I just recently purchased DAI, downloaded & installed updates and purchased the free DLC The Black Emporium. Can anyone tell me, do I really need to log on to the Dragon Age Servers to get The Black Emporium to show up in the game? If so, how does one go about getting the servers to work? I understand that EA has been down for a few days, but I've been trying for over a week and a half to try to connect to the servers (at various times of the day/night). Is there a trick to it or is EA just that unreliable? I have over 120 hours in to the game and still no Black Emporium. (I'm glad I haven't downloaded anything that cost money!) If I don't have to log in to the servers, then how do I get The Black Emporium to show up in game? Any assistance or advice would be appreciated. CW

The Black Emporium will show up on the War Table after you went there for the first time to unlock the Hinterlands. As far as I remember it won't show up before you unlocked the Hinterlands. Has nothing to do with the DA Servers IIRC....

Then I am quite confused. When I first installed the game is when I installed The Black Emporium. So, if what you are saying is correct, it should have shown up a long time ago. It is not showing up on the war table. It has never shown up on the war table. How do I get it to show up in game then?
Thanks CW

Reinstall game. Reinstall origin. Open ports. Change my ISP.Yeah, that ain't happening. First, I had to DL the update on a satellite connection. Secondly I had to DL the update on a limited bandwidth satellite connection (17G/month). What does "open ports" mean? I can't change the ISP as it has been assigned to me by the internet satellite company. See how I'm kinda stuck here? Seriously though, thanks for attempting to help. It's better than EA has done! They sent me a generic message about the servers being down. Even though I had this issue BEFORE the servers went down. CW

Did you keep the installation files that you downloaded in the first place? Second, it says those are the things that the poster tried, but did you keep reading? None of that worked. What did work for that person was reinstalling Origin as an admin. (Again, reinstall, not re-download.) Have you tried this? It was linked just a few posts down on that thread that Wulfram gave you: answers.ea.com/t5/Origin/HOW-TO-Fixing-Origin-Login-Unavailable/m-p/3218195#U3218195 * sigh*Here is how it goes from beginning to end. I'm running Win10 btw. I purchased the disc copy from a store. I installed the disc copy on to my computer. skip that... I installed Origin first. Then I installed the disc copy of Dragon Age: Inquisition on to my computer. Then Origin said it needed to update the game before it could be played. I let it do so. There was no file to download and save. It was an update from Origin. Then I downloaded The Black Emporium from the Origin store and it automatically installed without saving the cab file or exe file or what-ever type of file it is that the expansion starts as. (Could be a zip file for all I know.) Once the game was ready to play, I created an icon for the taskbar and desktop, clicked on the icon and the game started. I set up the game to my liking. I played the game through until I was able to access the war table. NO BLACK EMPORIUM ON THE WAR TABLE. I went on line to find out why the expansion wasn't showing up in game. I found a few forums where it talked about having to connect to the DA servers to "activate" the DAI version of The Black Emporium. I went back to the game and tried to access the DA servers. Nothing connected. I went to answers.ea.com/t5/Dragon-Age-Inquisition and searched for an answer to the question "Why can't I connect to the DA servers?" I found a few different suggestions (including the one mentioned here) and I tried those that I could try. Nothing changed, I still couldn't reach the DA servers. I went BACK to the message here: answers.ea.com/t5/Dragon-Age-Inquisition/Dragon-Age-Inquisition-won-t-connect-to-the-Dragon-Age-Servers/m-p/4571921#M55415 and spoke to my husband about it. He said that we couldn't change our ISP as we are under contract. We couldn't change the ports because we don't have the knowledge to do so. So, getting nowhere with other posts, I posted this issue both here and on answers.ea.com/t5/Dragon-Age-Inquisition. (Which, for some reason, doesn't load properly and I have a heck of a time trying to sign in!) I posted the same issue there and got the generic response. I later returned to the post and got additional ideas from other people. Such as The post already mentioned here, and the following suggestions (direct quote) In general, for connection issues I would recommend trying the steps in the following articles: help.ea.com/en-us/help/dragon-age/dragon-age-inquisition/online-ports-for-dragon-age-inquisition and help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/connection-troubleshooting-basic. I went to the suggested sites, tried some of the suggestions, (the ones I could understand) and came up with only one solution. I tried the one that mentions the UO Trace program. I downloaded the program and ran it. I came up with the fact that my ISP is losing the data for some reason and WON'T connect to the EA servers. I will post the results of that if anyone would like to see them. NOW I have the problem of the fact that the answers.ea.com site won't load properly and I can't sign in. I experimentally tried to get into DAI last night and initially had the same problem as you (servers not available...I have had Black Emporium activated for some time now, so I didn't bother checking that). So I followed the steps I linked to you: exited Origin completely, cleared the caches, logged back in to origin, started DAI, pressed log in button within DAI itself, and it finally connected.

??????? I don't know where you get the idea that I'm mad at anyone. I haven't indicated such; nor have I meant to imply such. Don't get frustration mixed with anger. No one is angry. Frustrated, yes. Angry, no. That is why I don't like posting on boards. People read emotions that just aren't there. There is nothing in the download cache to clear, it is empty. (Not to mention that it is in a hidden file on windows 10 called programdata. kind of hard to find when you don't know what you are looking for. ) Thanks to those who have tried to help. NO thanks goes to EA whatsoever.
