The main reason I created this thread is an opportunity for me to shit on DC cinematic universe freely.
Yup, Batman v Superman is terrible (duh) and Suicide Squad is kinda meh (just watched it). Seems like Marvel won the war that didn't even started properly 'cause their opponent came armed with sticks and stone axes.

Latest movies I saw at the cinema : - The Secret Life of Pets : was nice lots of good stuff ~ Not the best thing in the year but good. - Independance day 2 : yeah I wanted to see this one just for laughing but... I... kinda... liked it ? even if there are pitiful things (like 80% of the characters ) I also loved some ideas Other alien species helping each other to fight... WHAT??? : make it happens on the next movie ! I want to see this so badly now! And the alien queen was nice ! DVD : - Antman... ok what did I just see ???? XD I laughed so hard sometimes. The best joke ever on the movie that made me laugh during 10 minutes

Well, Suicide Squide isn't as awful as Batman vs Superman but yeah it still sucks. The plot doesnt have as many holes as BvS does and action is kinda okay but there's nothing funny about this movie. To think of it, someone expected it to be as funny and violent and insane as Deadpool

I saw Batman v Superman a few days ago... its... not as bad as people were making out For me... its good as a work of art, but not as a movie... it wasnt a bad movie but... I didnt feel like things were explained much??? like what exactly is wonder woman??? is she a kryptonian??? what can she do??? Like superman... hes super strong basically indestructible he can fly and he has lazer eyes... thats easy to understand... batman has lots of technology and thats easy to understand too... but wonderwoman... she has a shield and gauntlets that can absorb things??? and a sword which is like the most insanely strong sword ever??? and a lasso??? I just dont get it I guess if we spent more time with her then id maybe understand.. For me... Batman v Superman... it was a movie which... functioned better as a trailer than it did a movie??? individual shots and individual scenes were like the best things ever... but they didnt seem to fit together somehow??? So as a work of art I think its better than all marvel movies... For me... marvel movies arent good... I love them to pieces but... they arent good movies to me and they dont have muuucchhhh artistic value theyre just a bit of fun... just kind of easy watching??? Batman v Superman had a massive artistic value... but it didnt work as a movie I dont think

Most recent movie was X-Men Apocalypse.
Thought it was alright. Sophie as Jean Grey was okay. Just doesn't quite have the same gravitas that Famke Janssen has. Cyclops was a pussy and as written poorly but as always, MacAvoy, Fassbender, and Hoult carried that film on their backs. I also thought the guy they have as Quicksilver is awesome and arguably the best thing about that movie aside from a certain cameo. They have Apocalypse's powerset down pat and the voice was decent. Still hung up a bit on his appearance though. He's too human looking. The plotline was alright but I'm not going to jump on the Jennifer Lawrence bandwagon. She's good as Mystique but the character isn't 1/10 the relevance in the comics as they've been trying to make her out to be in all these movies.
Then there's the glaring issue of never quite bringing up Nightcrawler's parentage (another thing botched with how Azazel was made out to be just some grunt). Angel/Archangel was a complete jamoke, and I hated how they didn't make him into the badass Uncanny blue Archangel who hated Apocalypse for changing his appearance. Psylocke may as well not even be there unless they plan on integrating her into the crew as she should be. Here's to hoping one day we get a good Cyclops actor and base him on the modern post House of M leader that he should be and not the boy scout Cyclops from the 70's and 80's. Dude is on the omega power tier when fully unleashed for crying out loud. So, nitpicking aside it gets a solid 7/10. Storm was hot as fuck. 7.5/10. There. :ph34r

I'm someone who liked both BvS and Suicide Squad (don't get me wrong though, both of them have problems), but I wouldn't say there's a "war" with Marvel there. Both companies would like each other's movies to do well, as both companies benefit from that.

Agree with most of OniTYME's review of Apocalypse. My only real beef with that movie is that they actually killed Apocalyse, especially with them planning on bringing Mr. Sinister in next. Such downgrade tbh Otherwise I picked up the Rogue Cut of Days of Future Past last week. I liked it. I missed the original cast so more future stuff was definitely good. I also rewatched the Bourne trilogy in preparation for seeing the new one. Identity still holds up as a great movie, but the other two felt considerably more meh. Once the major question (who am I) is answered, Bourne becomes more generic and dangling a few flashbacks ain't gonna change that. Joan Allen was good though. We'll see how the new one does.

Our Lord and Savior Geoff Johns will save the DC movies, Suicide Squad was the last one made without his supervision. I tought the movie was clunky as hell, maybe they release another cut of it with the DVD release like BvS.

I tried to keep an open mind about Ghostbusters despite all the internet hate because I loved the original. I think I laughed maybe twice throughout the whole movie - the rest of the time I just cringed. So many jokes just fell flat and it felt awkward.

I fell asleep twice while watching Batman V Superman ....after I woke up the 1st time..I rewound it to where I dosed off, 15 minutes later..asleep again cuz it's so god damn boring..... the only interesting part of that movie was Wonder Woman. I finally brokedown and watched the new ghostbusters ( I am a huge,die-hardcore fan of ghostbusters)...you know what? It really isn't that bad. The reason I was hesitant to watch it.. because my problem I had with it,, was it didnt acknowledge its own history..but the movie itself, can / does stand on it's own.

The theatrical version of BvS is one of the most conflicting experiences I've ever had in a cinema. I loved just about every scene but I came out of it thinking I'd missed something or that is was - just barely, like 5.1/10 - only OK. Saw the extended edition on Bluray and really, really liked it. I loved Man of Steel (yes, I'm the one) and have watched it maybe a dozen times. I don't like BvS extended as much as MoS, but feel there is a lot to like about it. The 'Martha' scene is a bit of a fail, and I wish Bats and Supes had had a 'Daredevil' moment where they try to hash it out on a rooftop (the scene where the Batmobile crashes into Superman was the perfect moment), but all-in-all the extended version is well worth my time and will be watching it again.
Seeing Suicide Squad tomorrow. I've come to the conclusion that I don't agree with the critics that are Rotten Tomatoes certified - which probably means I know nothing about movies, and I'm OK with that.
And yes, I love or like almost all the Marvel films. The only duds for me have been Dark World and Winter Soldier (I just don't see what everyone else seems to see in that movie)....
