Have you upgraded the BIOS? At this point the mobo becomes suspect or the CPU.
Hi Sartoz. I have not upgraded the BIOS yet, that's one thing I will work on this weekend....though admittedly, that's the one thing that I am somewhat unsure of doing mysself for risk of really messing things up even more. If I could have someone do it for me, or walk me through the process of doing it safely and correctly, I might feel better about tackling it myself. One way or another though, I do plan on doing that soon.

I don't do any over-clocking typically.....Unless you count setting the RAM Speed/Frequency in the BIOS upon initial Set-up from the basic/stock 2133 of all DDR4 to the advertised speed of 2400 which it is more than capable of handling. Other than that I never do anything OC related on any of my hardware.

Diagnosing an intermittent problem is difficult and takes time. You have already started. I think the best option is to divide the problem as a binary solution set. Hardware or Software. This is what I would do.
Eliminate the PS as a problem point.
From what you said, your rig runs fine without Anthem or did run fine until Anthem came into the picture. If this is all true, then what does Anthem do vis-a-vis the PC system? Why it puts a heavy load on your Power Supply. I'm assuming you are running a SLI setup with two graphics cards. That requirement can be satisfied with a solid Gold PS capable of delivering the necessary juice on demand. Starting Anthem means it places a heavy load on the PS because of its graphics settings. Try reducing the graphics settings to LOW or run with one card. The result should tell you if its a PS problem. (I'm also assuming that the BSOD occurs once you are actually playing and not in the initial load screen).
Eliminate the BIOS as a problem point
Updating a recommended BIOS version is definitely a good idea.
Eliminate Memory with Anthem as a problem point.
Run Anthem with one stick, graphics low. Turn graphic setting up slowly and play. Repeat test by swapping the DIMM stick. The game can run with 16GB.
Eliminate Storage as a problem point.
You've done the storage checks right? ( ie: sfc /scannow and chkdsk /f)
Clean Boot
Can you run Anthem with a clean boot? This eliminates any third party program because you only have Microsoft code and Anthem and Origins. It's a hassle but, hey, it needs to be done.
BTW, are you OC'ing anything?
Good morning. My PC specs are as follows:
CPU: Intel 6850K (six cores @ 3.6 Ghz)
Motherboard: X-99 based Gigabyte Phoenix SLI
DDR4: 32GB DDR4 from G.SKILL @ 2400 Mhz
GPU: single EVGA GTX 1080 FTW2 (I haven't run an SLI setup since 2013- to July 2016 when I upgraded from two 980 FTWs to my now single 1080 FTW2) and I won't go back to SLI.
Bootable Drive: 512MB Samsung 950 Pro M.2 with NVMe
Slave SSD for backup: Crucial MX300 1TB
CPU Liq. Cooler: Corsair H80i v.2
Monitor: S27D850T from Samsung (27" LED PLS panel 2560x1440 @ 60 hz)
OS: Genuine Windows 10 PRO 64-bit (latest version 1903)
Case: CoolerMaster H500m Midtower with glass panels and mesh front. (two 140mm fans on top + CPU Cooler, one 140 mm fan @ rear, two 200 mm fans on front)
I haven't tested any games or other software with fewer chips...BUt I have run all the Memory, Power and Store tests that I can possibly think of. SFC and ChkDsk were among the first tests I ran way back when this all started. I've also run, Windows Memory Diagnostic and MemTest86 and both Memory tests PASSED with flying colours.
As stated in previous posts, I have also tested each physical chip individually. First by taking out all four chips and then inserted each single chip own its own and runnign it for a day with one chip each time. Then adding two and running it for a day.....then three, and finally reinstalling the whole complement of 4 chips.
With my PSU being an 850 Plantinum, I should have far more than enough clean power....and I have run ANTHEM since Launch without issues prior to this with everything set to ULTRA and no *red flags* of any kind- even bugs in the game that others were reporting. I have only seen game-related bugs from the 3rd most recent Patch (ie frostbite sound bug). Prior to that Patch, it was perfect.
This whole problem began when first downloading the PTS, or at least that's when things really started to go bad. Prior to that, I have run ANTHEM, ANDROMEDA and DAI all on ULTRA Settings without any issues at all. And while it still happens most frequently when I install Patches for ANTHEM or try to play it....(sometimes I can't even load it, others I get two steps into the Enclave and then it crashes)....It also happens now when doing other things like working in WORD or surfing the Web. It is most trackable when doing something ANTHEM-related, but happens very randomly with other things as well.
When I build any system, I also try to go at least one or two (or more if my budget and wallet can afford it) 'steps' above anything that is 'Recommended'....for example, the PSU. Manufacturers recommend at least 600 watts Bronze rating....so I've chosen an 850 watt Platinum. Games 'recommend' 16 Gigs....I've always gone with 32. yes I know it's system-overkill...But I'd rather have far more than I need that even 2MB not enough.
I think I am going to Uninstall the PTS (since I haven't played it anyhow) given that that is really when everything started going bad....Then I'll see what happens.

