I'm excited for Bundesliga to start again, also wondering how much more the beer in the stadium will cost this season. Goddamn shit gets more expensive every single ear.

England main league > Spain main league > Italian main league > German main league Germany was good but exhausted. France did a good job until they screwed up the finals. I wouldn´t say exhausted, rather bad at scoring goals. Just take Müller for example. He has not scored 1 goal, not even through a penalty. In the league he would´ve made a lot of these goals blindfolded. Götze: He can do far better, I say that he was indeed mentally unfit to play in the first place, what with all the frustration with Pep unwillingness to let him play. Gomez: When he was brought in the first time, it paid off right away. And you really noticed that he was missing in the semifinals. And then there was the overall too strict adherence to the system. My buddy and I watched every game, and more then once we were "Shoot goddammit!" If you can´t combine yourself into the penalty box, then maybe it´s time to try something different? Germany seemed incapable of that. And I agree on the France part, even if they defeated Germany. You explained long enough, but mine was super short! By exhausted I mean 1 level before old... that includes uninspired, mentally unprepared and in some cases physically not at their best.

I'm a disillusioned Gooner. Decided not to see any games live last season in protest, and will probably do the same this season if Giroud is going to lead the line. I'm a life long Manchester City supporter, runs in the family, unavoidable. Looking forward to see Pep Guardiola in action. Hate you. Tottenham for life. Also casually follow Brøndby here in my native Denmark, but only a Tottenham defeat can ruin my entire week. Hate you too Edit - Forgot to add "lol" at the capitulation in the final game of the season.

Hate you too Edit - Forgot to add "lol" at the capitulation in the final game of the season. About that capitulation: See the previous "entire week ruined" clause. My god, that sucked. Although by the 4th Newcastle goal, all I could do was laugh at it. Also: I'm a weird Tottenham fan. I hate Chelski more than I hate Arsenal. It might be from not growing up in North London, or it might just be that I hate all the "sugar daddy" clubs. Man City are right up there as well.

Eh, at this point I'd almost say that Bundesliga is better then Serie A. Though maybe the new chinese properties can being the Milan teams up to contend with Juventus. Which wouldn't be ideal for me and the team I support, but it'd be best for our league. As for the CL, there are some interesting match ups. Porto is a lot better then getting City or Villareal for us, but it'll still be though, expecially if we don't complete our defense line. Vermaelen seems to be a good addiction though, if we really get him.

Bundesliga has been pretty good overall in recent years, but looks more and more like Bayern Munich will keep on dominating it for the time being. My home team (Hamburg) has been stumbling around abysmally (like newbie MP PuGs in laggy gold games, only less fun to watch) for some years now, and it does not seem like this is about to change .

The problem is that Juventus is set up to do the same. The team won the league title the past 5 years (league record shared with Torino, Inter and themselves), the Milan teams, at least for this year, doesn't seem to benefit much from the new chinese owners, and Roma e Napoli lost their (arguably for Roma) best players, Pjanic and Higuan, that signed for Juventus (and for us the price of the clause is far power then Pjanic's market value). They added Dani Alves, Benatia, which will strenghten their defense, and Pjaca. They lost Pogba, but they'll add another strong midfielder.

Felipe, you're Brazilian, which means that you and me are SWORN enemies (I'm Argentinian). Naaah, totally kidding hahaha. I still find amusing how much both our countries hate each other.
Now, talking about football. What I'm starting to see is how the "old kings" are sucking now. Look at my own country, one of the greatest football teams on the world and now it's a joke. Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, even Uruguay. They're performing quite bad of late, letting other "who knows you" kind of teams shine: Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and so on.

Yeah, it´s the reason I´m not too much into the Bundesliga. I will obviously cheer for Bayern in the CL ( or any german team ), but otherwise they can goml.

Now I'll have to watch my back here. The main problem in Brazil and Argentina is that they became apathetic. The federations tought football here would be good forever because elite talent sprouted everywhere and didn't make adjustements on how new players are discovered. So here we are with a bunch of so-so players and an outdated development program for juniors.

I mean, come on, we'll take you to the moon and beyond! Pfff. Our football came first. Yours is just rugby with helmets. Ooh, so, so off there with the rugby quip. Ask any rugby player who knows anything about American Football, and he'll tell you its basically a completely different sport from Rugby. Rugby is more grabbing, throwing, and high endurance plays that keep going, whereas *grits teeth harshly* ... gridiron... is a game with intense physical aggression with players that have speed, power, and explosiveness that requires helmets and padding to be worn. Rugby requires more constant, active motion, similar to Soccer and Basketball, so an emphasis on endurance is focused. Gridiron (I'm going to hell for calling it that) is based on singular plays, and extremely high intensity blows that can have as much as of 4600 lbs. of force (and no, I'm not converting to the metric system) and very rapid bursts of speed and energy that are simply not used in Rugby. The strongest recorded force of a rugby tackle was around 1800 lbs. of force, whereas blows >4000 lbs. are common place, requiring the usage of pads to be played safely (and there is tremendous controversy today on the effects of the game, including concussions). The power of a rugby player compared to the power of an offensive/defensive lineman is akin to force of an SUV against the force of a Main Battle Tank. Rugby players don't need pads, because they don't tackle like gridiron players do. They're trained to tackle based on personal safety, whereas in gridiron, the purpose is to tackle with maximum force. Due to the play-by-play nature of gridiron, and limited number of plays before the ball has to legally change possession without gaining a certain amount of yardage, the game has a highly tactical and strategic element to it. Many of the plays are highly complex, with one British fan of the game I know saying the game is actually better understood as a game of chess between the coaches and quarterbacks. The purpose isn't so much to maintain possession of the ball so much as it is to gain yardage. Rugby doesn't compare to this, as its an entirely different style of play. It's much more spontaneous and free-flowing. Rugby also doesn't allow any screening or blockage of players who don't have possession of the ball. It's also why it's safer. You can potentially a ton and a half of meat and steel slamming into each other in American football, and it has been known to kill. I think of rugby as though it's a pack of wolves chasing down prey, compared to gridiron as more of two bighorn sheep slamming into each other head-first.

If they keep that individualist attitude, we're never gonna win anything. So all around nobody has high hopes for our football players.

Pfft. I remember this. I was so pissed with that game that I actually didn't finish watching it. Saw all this nonsense on the internet. I don't blame the guy, he truly does his best. Unfortunately he is simply not as good in his own country as he is in Europe. I blame some individuals in the rest of the team for being useless tools and I blame the managers for being massive imbeciles. We need a manager that keeps these morons on short leash, because they have no discipline whatsoever. As of now, that manager has failed to appear.
