I don't mind losing for sake of plot, but I just wish that the setup didn't have the obvious cutscene incompetence to contrive that loss. A good example was Thane. Guy had the drop on Kai Leng but totally went Leeroy Jenkins instead. The same can be said for Kirrahe. The whole thing was bad. Thessia was crap. The best part is bringing Javik to talk smack to the asari. The fight was lame. Leng would be better off trying out for the Olympics with all the cart wheeling he did. With the email, I guess it's one of those things that Bioware thought would be cool to add in the game. Don't know. Javik was the only highlight of that part. That fight was totally lame. (mainly because you can finish it in like 5 seconds with a Vanguard).

Yeah I think the yjust did that in a Leng was taunting Shep in the hopes they could get themto make a fata mistaqke or something. I think it's jus tstory purposes really. "Let us taunt it! It may become so cross that it will make a mistake!" "Like what?"

That's a trope is most movies... the villain will almost always run off at the mouth too long before the hero inevitably turns the tables on them somehow. How many villains out there would have won over their heroes had they just shut their traps and proceeded with killing the hero as quickly as possible.

I forgot that Kirrahe can even show up in this scene, since the only other version I've gotten was the Councilor getting straight up murdered in a default playthrough, which, honestly, is kind of preferable lol. I actually really enjoyed Thessia for the most part, and Javik is an absolute necessity for me now. I just hate the way the final encounter is designed, because you can clearly see how weak Kai Leng really is in actual gameplay, only for the mechanic to steal it away with an immunity shield. I don't want to fault a game too much for being so.....game-y, but really, the onus is kind of on them to make these encounters feel clever so they don't take you out of the narrative. I'm supposed to feel defeated, but instead I feel like the game is trolling me.

How many villains out there would have won over their heroes had they just shut their traps and proceeded with killing the hero as quickly as possible. I always imagine that those villains are just weak, sadistic people who do this for a feeling of dominance. btw. “The evening work in the Institute’s library was often interrupted by Bohr, who would say that he was very tired and would like to go to the movies. The only movies he liked were wild Westerns, and he always needed a couple of his students to go with him and explain the complicated plots involving hostile Indians, brave cowboys, and desperados, sheriffs, bar maidens, gold-diggers, and other characters of the Old West. His theoretical mind showed even in these movie expeditions. He developed a theory to explain why although the villain always draws first, the hero is faster and manages to kill him. This Bohr theory was based on psychology. Since the hero never shoots first, the villain has to decide when to draw, which impedes his action. The hero, on the other hand, acts according to a conditioned reflex and grabs the gun automatically as soon as he sees the villain’s hand move. We disagreed with this theory, and the next day I went to a toy store and bought two guns in Western holders. We shot it out with Bohr, he playing the hero, and he ‘killed’ all his students.” pronematch.com/a-shooting-theory-that-wont-bohr-you/

I don't mind losing for sake of plot, but I just wish that the setup didn't have the obvious cutscene incompetence to contrive that loss. A good example was Thane. Guy had the drop on Kai Leng but totally went Leeroy Jenkins instead. Thane should be resting in the hospital, not fighting bad guys. And who exactly discharged him? People don't usually get to leave the hospital at will (eg. voluntary). The doctor only discharges them if they detect no major issues, however Thane was dying. So he should be in bed resting. I imagine with the Citadel coup happening, he probably Batman’d out of the room. The idea of him discharging himself to get into the thick of battle one last time is actually really awesome in theory. I just wish that Leng was a better fighter to justify his death.

Shepard and his team draw first on Thessia. However, Liara drew first on LotSB. I don't think Bioware is applying Bohr. The dialogue, however, is consistently used to "trump" up a boss fight. It was there with Saren. There with Benezia. There with Tela Vasir. There with the Shadow Broker... and there with Leng. Saren killed himself. The Shadow Broker was brought down by a cutscene. Leng was victorious via a cutscene. Tela Vasir and Benezia survived the fight and then died in a subsequent dialogue cutscene. The best boss fight in the OT came in the Citadel DLC - being given the decision to save or kill Shep's clone.

Like all those other shitty Cerberus Phantoms that Shepard killed? Well Cyberstrike, I have a soft spot for beautiful women in leather with swords. Lets face it, there are a lot of things I would change in ME3 including Kai leng as well. If I was going to remake ME3, there would be some retcons with reduced Cerberus presence to the point there is a single cell. And There will be A New Player Character that would be carried after ME3 Reaper War. No Shepard as Player Character and New Reaper Factions and Sleeper Agents.

Well he got his legs broken and was fitted with cybernetic implants and walks around with a cane. So he's definitely not the best fighter.

I wouldn't mind another Shep game. But if not Shep, I'd would like to go back to the milky way with a storyline focused on the gangs and pirates of the milky way. It would be cool to be a gang leader in ME. I just don't want to go back to Andromeda as Ryder.

True, but I still can't figure out why the first Darth Malak fight didn't get the same amount of grief from fans. A well-built PC can thrash him, only to suddenly have to run away because reasons. At that one moment, Darth Malak is the leader of the Sith forces, the big cheese himself, and the player is apparently just an inexperienced new Jedi. Kai Leng gets clumsily shoved into the player's face as "cooler than you lol" on several occasions - when defeating Thane, when clinging to Shepard's hover car and finally on Thessia, and each time the veteran soldier Shepard looks like a complete tool. And Darth Malak, as far as I remember, didn't send you a "neener neener" email afterwards. It's like the difference between a light slap on the cheek and three punches to the nose. I didn't mind the Kai Leng scene on Thessia or Kai Leng in general but I loved killing him

👆This. My Vanguard Shep was kicking Lameo's ass, only for that BS cut scene to take it away. I honestly would have preferred the dialogue with the Illusive Man to cut straight to the gunship bombardment. The gunfight ceremonial bit was simply unnecessary. If it were me, and since Leng is called an assassin, I would let him be one by killing t'soni instead of having her flying on Kai Leng Airlines.
What could have happened is once Shepard enters the temple, it triggers the ball to show holo-TIM. While Shepard is walking around, he/she talks with TIM, and in between that t'soni is talking about the asari each time Shepard activates an item. When TIM says he can't let Shepard leave with the information, Shepard mentions to the squadmates they need to hurry up. When talking with Vendetta, the gunship shows up with Leng stepping out. He orders the gunship to fire at the supports. Gets the info, and bye, bye. Or after Leng makes his entrance, a few phantoms go after Shepard and squad. While the fight is taking place, Leng gets the information. As Shepard kills the last phantom, the gunship is seen flying away.

Honestly the only thing would have been better is that Shepard cuts his head off with his own sword and some bonus Renegade/Paragon points that before you leave the control room she kicks his head across the room. Shepard also keeps his sword.

My Shepard was pissed because he stole the date from Thessia and that hurt Liara and she always had "If you hurt Liara you die!" mentality, so revenge for Thane was just a nice bonus for her.

I wasn’t really a fan of how all Shepard’s say that was for Thane you SoB. That should have been romance only. Maybe but you can't asy Lengg didn't deserve it in the end. At least he found out what happens when you piss Shepard off. Well, I didn’t like it for two reasons. 1. Didn’t like the sudden swear. 2. Of the people Kai Leng killed, the dying Thane wasn’t on top of the list. I think more of like the asari scientists at the temple who had their throats slit.