Well, he next step is radical and that would be to do a clean boot. It's possible some third party program misbehaves. Sometimes back, Avast caused occasional Bsods. Some of these 3r party programs leave a memory footprint... you know, so that they can call home and 'advise you" of an update.
BTW, what windows 10 version are you running? I'm on 1903 home.
Have a look at this web page. It describes causes and solutions for the Quota_Underflow BSOD.. Device drives may be something to look at.
Hey buddy.....I'm on the latest v. 1903 64bit PRO. I've updated all my Drivers just within the last week. Oddly enough, just about 25 minutes ago immediately after I installed an Update for ANTHEM-- and I mean, IMMEDIATELY- I got another flurkin BSOD with the Memory Management stop code. Strange that most of these BSODs and stop codes come after recent updates to ANTHEM, but that's how it's been for me. Origin and the download of the PTS even completely crashed the first 5x I tried to install the PTS when it was released. Then SH-- started going downhill and everything very south very hard from there.
I copied the entire bug check code, the whole string....and read three sites (Tom's Hardware, HardwareCanucks and Windows10 Forums) ad they all said that this particular stop code, Memory Management has to do with the NTOS Kernal (an integral segment of the OS) but that that is tied into the BIOS and it could all be snowballed from an outdated BIOS.
I'm running an X-99 Phoenix SLI (great board, I love it) but I haven't updated the BIOS since I first bought it and installed the first recommended Bios update because until now everything has been smooth. If my Bios Updates (one for CPU Coding/Instruction Sets and the other specifically for Memory Performance) don't do the trick, then my next step is to try and clone from an older back-up on an SSD that I have. I would have to install the SSD first (currently running an M.2 as my bootable), get the SSD all up to date, and then clone it to my M.2 and see if that fixes things.
If cloning from a backup doesn't work, then I'm gonna need to "Repair Windows".......UGH!

Diagnosing memory BSODs can be challenging because a number of variables can come into play.
Nevertheless, let's see if we can corner this sucker.
(1) Chip fault in the memory stick.
Causes: 1) A true hard failure, 2) failure due to heat (chip is sensitive to heat and heat causes hardware failures).
Run the memory diagnostic tool available with your windows 10. Hit the Windows key + X. Near the bottom of the list select RUN. Type MDSCHED.EXE in the selection window then click on OK. A Windows memory Diagnostic panel will pop up. Make you choice.
The diagnostic program won't detect anything if it's heat related and your memory stick is "cool".
Possible bypass of problem:
Now you could always try reducing your graphics setting and see where that takes you. Why? Reducing your memory footprint may work because RAM assignment may bypass the fault area.

Hi Sartoz. Thanks for the reply, the assistance and advice. Back when this all started, I immediately ran the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool (more than once) and it came up 100% "Healthy" no issues detected. I even ran the SFC scan in the DOS-based Command Prompt, also coming up with no issues. Next, I took out all 4 chips and one-by-one put each individual chip back in each on its own, testing single chips, then two, then three etc and still had no problems. I did briefly run into a random BSOD after re-installing all 4 chips, but no cause was determined and then for the next few days it would run just fine. Until randomly, while playing ANTHEM or surfing the Web.....I get it again. And so I start all over again.
Then, thinking it may be due to faulty keys and other entries in the Registry, I purchased the Professional version of CCleaner (because the FREE version no longer runs on Windows 10) and took steps to propely clean the Registry. No problems of any kind for more than a week.........
Until just the other day when I loaded ANTHEM.....Back to the same BSOD stop codes 1) QUOTA_UNDERFLOW and 2) Memory Management
No idea what the QUOTA UNDERFLOW is all about, not even sure what that means......But the Memory Management one is really weird as every test I can think to run comes back as a PASS and 100% Clean.

