Playing it 'again' has only made me look forward to Starfield. All the Creation Club extras just make it enough to get back out there with Lydia, Serana and the gang.

So here's a question. From any game, what's the longest playthrough you have played only to abandon it and start again? It happened to me this week with a 10th Anniversary replay of Skyrim. After 40 levels (some 10 days) I just wasn't happy with how it was working out. So I started again. That cart again. That headman's block... again... I remember a similar experience with The Witcher III where some fairly trivial choices derailed it. Could it happen with any RPG where you found you make the wrong pick? Haha, that's weird, Skyrim for me too! I got right up to around level 60 after months of playing, but then made the fatal mistake of installing a mod that completely buggered up the game. I almost did everything correctly, hard save before installing the mod, into another cell, install the mod via the Mod Manager, load the game, another hard save etc. etc. etc.... Only thing I forgot to do was make a backup of my save files. The mod messed up the game and uninstalling the mod just caused a CTD every three minutes. Ended up re-installing Skyrim again from scratch, which takes a solid two hours as I'm running around 250 different mods, many of which need to be properly configured. Unfortunately that current game was based upon the 'Live Another Life' mod, which allows you to skip the default Bethesda intro and literally start the game in 'another life', from a list of options. I'd chosen the 'Beaten and left for dead' start, which starts you out with literally nothing, in a ransacked camp in the wilderness no gear, no items, just you and a crap, ragged tunic. I was also running another mod that starts all skills at 0, meaning I had no combat abilities, no spells, no nothing..... Just how I like it. / Re-installing the game, and adding my old save files caused the main quest, to screw up as Live Another Life is meant to kick off upon character creation. Got around the issue using console commands to skip parts of the main quest which it was now impossible to start.. but my heart was no longer in it. Abandoned my L60 character.

SKYRIM... skyrim... yeah no, not again. I actually pondered the idea of starting it once again with all the mods and enhancements available etc. but NO. Same. At this point, I've accepted the fact that I'll never finish this game.
