It's a bug from what I read (the corpses, not nobody reference to them). I think it's a prank by Daeran maybe ? People seemed to think it was related to the Tavern Defense near release. And if a character is responsible, Ember is the better option, she hangs out in the middle of all of them once recruited.

People seemed to think it was related to the Tavern Defense near release. And if a character is responsible, Ember is the better option, she hangs out in the middle of all of them once recruited. It did happen the night before defense-mas, but feels kinda like a way bigger deal if those were connected. Ember does feel like a pretty big suspect, since she was oh so conveniently in the kitchen when my character woke up. Just gotta see if my elf gets the mess as well. But have heard some pretty compelling accusations against Daeran as well so... Edit: Especially since the bodies don't appear if I kick him out of the group before going to bed, but appear if I don't... But feel a bit duped since I got no head on a plate in my inventory. I would've liked a head. I'd have named him Steve and he would've been my best friend. But really I just want to be able to inform Irabeth/barkeeper that there is a big mess in my room, I don't like it, please don't let it happen again.

Ok maybe I'm missing how, or perhaps you can't do it but is there a way to dismiss spells cast on you by the party? Like if I cast light on somebody but then don't want it to stick around for the whole duration?

Pharasma's last statement for the ascension ending seems to imply the plausibility of a rebellion / chaos / struggle in heaven after Areelu deliberately goes to see her and relate the events leading to the ascension of the PC, companions and Areelu. It's as if she's trying to provoke a response / provide a warning. If it's so, then ascension is not a good thing after all. I also read somewhere the ascension is just a player choice, not in the lore at all.

So, I've finished the game, yay me. I chose to reject the mythic power and be the master of my own destiny. This had some interesting consequences. - It pisses off Areelu to no end. To reject the mythic power, you have to fight and kill a shadow who is essentially the mythic part of your soul, and it turned out that this shadow was the soul of Areelu's dead son. To her it was like her kid got murdered a second time. Ouch. - You receive support from all kinds of mythic people who apparently think that you can't do it as a mortal, among them the angel Targona, the devil Mephistopheles and the dragon Hal...something or other. Oh, and Aivu. Aivu is cute. They will assist you on the assault on Threshold, and some will give you powerful gifts before. Apparently, Nocticula enjoyed being rejected two times so much that she went on about liking headstrong people and left me a gift anyway. Rejecting her twice in turn impressed Iomedae so much that she gave me her personal longsword, Daybreak. What could possibly go wrong from here? Well, the fact that enemies could see and shoot me through walls, for example. Jeez. It made for a frustrating hour of slogging through Threshold until I found a very angry Areelu. I didn't interfere with Pharasma's judgment in the end. I was the law upstairs, she's the law down here.

I'm at the assault on Drezen now and ignoring my desire to restart again (I would do so cause what I did with my armies so far was very, very far from optimal, but oh well). Anyway, my build is working out so far. Main character is easily outclassing Seelah on armor, even though I'm unarmored and I've specced her to be a Tower Shield Specialist. Main character was quite useless in battle though until level 6 cause he did virtually no damage, but once Aldori Swordlord kicked in and dexterity bonus was added to damage, he started doing some real damage too. Was kindof in doubt if the one level in Sorcerer (Crossblooded) was worth it just to get access to Mage Armor, but boy was it worth it. Especially with the Mythic Feat and the fact I have no other characters in my party who can cast it right now. Taking the 1 sorcerer and 1 monk level added a whopping 11 AC all by themselves. Current levels: Aldori Defender (Fighter) 5 Scaled Fist (Monk) 1 (that's where the charisma bonus to armor comes from, in case anyone was wondering) Crossblooded (Sorcerer) 1 Aldori Swordlord 1 Will be taking a bunch of Swordlord levels next. Will end at Aldori Defender 8 and Aldori Swordlord 10 by the time I reach level 20. And my AC will be through the roof
One major downside of playing this character: I'm limited to using a dueling sword and I have yet to find a magical one. Have been using a Cold Iron Masterwork Dueling Sword since the opening dungeon (!)

For science I tried to not take any mythic path advances until after the battle of Drezen, hoping I could spend all three points in my chosen path instead of putting two into Mythic Hero first. This does not only not work, it bugs the game. When you are about to rise the banner and are prompted to pick your mythic path, the game will make you spend two points on Mythic Hero, then you never get the third point that you earn at that moment, and the unrolled banner is invisible because no path was chosen. That was totally worth it.

Oh definitely Anevia's scene at What Do You Dream of. Two PTs and two freezes. I waited out the freeze, hoping the game will kick in. Luckily, it did. Shamira's debuffs is another one.

I did end up restarting because my campaign was in terrible shape. Especially my army was terrible because I had no idea what I was doing. I did have a save fro directly after the Grey Garrison, but I ended up restarting completely.
I'm in a much better shape right now. Also ended up doing a lot more before the assault on Drezen so I'm more than level higher than I was last time around. My army is also incredible, I barely lost any units and have pretty much only added to my army.
In my character build I swapped out the 1 level of Sorcerer for 1 level of Stigmatized Witch, which by itself adds the absurd amount of 7 AC straight of the bat (4 from Mage Armor, 1 natural armor from Lizard familiar, 2 from Iceplant hex), where Sorcerer only adds 4. For basically the entire game my armorless fighter has been pretty much unhittable for the enemy unless they roll a 20. It's great.

For those of you who like to keep their builds simple I can heartily recommend just taking 20 levels of Mutation Warrior and specializing into a good melee weapon. The grand mutagen gives you a massive boost of your physical stats (+8 / +6 / +4) and +6 natural AC. I specialized into Fauchards because of reach and crit range, and while there's only a handful of really good fauchards in the game, it's something else to watch an enemy trying to run past you in melee and instantly dying to your casual 300+ crit attack of opportunity.
Also props to the game for how different the mythic paths feel: aeon was all about being a grim lawful judge, while azata now feels like Guardians of the Galaxy. With dragons and halflings.

I went back to play some Kingmaker while I wait for more fixes. First time giving that a go since they did the whole Definitive edition. I'm actually shocked at how well it got optimized since I last played...how the hell didn't that translate into Wotr? What sort of mumbo jumbo did they do under the hood to mess up the performance so bad?
There's gotta be something funky in the WoTR code. Kingmaker actually looks better in a lot of areas. Shadows look better, lighting looks great, AA actually seems to work and no crazy lag when turn based uses auto camera!
Now just have to hope Owlcat can work the same magic and fix up WoTR.

I'm doing an Angel/Gold Dragon run, and already I'm anticipating how a Trickster run will be like.
