games, preferring to play until the completion of the story and maybe some side quests, and often times relying on what my skill level and gear I have in that moment.
So I’m making the decision to stop playing Anthem once I complete all the contracts and Strongholds. I don’t want this to sound like I’m “giving” up on Anthem, because I hate that concept of just abandoning a game I legitimately enjoy. Besides, I do believe that Anthem does have the potential to become better, especially with the upcoming Cataclysm event and further patches. So this will in a sense be a temporary break, in which I will return to Anthem the moment it gets a major new update.
I really wish Anthem the best of luck and look forward to playing it again in the future!

How long do you reckon that'll take? What if Cataclysm comes out before you finish those, will you keep playing then? I guess you would based on you saying you'll come back once it gets a new update. I just wish more people were playing period, it sucks to do the new contracts on hard by myself, especially playing as Storm.

I can play games for pretty long sittings, and I usually don't play above Normal difficulty (Normal has the same awards bonuses as Hard). With free-time, I would say it would take me a week to a month to finish everything else, hopefully. Truth be told, a main reason I want to stop temporarily is that I want to give other games I have a chance, and something I underestimated about Anthem is just how much of a time commitment it is.

I get it. It's why I stopped playing Destiny for awhile. I'm playing Rage 2 right now, and if you want pure action packed fun, I'd suggest that. I got to level 30 in TD2 and then got bored. Once I finish Rage I'm going back to Borderlands 2 to play the new content. So much stuff out there now. I didn't realize that about "hard" giving the same awards as "normal", or vice versa. I may have to switch back to normal then as it might bring more into matchmaking then I see now.

Eh, matchmaking on pretty much any level ain't good nowadays due to the unfortunate number of gamers ditching Anthem due to it's current problems.

due to it's current problems. I'm not convinced Anthem has any particular 'problems' beyond a need for more (and different types of) content. But like the OP, having completed all challenges, achievements and a 788 main Javelin, I'm on hiatus.

Sofa, I respect your work as a moderator, but you're in serious denial if you don't see more problems than lack of content - matchmaking - crashes - disconnects - no stats to make a proper build - powers/skills made available through RNG - slowness of bug fixes, and sometimes lack of fixes for bugs dating from "beta" - absolute lack of communication - "not so engaging" story/lore (I'm not saying other GaaS li'e Destiny or The Division are better but that's Bioware) - and all the basic functions a multiplayer game should have (text chat, guild/clan/whatever, lobby management, etc...)

From my perspective there's a difference between problems (bugs) and stuff the game doesn't have yet. The crashes and disconnects i simply don't encounter (Console vs PC may be an issue here). I can matchmake perfectly well, at least up to 2 weeks ago. As for the other stuff, we know a stat page, more story and guilds are coming, but I was pleased with the story in the launch content, if short.

No. It has voice to text and text to voice, but it definitely requires a proper chat system if they're going to be any sort of complicated mechanics or puzzles implemented. If not, then it can survive without one.

A USB keyboard costs 10 dollars, you'll likely have one for your computer, you can actually plug that into your console ... Furthermore, when you're doing puzzles or setting up for mechanics, there is usually a lul in the gameplay so even if you don't have a USB keyboard (really?) you can take your time and use the on screen keyboard. Playing FFXIV and ESO and have no problem communicating mechanics with console players via text

Playing FFXIV and ESO and have no problem communicating mechanics with console players via text Why would I be needing to buy additional peripherals? I haven't owned a windows computer for more than a decade. I suspected this was about needy 'PC player' entitlement. And as cross-play looks more likely, anything that can't be implemented on all platforms, won't be implemented on any one platform. I think the likelihood of a more advanced text chat for PC is dead in the water.

Ah, so clicking through an on-screen keyboard with a controller. I think I'd rather talk, the time that takes, but it's an option I guess. And that's perfectly valid. But some people don't want to talk because they, for example, don't want to reveal their gender, they stutter, they're embarrassed or shy, and a whole host of other reasons. And that's not going into the rare, but definitely real cases, of people who physically can't talk. And right now it's voice or nothing, whereas I would like a text OPTION. Emphasis on the option part

And considering the limitations of voice to text and text to voice in the system it's currently embedded in, I would very much wager it's used almost not at all.