Why buy a new 96" OLED when a 21" Hitachi Ultravision CRT from 1981 works perfectly fine? I love watching fuzzy, 4:3 640x320 tv.......8K doesn't even come close!
Seriously though....back in the 80s those were great TVs and there were only two companies that actually made their own picture tubes: Hitachi and Panasonic. Everything else was outsourced to Philips.
That being said....now Hitachi has long priced themselves out of the LCD, LED, OLED market....I haven't seen an Hitachi LCD since 2005, and they were horrible then; like looking through a screen door. very large pixels. The new Panasonic OLEDs are a thing of beauty though, much better than even LG (which has burn-in and serious light-bleed issues). The only thing that even comes close to the new Panasonic OLEDs are Sony's, and that's only in the latter's higher end models. Sony has a history of putting the best quality stuff in all their high end models, and the other mid-range models get the leftovers.

Go with Zen 2. The Ryzen R5 3600x, that is due out at July 7th will beat out even the 8700k, possibly even the 9700k in gaming related workloads, while perfectly obliterating them in multithreaded workloads. You won't even need to replace the RAM and the 3600X will work on even a B350 motherboard, which are really cheap are were perfectly suited for the previous 6c/12t Ryzen and will offer support for new ones as well. Provided their BIOS is updated and ready for Zen 2. Should cost somewhere between $400-500 tops.
Thanks for your input....But I have had one AMD CPU (circa 2002) and I swore I would never ever go anywhere near them ever again. The chip was so underpowered and over-worked....It go so hot because cases then didn't have the ventilation and cooling they do now (at least not the ones I was given), that in less than two weeks it had literally FUSED itself to the socket of my motherboard. I took it back to my builder at the time, and he gave me the Intel chip that had just released then....The 2.2 Ghz Intel Core2Duo....which I ran for 5 years-plus without problems. From then on I've always gone with Intel.

It's a work in progress. It advances the story a bit. Heart of Rage was not the end of chapter one of the story, the Cataclysm might be … not going to spoil the story … it's more vignette than complete addition … but continues with some foreshadowing of where chapter two will take us.
Gameplay … Valkyries are definitely tougher … but not insane (at least on GM1). Some new world events … along with the older style of world events. The new ones need some work … it's like the spec where you can pick any two of the three … they tried to do all three and that doesn't quite work (timed event with a short timer, objective that is a bullet sponge, limited access to the event where folks are locked out after a short time, making it very tough for a solo player to complete the task in the allotted time … remember, this is in freeplay).
Game seems stable … there is a bug where unlocking the Javelins causes a CTD … but beyond that, I've not had issues. The story has some issues in surround sound mode … where certain conversations are either way too quiet or completely muted … it's almost as if the center channel is missing the audio signal.
They've tweaked the universal components … my guess is that almost no one was using them … now they are viable alternatives to some of the Javelin-specific components. The MW support gear is better (inscriptions don't show, but are there … they are aware of the bug). Lego support gear should be better still … makes the support gear somewhat useful on GM1 and maybe GM2.
There is a new form of currency … don't know what it is yet or how it is obtained … if I were to guess, I'd say it will be something like mission funds in MEAMP … so you'll have in-game currency (coin), purchased currency (shards) … plus "Mission Funds" of some kind (I assume) to buy the chests that hold gear and weapons. There may be alternate paths to buy the chests … say with coin … no idea. There is a new vendor in the fort … I assume that is where you go to buy the gear and weapons … but right now, after I've had a few conversations with him, there is no opportunity to buy anything. I expect that in the coming days or weeks.
I didn't set the story to private (unlike what I did with the released version of Anthem) … but with one exception, I've played the story solo. I think I had a BioWare person join me … thought I had a teammate … mostly the person played the role of Chauncey Gardner … didn't matter, running the story solo on GM1 is not really a problem (just remember, the Thunderbolt of Yvenia is your friend).
I tried the Cataclysm when PTS was first released … have not played it yet after the big update … this time I've done the story up to the Cataclysm, so I can put the event into proper context … we'll see how much it's changed since the first release … plus, I'll spend more time on it than I did the first attempt. But before I do that, I intend to explore the new freeplay world events … see how those have evolved since the first release.
Overall … if you don't want to spoil it before playing the full up released version, you can skip the story completely … so you can check out freeplay and the Cataclysm to see if you like what they've done … plus add your own feedback to the dev team in the sub-forum they've provided (and linked to in-game). If you have the storage space available on your computer and the download isn't a deterrent … give it a try. They start you out at level 30, a few lego weapons with lame inscriptions, some decent gear and a few MW components … but lots of resources, so I just crafted some MW weapons and gear that had decent inscriptions, plus support gear and went with that.
They put you in a context that is after the Heart of Rage, but prior to completing the story … I've redone those end of story elements, plus used this third pilot to pick both response 1 and response 2 in the conversations … that middle ground compared to the solid response 1 of my first pilot and solid response 2 for my second pilot. Also, most of the challenges are disabled. You can still do LCs, collect runes, manuscripts, etc., but things like challenge of might, daily challenges, lancer reputation amongst the various factions … those are all disabled.

