I decided for optimism and chose H1 2021.
Regardless of the wording of the update, I’m convinced BioWare must have just about wrapped up pre-production and with the lessons of Anthem and Inquisition behind them, spent a lot more time ironing out the details of what they want hence why they are still technically in pre-production, so the full production cycle will be shorter than one expects.
I may be a silly optimist, but I think it not unlikely that the reason they are only now wrapping it up is because they wanted to iron out gameplay concepts and prototypes now that they have a bigger team available. So now it will just be a matter of building content.

I have no optimism left. Voted 2025. Might as well have voted "never."
I'm looking forward to Greedfall (probably will start playing it tomorrow) and SWTOR's new expansion.

I'm thinking 2023 (H1) at the latest, though a 2022 (H2) release is also viable. Since the game is in pre-production, they're likely going to want to have at least two years of full development time before shipping the game. I don't see that squaring with a 2021 release date (even in the holiday).
EDIT: I think what makes the date much harder to ascertain is how - on one hand - BioWare (Casey specifically) is saying that DA4 is still in preproduction, but then there's Schreiers reporting that indicates they already had elements in place with Joplin, but parts of it were being scrapped. I wonder if the main reasoning behind why its in preproduction now is because they're having to transfer over whatever elements they originally crafted for Joplin over to Anthems framework; as it was originally using DA:I's framework. Of course, there's also the introduction of live elements; whatever that means at this point.

Anything before October 2021 is a pipe dream, anything before September 2022 is unrealistic, anything before September 2023 has the risk of a rushed fail (not that Bioware can't deliver a rushed fail even after 6 years of development time available).

They're going to need until September 2022 just to hit Anthem launch status. If they start full development tomorrow. As I said, November 2023 announced release, with an inevitable delay to March 2024.

LOL, Mgt at Bio may wait until Cyberpunk 2077 is out to look at the "latest" in market place crowd movement. Struck in awe, they will make a decision to avoid creating market places. I doubt they can compete with that tech. Also, the city in Cyberpunk will have verticality added to the horizontal exploration (not the escarpment humping kind in DA:I). Plus Cyberpunk has those cool motor/car thingys and what does DA4 offer? Horses and carts? If the Griffins are back, that might stir up something.
Maybe Q4 2021 is doable launch date.... most of the good stuff will be cut but the grind is in and the story is in a Codex. That cuts cinematics and voice acting costs. Yeah... late 2021 or early 2022.... ready for the Q4 financials.

I think we'll see full gameplay at E3 2022, and the game will be released in 2023. But this assumes a it's been in development for 2-3 years already. Not we've changed our minds on the direction three times and we're just starting now development. But development on the final idea development.

Not we've changed our minds on the direction three times and we're just starting now development. But development on the final idea development. I think it's safe to assume they won't leave pre-production before 2020, so late 2023, provided pre-production doesn't continue on to 2021, is the most likely release date, but I also expect a not delay to March 2024, as per the usual Bioware release cycle.

I will be disappointed if DA4 wont be out by the end of 2022, but will consider myself lucky if I can get my hands on it earlier.

I'm gonna go with 2022 (H2), though really any time after 2021 (H2) wouldn't surprise me. And this is a list of all the games I'm looking forward to I could think of... Greedfall (maybe) The Outer Worlds Death Stranding SW Jedi: Fallen Order Gods & Monsters Doom Eternal In the Valley of the Gods Ori and the Will of the Wisps Microsoft Flight Simulator (Time to dust off ye olde joystick ) Final Fantasy 7 Remake Cyberpunk 2077 Assassin's Creed: Valhalla(?) (There'll likely be at least a couple AC games released before DA4) Elden Ring Starfield The Elder Scrolls 6 (I wonder which will release first: DA4 or ES6?) I love how you just threw that out there. That there will be at least a couple AC games before DA4. I think they will release the next elder scrolls game just before or just after the next console generation.
One of the things about your list that angers me is the FF7 remake. I was looking forward to it and heard it would be on Xbox one and then poof PS4 exclusive.

Such a rush usually leads to crappy food, and will probably lead to a crappy game. Except I was quite happy with DA2. What I'm saying, using your analogy, is to skip the damn garnish and give me the entree that's becoming lukewarm by now. While I absolutely hate waiting and I LOVED DA2 bioware shouldn't rush like that again. Because while I loved that game and had ALOT of fun playing it and got ALOT of replayability out of it which is a very big deal for me I can recognize it had it's problems and those were because it was rushed.
Again I loved DA2 so I am not one of those "DA2 was the worst game ever" people I just recognize it had flaws that were only there because it was rushed. Now that said if I was at bioware I would have two seperate teams working on different IP's at the same time (one on ME and one on DA) so you could release a game from on of the series every two years and do so with plenty of time to make them.
Honestly the "big" game I am waiting for right now is cyberpunk 2077. It is the only game I am REALLY excited about that has a release date.

As much as it pains me to say this, I don't see the game coming out before 2024. Or at best, late 2023 (unless EA pressures them to finish the game sooner). From what we saw with their previous games, I think that's the time Bioware needs, if we want a decent game.

Yeah I was pissed because I played the original before I hit ten and loved it. Though I haven't played a final fantasy game since the 10th game.

And that goes for the recent releases of SE as well, with the exception of KH. It’s not proof, but it’s a safe assumption and that make it worth being hopeful.
