Hm...
I agree with Sirpetrakus that the female LI were made bland looking for some reason. Take a look at Cassy from DA2 vs DA:I
However, this proves the old adage that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
IMO, Cassandra was blander in DA2, she had a generic 'created using the character creator' face, in DAI her face was much more unique looking I'm pretty sure "bland" wasn't the right word for the intended concept there.

to illustrate > link coincidentally the picture they use for dragon is an DA high dragon concept art Heh, that clears up a lot about scaly folk. I do feel obliged to make on addition to the picture. The furry luck dragon mentioned there is a kind of a special request breed. The original breed looks more chinese.

Ah, it's from a trailer from Elder Scrolls Online lemme just... it's from their Elsweyr trailer
oh and, technically it's not a dragon, since it has no front legs it'd be considered a wyvern...most movie and tv "dragons" are technically considered wyverns...but then again, there's at least five or six mythologies that have dragons to illustrate > link coincidentally the picture they use for dragon is an DA high dragon concept art Bethesda should use that animation studio to make an Elder Scrolls film, the animation was beautiful

Recently, I read up on Baldur's Gate 3 and found out, that in the game, everyone can bang everyone else.
A simple solution that DA4 design should adopt. ... ought to placate everybody from a bang viewpoint. This mechanic adds the element of jealousy. Think about it. Last night you banged someone and tonight the same someone bangs somebody else. Imagine! NPCs (ie: companions) that develop relationships between them . Ohh... the possibilities.
As to cute, and staying on topic, I just read an article (zergnet.com, I think) as to what female characteristics attract males. ...
They are: 1. full lips ... red coloured lips 2. pearly whites. 3. nice facial features 4. long legs 5. big eyes, small noses + tons of other stuff, ... maturity, intelligence, friendliness....
So, if the artists can at least concentrate on some of the visual features.., maybe we can all be satisfied.... Bear in mind that the character the writers have in mind can be ugly as sin.

Given that BioWare fans have been known to have meltdowns over NPCs flirting with and/or shagging each other even if the PC doesn't express any interest in either party (even in an alternative universe where the PC is dead, i.e. Alistair and Leliana getting together in Darkspawn Chronicles) I am fairly sure this would do the opposite of placating everybody.
Which is not to say that I'd be against it, although it sound awfully complicated to program in cinematic, fully voiced game. I'd just suggest that they move into a fireproof building before contemplating anything like that.

I'd just suggest that they move into a fireproof building before contemplating anything like that. It's easy; don't make the characters overly flirty and don't have the option not to flirt someone be something that penalizes your relationship with that person. Just because we don't want to shag you, doesn't mean we want to kill you. There is a very vast middle ground that we just skipped between these two.

I was referring to various player reactions to things like Isabela and Fenris or Dorian and Bull or Josephine and Blackwall displaying an interest in each other. It seems like you're alluding to player reactions to Anders flirting with Hawke. I'm not sure what one thing has to do with the other???

While we're on the topic I kinda prefer a romance arc like Reyes', his flirting with Ryder never felt like him coming onto them from the get-go in fact, imo. most of the flirting never felt like blatant flirting , it just...felt somewhat natural
for example Ryder: [flirt option] I sound pretty integral to this plan Reyes: SAM is integral...you're a bonus Ryder: hey, I haven't agreed to anything yet Reyes: I feel good about my chances ^ while it's a flirt option, imo. it doesn't sound or feel like one...I kinda like that

Of course, Bio tried this before and it did not, in fact, placate everyone.

I'll always prefer 2/2/2+Extra over the playersexual route no matter what, and I think Bioware, gladly, will stick with it for the long haul.

Odd how certain Men believe that what they find attractive, means that ALL Men like the same. I could say the same for us Women who prefer Heterosexual romances in games. WHERE THE HELL are good looking blokes with personality? We get Cullen....Who, while he's nice to look at, is a bore. Blackwall is a bore with out the looks. ANNNND....THAT'S IT? I'm a Bi Woman and prefer Cass over any other Romance or character in Inquisition BECAUSE she has many layers to her, and ISN'T a conventional beauty Queen. You see a Warrior, but at heart, she's also soft. And loving. And rather nice naked!
SIDE NOTE. I hope all the blokes disrespecting Cass and other female characters keep themselves in an impeccable state and can't be criticized for how they look. You bitches might just have a break down otherwise!

Everyone likes something different. I think It's about time our heterosexual Male counterparts got over themselves, since they no longer dominate the gaming World.

I liked how Dorian and a female Inquisitor could do this as well.

Bethesda should use that animation studio to make an Elder Scrolls film, the animation was beautiful I know right?
sometimes it makes me so mad when the cinematic trailers look better then the actual game like...remember DA2's Destiny trailer? Hawke looks so cool in there (and actually mid-twenties) and then in-game Male Hawke looks double the age...plus the Arishok actually looks fearsome
Honestly the Arishok was still so much fun and entertaining that I didn't even care how different he looked from the trailer. In some ways, I actually prefer the in-game version in the end.

Exactly. What the Hell defines 'nice facial' features? Everyone likes something different While this is somewhat true, the entire human race converges on certain features that are universally well liked. There have been numerous studies on this and I don't see the DA:I cast falling in the "universally appealing" category, as apparent by their divisive reception. I'd argue, as much as the game itself, they fall in the "mixed" received category.
