Also, some devs in pre ME3 interviews. Hackett as well? Anderson too, I think.
The only reason why the galaxy had an opportunity to destroy the reapers is because Bioware had to make them stupid. The Reaper Goo Brain is actually real and had a stroke

Win conventionally? What if Shepard refuses the thing's offering's, then decides to get rid of the thing is to drive the Citadel into the sun? Shepard gets in the driver seat, puts on his/her Ray Ban's, cranks the radio all the way up while listening to AC/DC's Highway To Hell. excellent As Shepard puts it in gear, informs the Normandy to follow. After the Citadel is destroyed, the reapers stop the harvest.
Or what if the Leviathan dlc is part of the main story that is played right after talking with the council? When talking with Leviathan, it says destroying Harbinger is the key to stopping the reapers. ME3 plays out like it does. Shepard, along with all squadmates from the trilogy, will board Harbinger to destroy it from within.
Or instead of that, Leviathan says by destroying the Citadel, that houses the intelligence, the reapers will stop the harvest. During the game, the Citadel is evacuated. Shepard gets in the driver seat and flies the station into the sun.
Conventional victory will not happen because of the numbers the reapers have. ME3 should have been 15 minutes long. The destroyer destroys the SR2 instead of the two shuttles. So 5 minutes for the game with 10 minutes for the credits. The only reason why the galaxy had an opportunity to destroy the reapers is because Bioware had to make them stupid.
Also, Starkid is a "dumb" AI.

That figure for Reaper numbers is a projection which may or may not be accurate. Given the way ME3 goes, it almost certainly is not accurate. In general, fan guesses should be made to conform to the source material.

Plus they didn't program it to realize that doing the same thing over and over again is a strong case of insanity.

"Uh, commander I've got an incoming signal from the IllUsiveman." "Yeah, well. Whatever. Hang up on him. You know, like two years ago with the council, Jus' like old times."
Yep, he says that. He assumes it. Does he know something he does not tell us? Almost certainly, given things like the Obvious Trap Collector Ship. Is it convincing? No, at least not for me. Sorry, TIM, but you got a bad track record. Like, a hilariously extremely bad track record. So I'll go and assume he wants that for himself, to make some nice experiments. He either does not remember the Rachni, Overlord or Jack, or more likey, he does not care. "Imagine how many of our own (unexplainbly) absurdly loyal scientists we could kill with this thing, Shepard! Imagine the potential! The derelict Reaper was just the beginning!"That exchange, like so many others in ME2, appears to lack the chance to discuss the really pressing issue. Like, this: "No matter what kind of technology we find, it's not worth it." replace or add something along the lines of "No matter what you say, TIM, I don't trust you. I might be willing to keep it if you were not involved, but so it has to go boom." (Have a nice blue sun TIM, I'm done here. )

He either does not remember the Rachni, Overlord or Jack, or more likey, he does not care. *cough Akuze cough* My first ever Shepard was a Sole Survior and did the Cerberus-related assignments in ME. All of them. She badly wanted to poke TIM's fancy eyes out and equally feed them to Miranda and Jacob so they both would shut up. But noooo. Here comes the Pet Faction Railroad. I guess this was the point that made me go #NotMyShepard ever since. And the reason why I'm constantly bitching about ME2 (and 3 at times). Ooh, the thorian thing too! Cerberus really sucked at Mad Science. If the success of Mad Science is measured in the useless deaths it creates, then Cerberus is unbeatable.
Yet they got a different result in ME3. Shepard is insane I guess. That would be an interesting take if they remake ME3 and having Shepard becoming truly insane with the possiblity with Shepard being a Deep Cover Reaper Sleeper Agent. Yes I do imagine the Rivers of salt if that happens. I don't know, but I spent some time playing Mass Effect Unification (Mod for the original Star Wars Battlefront II) and enjoyed being the Evil Shockwave Blob of Doom(tm) a.k.a. Scion.

Buckledemon, I know you are a passionate hater of Cerberus it is alright. Well A Re-Telling of ME3 from another Character's POV(yes it would be a new character) with Shepard did suffer a psychotic break during the events between ME2 and ME3 and slowly becomes a Deep cover Reaper Sleeper Agent. Well Keep in mind that In this Re-telling of ME3, Cerberus will have much smaller scale organization that is bankrupt and they would have taken heavy losses from various sources. And there will be new factions to fill in the void that ME3 Cerberus enemies appeared in. Totenkopf a minor faction within Mass Effect, could be used to replace Cerberus at certain section. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Totenkopf Real world history of Totenkopf masseffect.fandom.com/wiki/Israfil Mass Effect Reference of Totenkopf as a Faction The Resolute of Shepard or Death thereof should be address and as much as I would find it humorous to have a Volus Infiltrator as a Player Character during the main events, I don't think it would be a good idea to have Volus of any stripe to be the one to stop the Insane Shepard. N7 or a Cerberus Phantom would be a better fit. I do have rough draft of a idea of un-indoctrinated Cerberus Phantom that I do need to refine a great deal to fit in Mass Effect universe and he would fit into the Milk Way Mass Effect con-current to Post Reaper Way. He would be one of the few Cerberus Commanders(both Normal Rank in File and Phantoms) that both un-indoctrinated and healthy(on many levels) to rebuild Cerberus. Also he would be responsible in taking down a totalitarian government that take over the suriving galaxy. Yes there would be very confuse humans and aliens why would he help them out by taking Government. There are plenty of Roleplaying Option to let the player address what ever they want with the Cerberus Phantom Commander. My N7 Marine idea does involve a N7 Marine that abilities stem from the N7 Classes of ME3 Earth characters. In Short you can have him or her to be N7 Slayer one play thru and a N7 Destroyer in another.

As much as I want ME to go back to the Milky Way (if Bioware hires some decent writers and listens to their input), Shepard's story is complete in my opinion. Jump ahead in the timeline from ME3 with a new main character and crew. Old faces who could still be alive like Liara can make an appearance. I've maintained for years that the next title in the series should be Star Trek The Next Generation to the OTs Original Series. Expand the setting we already had.

If Shepard has access to Mass Effect weapons and armor, and Arnie doesn't, Shep's got it in the bag. Give Arnie the same tech and it becomes interesting.

Well, seeing as the fight is in the same universe, yeah. The T-800 doesn't need armour however, nothing short of a anti tank, anti material or plasma weapon is going to harm the endoskeleton. Plus the T-800 can wield 2 Widow sniper rifles in both hands as you would 2 pistols.

That question is actually for research but I hit a dead end when it comes to T-800 or T850 vs Mass Effect tech and Mass Effect biotics.