(ie, will the Cataclysm WE be over....is it just for the PTS? Silly question, but I want to make sure that I'm not actually missing anything crucial like WEs or Story etc by skipping the Test) I am assuming that Launch will have the same content (ie Cataclysm and Story) but have (most of) the kinks worked out.

-Thanks for the reply, Grinch....I'll bear that in mind. I've put all 32 gb back in my system this morning when I woke up....and now I'll wait and see what happens. There's a few other things I can do to diagnose the problem and/or do my best to get my system back up and running like normal.....Last night, I was just thinking of the worst case scenario- while trying not to let my mind run away with me as it often can in situations like this.
But on topic: I' have not had any chance to take part in the PTS...what's it like? Is it fun? Is it good? Am I missing out on anything, or should I wait until it actually launches?

8:00 p.m. ET....After spending all day testing and re-testing RAM, through a process of elimination testing each individual chip for several hours and then gradually adding one more (from 8 to 16, 16 to 24 etc), I have found that with two chips my system is stable....But as soon as I get to a full complement of 32....the system eventually goes to a BSOD with the stop code of "Memory_Management" after an average of 3 hours being idle.
Each DDR4 chip checks out as being "healthy" in every test I can think of performing for diagnosing RAM issues....and considering that one chip of 8 is okay, even two is fine.....But 4 creates a problem-- I dread the thought that it is not a RAM issue but a motherboard issue. I do not want to have to replace my motherboard. There are no X-99 based motherboards out there, especially not in the price bracket I originally paid for the Gigabyte Phoenix SLI at 500.00.
And if I am going to replace the motherboard, I might as well rebuild and update my entire platform with new stuff. Yet that is the biggest expense that I do not want to incur at this time. To replace everything with new tech in the calibur and price range of the stuff that I have....would cost easily 5000.00 and I can't afford that right now, but even if I could...I wouldn't want to spend that much on a new system when my current one is just 3 years old.
Not sure what to do at this point....

My thanks to everyone for their replies......I fixed the problem; as I suspected, it was caused by missing/invalid or corrupted (any one or all of these adjustectives) registry keys. ......I stand corrected: about 15 minutes ago, after several hours of stability, I got another random BSOD with the same stop code "Memory_Management"......so now I'm back to square one, re-testing my RAM for issues.

Yesterday while updating Origin and then downloading the Cataclysm Test....Origin crashed completely all 4x....and then randomly I had 2 really weird BSODs with "Stop Code" (Quota_UNDERFLOW)....and I read that bad installs and buggy updates of recently installed software could very well cause that issue. Now I am hesitant to try downloading it again.....Does anyone have any similar experiences or advice about these BSODs?

How's the Cataclysm PTS getting along?

After updating Origin and then attempting several times to download the Cataclysm test and having it crash each time, I just went to shut down my PC for the nite and I got a really weird BSOD with the following "Stop Code" (Quota_Underflow). I have never seen this before, but I read online that buggy updates in recently downloaded software could be a very likely culprit....and since Origin client crashed at least 4x on me after updating, while trying to download this Test.....I am betting that is the issue.
Is anyone else having this issue?
PS: BSODs are still scary
